Borel-Moore homology and cap product operations

We show that, for a simplicial complex, the supported cap product operation on Borel-Moore homology coincides with the supported cap product on simplicial homology. For this purpose we introduce the supported cap product for locally finite singular homology, and compare the cap product on the three homology theories.

Integrals of logarithmic forms on semi-algebraic sets and a generalized Cauchy formula, Part I: convergence theorems

In this paper consisting of two parts, we study the integral of a logarithmic differential form on a compact semi-algebraic set in R^n or C^n. In Part I, we prove the convergence of the integral when the semi-algebraic set satisfies allowability (or admissibility), a condition on the dimension of the intersection of the set and the pole divisor of the differential form.

Cycle theory of relative correspondences

We establish a theory of complexes of relative correspondences. The theory generalizes the known theory of complexes of correspondences of smooth projective varieties. It will be applied in the sequel of this paper to the construction of the triangulated category of motives over a base variety.

Quasi DG categories and mixed motivic sheaves

We introduce the notion of a quasi DG category, generalizing that of a DG category. To a quasi DG category satisfying certain additional conditions, we associate another quasi DG category, the quasi DG category of $C$-diagrams. We then show the homotopy category of the quasi DG category of $C$-diagrams has the structure of a triangulated category. This procedure is then applied to produce a triangulated category of mixed motives over a base variety.

Weight filtration on the cohomology of algebraic varieties

We show that the etale cohomology (with compact supports) of an algebraic variety $X$ over an algebraically closed field has the canonical weight filtration $W$, and prove that the middle weight part of the cohomology with compact supports of $X$ is a subspace of the intersection cohomology of a compactification $X'$ of X, or equivalently, the middle weight part of the (so-called) Borel-Moore homology of $X$ is a quotient of the intersection cohomology of $X'$. We are informed that this has been shown by A. Weber in the case $X$ is proper (and $k=\bC$) using a theorem of G. Barthel, J.-P. Brasselet, K.-H. Fieseler, O. Gabber and L. Kaup on morphisms between intersection complexes. We show that the assertion immediately follows from Gabber's purity theorem for intersection complexes.
