GHZ states as near-optimal states for reference frame alignment

Let two coordinate systems, in possession of Alice and Bob, be related to each other by an unknown rotation $R\in SO(3)$. Alice is to send identical states $|ψ_0\ra$ to Bob who will make measurements on the received state and will determine the rotation $R$. The task of Bob is to estimate these parameters of the rotation $R$ by the best possible measurements. Based on the Quantum Fisher Information, we show that Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states are near optimal states for this task. Compared to the optimal states proposed before, the advantage of $GHZ$ states are that they can be more easily prepared experimentally, and more importantly, we show concrete measurements which will allow Bob to determine the rotation $R$. We also study the robustness of these states in keeping their encoded information, against common sources of noises.

Gate-teleportation-based blind quantum computation

Blind quantum computation (BQC) is a model in which a computation is performed on a server by a client such that the server is kept blind about the input, the algorithm, and the output of the computation. Here we layout a general framework for BQC which, unlike the previous BQC models, does not constructed on specific computational model. A main ingredient of our construction is gate teleportation. We demonstrate that our framework can be straightforwardly implemented on circuit-based models as well as measurement-based models of quantum computation. We illustrate our construction by showing that universal BQC is possible on correlation-space measurement-based quantum computation models.

Scheme for measurement-based quantum computation on projected entangled-pair states

Recently it has been shown that projected entangled-pair states can be considered as a (physically motivated) resource state for measurement-based quantum computation. Here we elaborate on how to construct a deterministic measurement-based quantum computation model on projected entangled-pair states. In particular, we use this scheme to build a 4-level many-body model for universal quantum computation on qubits. We also derive a 3-local parent Hamiltonian for this model, whose ground state is non-degenerate.
