Rate-Loss Mitigation for a Millimeter-Wave Beamspace MIMO Lens Antenna Array System Using a Hybrid Beam-Selection Scheme

The rate loss is an important issue for multi-user beamspace multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) millimeter-wave systems. In such systems, multi-cluster channel propagation leads as a function of the quantization error and, as a result, each active user suffers a significant rate loss. Particularly, a conventional single beam selection (SBS) scheme is used in an equivalent beamspace MIMO channel to reduce the required number of radio frequency (RF) chains, but this scheme does not properly mitigate the quantization error due to the limited number of the channel propagation clusters per-user. In addition, optimally selected beams or RF chains are operated at the same number of the precoded data streams. Consequently, each active user inherently loses a huge number of data streams utilizing the conventional SBS scheme. Therefore, we propose a hybrid beam selection (HBS) scheme in an equivalent beamspace MIMO channel to implement a multiple beam or RF chain group selection opportunity and choose a reliable channel propagation cluster per-active-user, which directly affects to mitigate the quantization error. The numerical result is verified by computer simulations in terms of a millimeter-wave MIMO downlink channel environment.

NEWSTRADCOIN: A Blockchain Based Privacy Preserving Secure NEWS Trading Network

In order to stay up to date with world issues and cutting-edge technol-ogies, the newspaper plays a crucial role. However, collecting news is not a very easy task. Currently, news publishers are collecting news from their correspond-ents through social networks, email, phone call, fax etc. and sometimes they buy news from the agencies. However, the existing news sharing networks may not provide security for data integrity and any third party may obstruct the regular flow of news sharing. Moreover, the existing news schemes are very vulnerable in case of disclosing the identity. Therefore, a universal platform is needed in the era of globalization where anyone can share and trade news from anywhere in the world securely, without the interference of third-party, and without disclosing the identity of an individual. Recently, blockchain has gained popularity because of its security mechanism over data, identity, etc. Blockchain enables a distrib-uted way of managing transactions where each participant of the network holds the same copy of the transactions. Therefore, with the help of pseudonymity, fault-tolerance, immutability and the distributed structure of blockchain, a scheme (termed as NEWSTRADCOIN) is presented in this paper in which not only news can be shared securely but also anyone can earn money by selling news. The proposed NEWSTRADCOIN can provide a universal platform where publishers can directly obtain news from news-gatherers in a secure way by main-taining data integrity, without experiencing the interference of a third-party, and without disclosing the identity of the news gatherer and publishers.

Capacity and outage analysis of a dual-hop decode-and-forward relay-aided NOMA scheme

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) is regarded as a candidate radio access technique for the next generation wireless networks because of its manifold spectral gains. A two-phase cooperative relaying strategy (CRS) is proposed in this paper by exploiting the concept of both downlink and uplink NOMA (termed as DU-CNOMA). In the proposed protocol, a transmitter considered as a source transmits a NOMA composite signal consisting of two symbols to the destination and relay during the first phase, following the principle of downlink NOMA. In the second phase, the relay forwards the symbol decoded by successive interference cancellation to the destination, whereas the source transmits a new symbol to the destination in parallel with the relay, following the principle of uplink NOMA. The ergodic sum capacity, outage probability, and outage sum capacity are investigated comprehensively along with analytical derivations, under both perfect and imperfect successive interference cancellation. The performance improvement of the proposed DU-CNOMA over the conventional CRS using NOMA, is proved through analysis and computer simulation. Furthermore, the correctness of the author's analysis is proved through a strong agreement between simulation and analytical results.

BSSSQS: A Blockchain Based Smart and Secured Scheme for Question Sharing in the Smart Education System

Existing education systems are facing a threat of question paper leaking (QPL) in the exam which jeopardizes the quality of education. Therefore, it is high time to think about a more secure and flexible question sharing system which can prevent QPL issue in the future education system. Blockchain enables a way of creating and storing transactions, contracts or anything that requires protection against tampering, accessing etc. This paper presents a new scheme for smart education, by utilizing the concept of blockchain, for question sharing. A two-phase encryption technique for encrypting question paper (QSP) is proposed. In the first phase, QSPs are encrypted using timestamp and in the second phase, previous encrypted QSPs are encrypted again using a timestamp, salt hash and hashes from previous QSPs. These encrypted QSPs are stored in the blockchain along with a smart contract which helps the user to unlock the selected QSP. An algorithm is also proposed for selecting a QSP for the exam which picks a QSP randomly. Moreover, a timestamp based lock is imposed on the scheme so that no one can decrypt the QSP before the allowed time. Finally, security is analyzed by proving different propositions and the superiority of the proposed scheme over existing schemes is proven through a comparative study based on the different features.

Blockchain based secure data handover scheme in non-orthogonal multiple access

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) with successive interference cancellation receiver is considered as one of the most potent multiple access techniques to be adopted in future wireless communication networks. Data security in the NOMA transmission scheme is on much attention drawing issue. Blockchain is a distributed peer-to-peer network enables a way of protecting information from unauthorized access, tempering etc. By utilizing encryption techniques of blockchain, a secured data communication scheme using blockchain in NOMA is proposed in this paper. A two-phase encryption technique with key generation using different parameter is proposed. In the first-phase data is encrypted by imposing users' public key and in the second phase, a private key of the base station (BS) is engaged for encryption. Finally, the superiority of the proposed scheme over existing scheme is proven through a comparative study based on the different features.

Device-to-Device Communication Facilitating Full-Duplex Cooperative Relaying Using Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access

This letter presents a device-to-device (D2D) enabling cellular full-duplex (FD) cooperative protocol using non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), where an FD relay assists in relaying NOMA far user's signal and transmits a D2D receiver's signal simultaneously. The ergodic capacity, outage probability, and diversity order of the proposed protocol are theoretically investigated under the realistic assumption of imperfect self and known interference cancellation. The Outcome of the investigation demonstrates the performance gain of the suggested protocol over conventional FD cooperative NOMA system.

Distortion-free Golden-Hadamard Codebook Design for MISO Systems

In this letter, a novel Golden-Hadamard codebook (GHC) scheme is proposed to improve the performance of the traditional precoded Alamouti coding for multiple-input and single-output systems. Although the traditional discrete Fourier transform codebook (DFTC) performs satisfactorily with Alamouti coding and offers numerous benefits for the Rayleigh fading channel, this scheme inherently generates huge codeword distortion, which leads to a lower minimum chordal distance (MCD). Furthermore, the uncertain format of all prior versions of codebooks results in poorer minimum determinant (MD) values. Hence, the proposed GHC scheme successfully deals with the issues of traditional DFTC to achieve a better codebook format that completely overcome both MCD and MD problems. The effectiveness of the proposed GHC scheme is confirmed, in terms of bit-error-rate through Monte Carlo simulations.
