Linear statistics of determinantal point processes and norm representations

We study the asymptotic behavior of the fluctuations of smooth and rough linear statistics for determinantal point processes on the sphere and on the Euclidean space. The main tool is the generalization of some norm representation results for functions in Sobolev spaces and in the space of functions of bounded variation.

Calder\'on-Zygmund theory on some Lie groups of exponential growth

Let $G = N \rtimes A$, where $N$ is a stratified Lie group and $A= \mathbb R_+$ acts on $N$ via automorphic dilations. We prove that the group $G$ has the Calder\'on-Zygmund property, in the sense of Hebisch and Steger, with respect to a family of flow measures and metrics. This generalizes in various directions previous works by Hebisch and Steger and Martini, Ottazzi and Vallarino, and provides a new approach in the development of Calder\'on-Zygmund theory in Lie groups of exponential growth. We also prove a weak type $(1,1)$ estimate for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator naturally arising in this setting.

Hardy-Littlewood maximal operators on trees with bounded geometry

In this paper we study the $L^p$ boundedness of the centred and the uncentred Hardy--Littlewood maximal operators on the class $\Upsilon_{a,b}$, $2\leq a\leq b$, of trees with $(a,b)$-bounded geometry. We find the sharp range of $p$, depending on $a$ and $b$, where the centred maximal operator is bounded on $L^p(\mathfrak T)$ for all $\mathfrak T$ in $\Upsilon_{a,b}$. We show that there exists a tree in $\Upsilon_{a,b}$ for which the uncentred maximal function is bounded on $L^p$ if and only if $p=\infty$. We also extend these results to graphs which are strictly roughly isometric, in the sense of Kanai, to trees in the class $\Upsilon_{a,b}$.

Poincar\'e inequalities on graphs

We prove local $L^p$-Poincar\'e inequalities, $ p\in[1,\infty]$, on quasiconvex sets in infinite graphs endowed with a family of locally doubling measures, and global $L^p$-Poincar\'e inequalities on connected sets for flow measures on trees. We also discuss the optimality of our results.

Two-weight dyadic Hardy's inequalities

We present various results concerning the two-weight Hardy's inequality on infinite trees. Our main scope is to survey known characterizations (and proofs) for trace measures, as well as to provide some new ones. Also for some of the known characterizations we provide here new proofs. In particular, we obtain a new characterization based on a new reverse H\"older inequality for trace measures, and one based on the well known Muckenhoupt-Wheeden-Wolff inequality, of which we here give a new probabilistic proof. We provide a new direct proof for the so called isocapacitary characterization and a new simple proof, based on a monotonicity argument, for the so called mass-energy characterization. Furthermore, we introduce a conformally invariant version of the two-weight Hardy's inequality, we characterize the compactness of the Hardy operator, we provide a list of open problems and suggest some possible lines of future research.

Riesz transform for a flow Laplacian on homogeneous trees

We prove the $L^p$-boundedness, for $p \in (1,\infty)$, of the first order Riesz transform associated to the flow Laplacian on a homogeneous tree with the canonical flow measure. This result was previously proved to hold for $p \in (1,2]$ by Hebisch and Steger, but their approach does not extend to $p>2$ as we make clear by proving a negative endpoint result for $p = \infty$ for such operator. We also consider a class of ``horizontal Riesz transforms'' corresponding to differentiation along horocycles, which inherit all the boundedness properties of the Riesz transform associated to the flow Laplacian, but for which we are also able to prove a weak type $(1,1)$ bound for the adjoint operators, in the spirit of the work by Gaudry and Sj\"ogren in the continuous setting. The homogeneous tree with the canonical flow measure is a model case of a measure-metric space which is nondoubling, of exponential growth, does not satisfy the Cheeger isoperimetric inequality, and where the Laplacian does not have spectral gap.

Analysis on trees with nondoubling flow measures

We consider trees with root at infinity endowed with flow measures, which are nondoubling measures of at least exponential growth and which do not satisfy the isoperimetric inequality. In this setting, we develop a Calderon-Zygmund theory and we define BMO and Hardy spaces, proving a number of desired results extending the corresponding theory as known in more classical settings.

Distortion and Distribution of Sets under Inner Functions

It is a classical result that Lebesgue measure on the unit circle is invariant under inner functions fixing the origin. In this setting, the distortion of Hausdorff contents has also been studied. We present here similar results focusing on inner functions with fixed points on the unit circle. In particular, our results yield information not only on the size of preimages of sets under inner functions, but also on their distribution with respect to a given boundary point. As an application, we use them to estimate the size of irregular points of inner functions omitting large sets. Finally, we also present a natural interpretation of the results in the upper half plane.

Equilibrium measures on trees

We give a characterization of equilibrium measures for $p$-capacities on the boundary of an infinite tree of arbitrary (finite) local degree. For $p=2$, this provides, in the special case of trees, a converse to a theorem of Benjamini and Schramm, which interpretes the equilibrium measure of a planar graph's boundary in terms of square tilings of cylinders.

Some Remarks on the Dirichlet Problem on Infinite Trees

We consider the Dirichlet problem on infinite and locally finite rooted trees, and we prove that the set of irregular points for continuous data has zero capacity. We also give some uniqueness results for solutions in Sobolev $ W^{1,p} $ of the tree.

On a class of shift-invariant subspaces of the Drury-Arveson space

In the Drury-Arveson space, we consider the subspace of functions whose Taylor coefficients are supported in the complement of a set $Y\subset\mathbb{N}^d$ with the property that $Y+e_j\subset Y$ for all $j=1,\dots,d$. This is an easy example of shift-invariant subspace, which can be considered as a RKHS in is own right, with a kernel that can be explicitely calculated. Moreover, every such a space can be seen as an intersection of kernels of Hankel operators, whose symbols can be explicity calcuated as well. Finally, this is the right space on which Drury's inequality can be optimally adapted to a sub-family of the commuting and contractive operators originally considered by Drury.
