Effects of the Tsallis distribution in the linear sigma model

The effects of the Tsallis distribution which has two parameters, $q$ and $T$,on physical quantities are studied using the linear sigma model in chiral phase transitions. The Tsallis distribution approaches the Boltzmann-Gibbs distribution as $q$ approaches $1$. The parameter $T$ dependences of the condensate and mass for various $q$ are shown, where $T$ is called temperature. The critical temperature and energy density are described with digamma function, and the $q$ dependences of these quantities and the extension of Stefan-Boltzmann limit of the energy density are shown. The following facts are clarified. The chiral symmetry restoration at $q>1$ occurs at low temperature, compared with the restoration at $q=1$.The sigma mass and pion mass reflect the restoration. The critical temperature decreases monotonically as $q$ increases. The small deviation from the Boltzmann-Gibbs distribution results in the large deviations of physical quantities, especially the energy density. It is displayed from the energetic point of view that the small deviation from the Boltzmann-Gibbs distribution is realized for $q>1$. The physical quantities are affected by the Tsallis distribution even when $|q-1|$ is small.

Application of optimization method to the $x^4$ model in the Tsallis nonextensive statistics

We study the effects of the environment described by the Tsallis nonextensive statistics on physical quantities using an optimization method in the case of small deviation from the Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics. The $x^4$ model is used and the density operator is restricted to be a gaussian form. The variational parameter is the frequency $Ω$ of a particle in the optimization method. We obtain an approximate expression of free energy and of the expectation value of $βm Ω^2 x^2 /2$, where $β$ is the inverse of the temperature and $m$ is the mass of a particle. Numerically, the optimized frequency is estimated and the expectation value of $βm Ω^2 x^2 /2$ is calculated. The effects of the Tsallis nonextensive statistic for small deviation from the Boltzmann-Gibbs statistics are found: 1) the frequency modulation of a particle and 2) the variation of the expectation value of $βm Ω^2 x^2 /2$ at high temperature.

Description of a domain by a squeezed state in a scalar field theory

The author attempted to describe a domain by using a squeezed state in quantum field theory. An extended squeeze operator was used to construct the state. In a scalar field theory, the author described a domain that the distributions of the condensate and of the fluctuation are Gaussian. The momentum distribution, chaoticity and correlation length were calculated. It was found that the typical value of the momentum is about the inverse of the domain size, and that the chaoticity reflects the ratio of the size of the squeeze region to that of the coherent region. The results indicate that the quantum state of a domain is surmised by these quantities under the assumption that the distributions are Gaussian. As an example, this method was applied to a pion field, and the momentum distribution and the chaoticity were shown.

Suppression of growth by multiplicative white noise in a parametric resonant system

The author studied the growth of the amplitude in a Mathieu-like equation with multiplicative white noise. The approximate value of the exponent at the extremum on parametric resonance regions was obtained theoretically by introducing the width of time interval, and the exponents were calculated numerically by solving the stochastic differential equations by a symplectic numerical method. The Mathieu-like equation contains a parameter $α$ that is determined by the intensity of noise and the strength of the coupling between the variable and the noise. The value of $α$ was restricted not to be negative without loss of generality. It was shown that the exponent decreases with $α$, reaches a minimum and increases after that. It was also found that the exponent as a function of $α$ has only one minimum at $α\neq 0$ on parametric resonance regions of $α= 0$. This minimum value is obtained theoretically and numerically. The existence of the minimum at $α\neq 0$ indicates the suppression of the growth by multiplicative white noise.

Environmental effects on the $x^{4}$ model in Tsallis statistics

The author studied the effects of the environment described by Tsallis statistics in quantum mechanics, when the deviation from Boltzmann-Gibbs (BG) statistics is small. The $x^{4}$ model was used and the squeeze angle caused by the difference between Tsallis and BG statistics was calculated perturbatively in the mean field approximation as a function of the dimensionless parameters: the inverse temperature $β_p$ and the coupling strength $λ_p$. The author found that the effect of the deviation from BG statistics is relatively large at high temperature. The squeeze angle as a function of $β_p$ has a dip structure, and the dip is deeper with the increase of $λ_p$. The angle as a function of $β_p$ changes the sign. These facts indicate that the frequency is modulated by the difference between these statistics.

Amplification induced by white noise

We investigate the amplification of the field induced by white noise. In the present study, we study a stochastic equation which has two parameters, the energy $ω(\vec{k})$ of a free particle and the coupling strength $D$ between the field and white noise, where the quantity $\vec{k}$ represents the momentum of a free particle. This equation is reduced to the equation with one parameter $α(\vec{k})$ which is defined as $α(\vec{k}) = D (ω(\vec{k}))^{-3/2}$. We obtain the expression of the exponent statistically averaged over the unit time and derive an approximate expression of it. In addition, the exponent is obtained numerically by solving the stochastic equation. We find that the amplification increases with $α(\vec{k})$. This indicates that white noise can amplify the fields for soft modes if the mass $m$ of the field is sufficiently light and if the strength of the coupling between the field and white noise is sufficiently strong, when the energy $ω(\vec{k})$ is equal to $\sqrt{m^{2} + \vec{k}^{2}}$. We show that the $α(\vec{k})$ dependence of the exponent statistically averaged is qualitatively similar to that of the exponent obtained by solving the stochastic equation numerically, and that these two exponents for the small value of $α(\vec{k})$ are quantitatively similar.

Effects of white noise on parametric resonance in $λϕ^{4}$ theory

We investigate the effects of white noise on parametric resonance in $λϕ^{4}$ theory. The potential $V(ϕ)$ in this study is ${1/2} m^{2} ϕ^{2} + {1/3} g ϕ^{3} + {1/4} λϕ^{4}$. An Mathieu-like equation is derived and the derived equation is applied to a partially thermalized system. The magnitudes of the amplifications are extracted by solving the equations numerically for various values of parameters. It is found that the amplification is suppressed by white noise in almost all the cases. However, in some $g=0$ cases, the amplification with white noise is slightly stronger than that without white noise. In the $g=0$ cases, the fields are always amplified. The amplification is maximal at $k_{m} \neq 0$ in some $g=0$ cases. Contrarily, in the $g = {3 \sqrt{2 λ} m}/{2}$ cases, the fields for some finite modes are suppressed and the amplification is maximal at $k_{m} \sim 0$ when the amplification occurs. It is possible to distinguish by these differences whether the system is on the $g=0$ state or not.

Parametric resonance at the critical temperature in high energy heavy ion collisions

Parametric resonance in soft modes at the critical temperature ($T_{c}$) in high energy heavy ion collisions is studied in the case when the temperature ($T$) of the system is almost constant for a long time. By deviding the fields into three parts, zero mode (condensate), soft modes and hard modes and assuming that the hard modes are in thermal equilibrium, we derive the equation of motion for soft modes at $T=T_{c}$. Enhanced modes are extracted by comparing with the Mathieu equation for the condensate oscillating along the sigma axis at $T=T_{c}$. It is found that the soft mode of $π$ fields at about 174 MeV is enhanced.

Parametric amplification with a friction in heavy ion collisions

We study the effects of the expansion of the system and the friction on the parametric amplification of mesonic fields in high energy heavy ion collisions within the linear $σ$ model . The equation of motion which is similar to Mathieu equation is derived to describe the time development of classical fields in the last stage of a heavy ion collision after the freezeout time. The enhanced mode is extracted analytically by comparison with Mathieu equation and the equation of motion is solved numerically to examine whether soft modes will be enhanced or not. It is found that the strong peak appears around 267 MeV in the pion transverse momentum distribution in cases with weak friction and high maximum temperature. This enhancement can be extracted by taking the ratio between different modes in the pion transverse momentum distribution.
