Results on Cartesian $1$-capacity of graphs

The concept of graph capacity extends graph span by considering the maximum number of agents that can simultaneously traverse a graph while preserving a prescribed minimum distance. We study the Cartesian $1$-capacity, corresponding to the movement in which exactly one agent moves at each step. We establish general lower and upper bounds based on structural graph properties and derive exact results for trees. Our work highlights the role of branching and bridge structures in determining the Cartesian $1$-capacity and provides new insights into collision-free multi-agent motion on graphs.

Span capacities of graphs

The $d$-capacity of a graph $G$ is introduced as the maximum number of players that can simultaneously traverse $G$ such that each player visits all vertices while maintaining a distance of at least $d$ under various movement rules. We determine their values for paths and cycles and provide bounds for bipartite graphs. Furthermore, we characterize topfull graphs, where the 1-capacities reach their theoretical maximum, establishing a connection to graph factorizations and connectivity.

First integrals and invariants of systems of ODEs

We investigate the interplay between monomial first integrals, polynomial invariants of certain group action, and the Poincaré-Dulac normal forms for autonomous systems of ODEs with diagonal matrix of the linear part. Using tools from computational algebra, we develop an algorithmic approach for identifying generators of the algebras of monomial and polynomial first integrals, which works in the general case where the matrix of the linear part includes algebraic complex eigenvalues. Our method also provides a practical tool for exploring the algebraic structure of polynomial invariants and their relation to the Poincaré-Dulac normal forms of the underlying vector fields.

Generalized Jordan derivations of unital algebras

Let $A$ be a unital algebra over a field $F$ with $\operatorname*{char} (F)\neq2$. In this paper we introduce a new concept of a generalized Jordan derivation, covering Jordan centralizers and Jordan derivations, as follows: a linear map $f:A\rightarrow A$ is a generalized Jordan derivation if there exist linear maps $g;h:A\rightarrow A$ such that $f\left( x\right) \circ y+x\circ g\left( y\right) =h\left( x\circ y\right) $ for all $x,y\in A$ (here $x\circ y=xy+yx$). Our aim is to give the form of map $f$ in terms of the so called quasi Jordan centralizers and quasi Jordan derivations. In addition, a characterization of such maps is presented.

The strong vertex span of trees

The strong vertex (edge) span of a given graph $G$ is the maximum distance that two players can maintain at all times while visiting all vertices (edges) of $G$ and moving either to an adjacent vertex or staying in the current position independently of each other. We introduce the notions of switching walks and triod size of a tree, which are used to determine the strong vertex and the strong edge span of an arbitrary tree. The obtained results are used in an algorithm that computes the strong vertex (edge) span of the input tree in linear time.

Invariants and reversibility in polynomial systems of ODEs

This paper explores a relationship between invariants of certain group actions and the time-reversibility of two-dimensional polynomial differential systems exhibiting a $1:-1$ resonant singularity at the origin. We focus on the connection of time-reversibility with the Sibirsky subvariety of the center (integrability) variety, which encompasses systems possessing a local analytic first integral near the origin. An algorithm for generating the Sibirsky ideal for these systems is proposed and the algebraic properties of the ideal are examined. Furthermore, using a generalization of the concept of time-reversibility we study $n$-dimensional systems with a $1:ζ:ζ^2:\dots:ζ^{n-1}$ resonant singularity at the origin, where $n$ is prime and $ζ$ is a primitive $n$-th root of unity. We study the invariants of a Lie group action on the parameter space of the system, leveraging the theory of binomial ideals as a fundamental tool for the analysis. Our study reveals intriguing connections between generalized reversibility, invariants, and binomial ideals, shedding light on their complex interrelations.
