Interpreting Black-Box Large Language Models with Sentence-Level Energy Landscapes

The widespread adoption of proprietary Large Language Models (LLMs) accessed strictly through closed APIs has created a critical challenge for responsible deployment: a fundamental lack of interpretability. To address this, we propose a model-agnostic, post-hoc attribution interpreter operating at the sentence level. Our approach trains an Energy-Based Model (EBM) as a surrogate to capture the LLM's internal conceptual consistency between prompts and responses. This energy landscape guides the training of a lightweight interpreter network. Uniquely, our interpreter operates as a standalone tool; once trained, it quantifies the influence of prompt sentences on a user-specified target output without requiring further API queries to the LLM. By globally training a local interpreter across diverse inputs, our framework captures broader generation patterns and mitigates instance-specific biases. Experiments demonstrate that our EBM accurately simulates the target LLM, allowing the interpreter to effectively identify the prompt sentences most influential in generating specific target outputs.

Study of Pluto's Atmosphere Based on 2020 Stellar Occultation Light Curve Results

On 6 Jun 2020, Pluto's stellar occultation was successfully observed at a ground-based observatory and Pluto's atmospheric parameters were investigated. We used an atmospheric model of Pluto (DO15), assuming a spherical and transparent pure N2 atmosphere. Using ray-tracing code the stellar occultation light curve was satisfactorily fitted to this model. We found that Pluto's atmospheric pressure at the reference radius of 1215 km is 6.72+_0.21 μbar. Our estimated pressure shows a continuation of the increasing pressure studied in 2016 consistent with a seasonal volatile transport model. We concluded that the N2 condensation processes in the Sputnik Planitia glacier are increasing due to the heating of the N2 ice in this basin. This study's result was shown on the diagram of the annual evolution of atmospheric pressure.

Enhancement in Power Conversion Efficiency of CdS Quantum Dot Sensitized Solar Cells Through a Decrease in Light Reflection

In this research, the effect of Magnesium Fluoride (MgF2) Anti-Reflection (AR) layer was investigated in quantum dot sensitized solar cells (QDSCs). MgF2 nanoparticles with the dominant size of 20 nm were grown by a thermal evaporation method and a thin layer was formed on the front side of the fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) substrate. In order to study the effect of the AR layer on the efficiency of solar cells, this substrate was utilized in CdS QDSCs. In this conventional structure of QDSC, TiO2 nanocrystals (NCs) were applied on the FTO substrate, and then it was sensitized with CdS quantum dots (QDs). According to the results, the QDSCs with MgF2 AR layer represented the maximum Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) of 3%. This efficiency was increased by about 47% compared to the reference cell without the AR layer. The reason is attributed to the presence of the AR layer and the reduction of incident light reflected from the surface of the solar cell.
