Writing and erasing skyrmions by single ultrafast laser pulses in monolayer Janus 2D magnets

Skyrmions in 2D magnets are promising candidates for nonvolatile, low-power, and high-density spintronic memories. However, their experimental realization at the 2D limit remains challenging, owing to the difficulty in engineering the required chiral magnetic interactions. Here, we report the creation and direct imaging of N\'eel-type skyrmions in Janus 2D chromium chalcogenides using synchrotron X-ray photoemission electron microscopy, and scanning nitrogen-vacancy magnetometry, which exhibit field-free stability, nonvolatility, and size tunability. First-principles calculations and micromagnetic simulations reveal that Janus-surface-induced inversion-symmetry breaking enhances the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction, providing the microscopic mechanism for skyrmion stabilization and tunability. We further achieve reversible skyrmion writing and erasing using a single ultrafast laser pulse in a magnetic field as low as 300 Oe, demonstrating the excellent manipulability of this 2D magnetic system. These results establish Janus engineering as a route to creating and manipulating nonvolatile skyrmions in atomically thin magnets, with implications for skyrmion-based low-power spintronic devices.

A Knowledge-Grounded Behavioral Reasoning Framework for Training-Free Urban Healthcare OD Prediction

Understanding urban healthcare mobility is essential for healthcare resource allocation, hospital capacity planning, and resilient urban governance. Existing healthcare origin-destination (OD) prediction methods primarily rely on supervised deep learning, requiring expensive model training while providing limited interpretability into the behavioral mechanisms of hospital choice. This paper presents a training-free urban healthcare OD prediction framework based on knowledge-grounded behavioral reasoning, replacing gradient-based neural network learning with collaborative LLM reasoning over structured urban knowledge. The framework organizes heterogeneous urban information, including healthcare resources, population characteristics, transportation accessibility, weather conditions, and historical mobility, into a unified knowledge graph, enabling evidence retrieval, urban context understanding, behavioral reasoning, preference ranking, and Bayesian verification through a multi-agent reasoning pipeline. Experiments on a real-world Shenzhen dataset containing 137 hospitals and 6,341 prediction tasks demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves CPC = 0.5449, Top-1 = 66.19%, Top-5 = 68.03%, and Top-10 = 74.03%, consistently outperforming conventional deep learning baselines on all Top-K metrics (e.g., Top-5 improves by 22.1% over MLP). Compared with Direct LLM using the same backbone without structured reasoning, the proposed framework improves CPC by 87.5% and Top-1 accuracy by 141%, demonstrating that knowledge-grounded behavioral reasoning, rather than raw LLM capability, is the key to accurate, interpretable, and training-free healthcare OD prediction. These findings highlight the potential of urban intelligence to move healthcare mobility modeling beyond data fitting toward knowledge-driven behavioral reasoning.

TTS-PRISM: A Perceptual Reasoning and Interpretable Speech Model for Fine-Grained Diagnosis

While generative text-to-speech (TTS) models approach human-level quality, monolithic metrics fail to diagnose fine-grained acoustic artifacts or explain perceptual collapse. To address this, we propose TTS-PRISM, a multi-dimensional diagnostic framework for Mandarin. First, we establish a 12-dimensional schema spanning stability to advanced expressiveness. Second, we design a targeted synthesis pipeline with adversarial perturbations and expert anchors to build a high-quality diagnostic dataset. Third, schema-driven instruction tuning embeds explicit scoring criteria and reasoning into an efficient end-to-end model. Experiments on a 1,600-sample Gold Test Set show TTS-PRISM outperforms generalist models in human alignment. Profiling six TTS paradigms establishes intuitive diagnostic flags that reveal fine-grained capability differences. TTS-PRISM is open-source, with code and checkpoints at https://github.com/xiaomi-research/tts-prism.

ControlFoley: Unified and Controllable Video-to-Audio Generation with Cross-Modal Conflict Handling

Recent advances in video-to-audio (V2A) generation enable high-quality audio synthesis from visual content, yet achieving robust and fine-grained controllability remains challenging. Existing methods suffer from weak textual controllability under visual-text conflict and imprecise stylistic control due to entangled temporal and timbre information in reference audio. Moreover, the lack of standardized benchmarks limits systematic evaluation. We propose ControlFoley, a unified multimodal V2A framework that enables precise control over video, text, and reference audio. We introduce a joint visual encoding paradigm that integrates CLIP with a spatio-temporal audio-visual encoder to improve alignment and textual controllability. We further propose temporal-timbre decoupling to suppress redundant temporal cues while preserving discriminative timbre features. In addition, we design a modality-robust training scheme with unified multimodal representation alignment (REPA) and random modality dropout. We also present VGGSound-TVC, a benchmark for evaluating textual controllability under varying degrees of visual-text conflict. Extensive experiments demonstrate state-of-the-art performance across multiple V2A tasks, including text-guided, text-controlled, and audio-controlled generation. ControlFoley achieves superior controllability under cross-modal conflict while maintaining strong synchronization and audio quality, and shows competitive or better performance compared to an industrial V2A system. Code, models, datasets, and demos are available at: https://github.com/xiaomi-research/controlfoley.

Iterate to Differentiate: Enhancing Discriminability and Reliability in Zero-Shot TTS Evaluation

Reliable evaluation of modern zero-shot text-to-speech (TTS) models remains challenging. Subjective tests are costly and hard to reproduce, while objective metrics often saturate, failing to distinguish SOTA systems. To address this, we propose Iterate to Differentiate (I2D), an evaluation framework that recursively synthesizes speech using the model's own outputs as references. Higher-quality models exhibit greater resilience to the distributional shift induced by iterative synthesis, resulting in slower performance degradation. I2D exploits this differential degradation to amplify performance gaps and reveal robustness. By aggregating objective metrics across iterations, I2D improves discriminability and alignment with human judgments, increasing system-level SRCC from 0.118 to 0.464 for UTMOSv2. Experiments on 11 models across Chinese, English, and emotion datasets demonstrate that I2D enables more reliable automated evaluation for zero-shot TTS.

Borderless Long Speech Synthesis

Most existing text-to-speech (TTS) systems either synthesize speech sentence by sentence and stitch the results together, or drive synthesis from plain-text dialogues alone. Both approaches leave models with little understanding of global context or paralinguistic cues, making it hard to capture real-world phenomena such as multi-speaker interactions (interruptions, overlapping speech), evolving emotional arcs, and varied acoustic environments. We introduce the Borderless Long Speech Synthesis framework for agent-centric, borderless long audio synthesis. Rather than targeting a single narrow task, the system is designed as a unified capability set spanning VoiceDesigner, multi-speaker synthesis, Instruct TTS, and long-form text synthesis. On the data side, we propose a "Labeling over filtering/cleaning" strategy and design a top-down, multi-level annotation schema we call Global-Sentence-Token. On the model side, we adopt a backbone with a continuous tokenizer and add Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning together with Dimension Dropout, both of which markedly improve instruction following under complex conditions. We further show that the system is Native Agentic by design: the hierarchical annotation doubles as a Structured Semantic Interface between the LLM Agent and the synthesis engine, creating a layered control protocol stack that spans from scene semantics down to phonetic detail. Text thereby becomes an information-complete, wide-band control channel, enabling a front-end LLM to convert inputs of any modality into structured generation commands, extending the paradigm from Text2Speech to borderless long speech synthesis.

Pareto-guided Pipeline for Distilling Featherweight AI Agents in Mobile MOBA Games

Recent advances in game AI have demonstrated the feasibility of training agents that surpass top-tier human professionals in complex environments such as Honor of Kings (HoK), a leading mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game. However, deploying such powerful agents on mobile devices remains a major challenge. On one hand, the intricate multi-modal state representation and hierarchical action space of HoK demand large, sophisticated policy networks that are inherently difficult to compress into lightweight forms. On the other hand, production deployment requires high-frequency inference under strict energy and latency constraints on mobile platform. To the best of our knowledge, bridging large-scale game AI and practical on-device deployment has not been systematically studied. In this work, we propose a Pareto optimality guided pipeline and design a high-efficiency student architecture search space tailored for mobile execution, enabling systematic exploration of the trade-off between performance and efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate that the distilled model achieves remarkable efficiency, including an $12.4\times$ faster inference speed (under 0.5ms per frame) and a $15.6\times$ improvement in energy efficiency (under 0.5mAh per game), while retaining a 40.32% win rate against the original teacher model.

One Ring to Rule Them All: Unifying Group-Based RL via Dynamic Power-Mean Geometry

Group-based reinforcement learning has evolved from the arithmetic mean of GRPO to the geometric mean of GMPO. While GMPO improves stability by constraining a conservative objective, it shares a fundamental limitation with GRPO: reliance on a fixed aggregation geometry that ignores the evolving and heterogeneous nature of each trajectory. In this work, we unify these approaches under Power-Mean Policy Optimization (PMPO), a generalized framework that parameterizes the aggregation geometry via the power-mean geometry exponent p. Within this framework, GRPO and GMPO are recovered as special cases. Theoretically, we demonstrate that adjusting p modulates the concentration of gradient updates, effectively reweighting tokens based on their advantage contribution. To determine p adaptively, we introduce a Clip-aware Effective Sample Size (ESS) mechanism. Specifically, we propose a deterministic rule that maps a trajectory clipping fraction to a target ESS. Then, we solve for the specific p to align the trajectory induced ESS with this target one. This allows PMPO to dynamically transition between the aggressive arithmetic mean for reliable trajectories and the conservative geometric mean for unstable ones. Experiments on multiple mathematical reasoning benchmarks demonstrate that PMPO outperforms strong baselines.

AdaTooler-V: Adaptive Tool-Use for Images and Videos

Recent advances have shown that multimodal large language models (MLLMs) benefit from multimodal interleaved chain-of-thought (CoT) with vision tool interactions. However, existing open-source models often exhibit blind tool-use reasoning patterns, invoking vision tools even when they are unnecessary, which significantly increases inference overhead and degrades model performance. To this end, we propose AdaTooler-V, an MLLM that performs adaptive tool-use by determining whether a visual problem truly requires tools. First, we introduce AT-GRPO, a reinforcement learning algorithm that adaptively adjusts reward scales based on the Tool Benefit Score of each sample, encouraging the model to invoke tools only when they provide genuine improvements. Moreover, we construct two datasets to support training: AdaTooler-V-CoT-100k for SFT cold start and AdaTooler-V-300k for RL with verifiable rewards across single-image, multi-image, and video data. Experiments across twelve benchmarks demonstrate the strong reasoning capability of AdaTooler-V, outperforming existing methods in diverse visual reasoning tasks. Notably, AdaTooler-V-7B achieves an accuracy of 89.8\% on the high-resolution benchmark V*, surpassing the commercial proprietary model GPT-4o and Gemini 1.5 Pro. All code, models, and data are released.

Emergent Chiral Spin Crystal Phase in (111) SrRuO3 Thin Films

Perovskite ruthenates are fascinating playgrounds for exploring topological spin textures, but generally rely on extrinsic mechanisms to trigger the noncoplanar states. Here we report the discovery of an emergent chiral spin crystal phase in (111) SrRuO3 epitaxial films, characterized by a significant topological Hall effect and noncoplanar spin arrangements with different propagation vectors along two orthogonal directions. Instead of driven by the enhanced Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction due to broken inversion symmetry at heterointerfaces, this emergent state arises intrinsically from the interplay of dipolar interactions and magnetic frustration, leading to the stabilization of topological phases in much thicker films. These findings open a new pathway for creating and controlling the topological spin states in perovskites, with broad implications for spintronic device design.

SyncVoice: Towards Video Dubbing with Vision-Augmented Pretrained TTS Model

Video dubbing aims to generate high-fidelity speech that is precisely temporally aligned with the visual content. Existing methods still suffer from limitations in speech naturalness and audio-visual synchronization, and are limited to monolingual settings. To address these challenges, we propose SyncVoice, a vision-augmented video dubbing framework built upon a pretrained text-to-speech (TTS) model. By fine-tuning the TTS model on audio-visual data, we achieve strong audiovisual consistency. We propose a Dual Speaker Encoder to effectively mitigate inter-language interference in cross-lingual speech synthesis and explore the application of video dubbing in video translation scenarios. Experimental results show that SyncVoice achieves high-fidelity speech generation with strong synchronization performance, demonstrating its potential in video dubbing tasks.

DiffRhythm 2: Efficient and High Fidelity Song Generation via Block Flow Matching

Generating full-length, high-quality songs is challenging, as it requires maintaining long-term coherence both across text and music modalities and within the music modality itself. Existing non-autoregressive (NAR) frameworks, while capable of producing high-quality songs, often struggle with the alignment between lyrics and vocal. Concurrently, catering to diverse musical preferences necessitates reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF). However, existing methods often rely on merging multiple models during multi-preference optimization, which results in significant performance degradation. To address these challenges, we introduce DiffRhythm 2, an end-to-end framework designed for high-fidelity, controllable song generation. To tackle the lyric alignment problem, DiffRhythm 2 employs a semi-autoregressive architecture based on block flow matching. This design enables faithful alignment of lyrics to singing vocals without relying on external labels and constraints, all while preserving the high generation quality and efficiency of NAR models. To make this framework computationally tractable for long sequences, we implement a music variational autoencoder (VAE) that achieves a low frame rate of 5 Hz while still enabling high-fidelity audio reconstruction. In addition, to overcome the limitations of multi-preference optimization in RLHF, we propose cross-pair preference optimization. This method effectively mitigates the performance drop typically associated with model merging, allowing for more robust optimization across diverse human preferences. We further enhance musicality and structural coherence by introducing stochastic block representation alignment loss.

DiffRhythm+: Controllable and Flexible Full-Length Song Generation with Preference Optimization

Songs, as a central form of musical art, exemplify the richness of human intelligence and creativity. While recent advances in generative modeling have enabled notable progress in long-form song generation, current systems for full-length song synthesis still face major challenges, including data imbalance, insufficient controllability, and inconsistent musical quality. DiffRhythm, a pioneering diffusion-based model, advanced the field by generating full-length songs with expressive vocals and accompaniment. However, its performance was constrained by an unbalanced model training dataset and limited controllability over musical style, resulting in noticeable quality disparities and restricted creative flexibility. To address these limitations, we propose DiffRhythm+, an enhanced diffusion-based framework for controllable and flexible full-length song generation. DiffRhythm+ leverages a substantially expanded and balanced training dataset to mitigate issues such as repetition and omission of lyrics, while also fostering the emergence of richer musical skills and expressiveness. The framework introduces a multi-modal style conditioning strategy, enabling users to precisely specify musical styles through both descriptive text and reference audio, thereby significantly enhancing creative control and diversity. We further introduce direct performance optimization aligned with user preferences, guiding the model toward consistently preferred outputs across evaluation metrics. Extensive experiments demonstrate that DiffRhythm+ achieves significant improvements in naturalness, arrangement complexity, and listener satisfaction over previous systems.

Vision-EKIPL: External Knowledge-Infused Policy Learning for Visual Reasoning

Visual reasoning is crucial for understanding complex multimodal data and advancing Artificial General Intelligence. Existing methods enhance the reasoning capability of Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) through Reinforcement Learning (RL) fine-tuning (e.g., GRPO). However, current RL approaches sample action groups solely from the policy model itself, which limits the upper boundary of the model's reasoning capability and leads to inefficient training. To address these limitations, this paper proposes a novel RL framework called \textbf{Vision-EKIPL}. The core of this framework lies in introducing high-quality actions generated by external auxiliary models during the RL training process to guide the optimization of the policy model. The policy learning with knowledge infusion from external models significantly expands the model's exploration space, effectively improves the reasoning boundary, and substantially accelerates training convergence speed and efficiency. Experimental results demonstrate that our proposed Vision-EKIPL achieved up to a 5\% performance improvement on the Reason-RFT-CoT Benchmark compared to the state-of-the-art (SOTA). It reveals that Vision-EKIPL can overcome the limitations of traditional RL methods, significantly enhance the visual reasoning performance of MLLMs, and provide a new effective paradigm for research in this field.

StarVC: A Unified Auto-Regressive Framework for Joint Text and Speech Generation in Voice Conversion

Voice Conversion (VC) modifies speech to match a target speaker while preserving linguistic content. Traditional methods usually extract speaker information directly from speech while neglecting the explicit utilization of linguistic content. Since VC fundamentally involves disentangling speaker identity from linguistic content, leveraging structured semantic features could enhance conversion performance. However, previous attempts to incorporate semantic features into VC have shown limited effectiveness, motivating the integration of explicit text modeling. We propose StarVC, a unified autoregressive VC framework that first predicts text tokens before synthesizing acoustic features. The experiments demonstrate that StarVC outperforms conventional VC methods in preserving both linguistic content (i.e., WER and CER) and speaker characteristics (i.e., SECS and MOS). Audio demo can be found at: https://thuhcsi.github.io/StarVC/.

Towards Expressive Zero-Shot Speech Synthesis with Hierarchical Prosody Modeling

Recent research in zero-shot speech synthesis has made significant progress in speaker similarity. However, current efforts focus on timbre generalization rather than prosody modeling, which results in limited naturalness and expressiveness. To address this, we introduce a novel speech synthesis model trained on large-scale datasets, including both timbre and hierarchical prosody modeling. As timbre is a global attribute closely linked to expressiveness, we adopt a global vector to model speaker timbre while guiding prosody modeling. Besides, given that prosody contains both global consistency and local variations, we introduce a diffusion model as the pitch predictor and employ a prosody adaptor to model prosody hierarchically, further enhancing the prosody quality of the synthesized speech. Experimental results show that our model not only maintains comparable timbre quality to the baseline but also exhibits better naturalness and expressiveness.

Mini Honor of Kings: A Lightweight Environment for Multi-Agent Reinforcement Learning

Games are widely used as research environments for multi-agent reinforcement learning (MARL), but they pose three significant challenges: limited customization, high computational demands, and oversimplification. To address these issues, we introduce the first publicly available map editor for the popular mobile game Honor of Kings and design a lightweight environment, Mini Honor of Kings (Mini HoK), for researchers to conduct experiments. Mini HoK is highly efficient, allowing experiments to be run on personal PCs or laptops while still presenting sufficient challenges for existing MARL algorithms. We have tested our environment on common MARL algorithms and demonstrated that these algorithms have yet to find optimal solutions within this environment. This facilitates the dissemination and advancement of MARL methods within the research community. Additionally, we hope that more researchers will leverage the Honor of Kings map editor to develop innovative and scientifically valuable new maps. Our code and user manual are available at: https://github.com/tencent-ailab/mini-hok.

Weak antilocalization and localization in Eu$_2$Ir$_2$O$_7$ (111) thin films by reactive solid phase epitaxy

Thin films of the pyrochlore iridates along the [111] direction have drawn significant attention to investigate exotic correlated topological phenomena. Here, we report the fabrication of Eu$_2$Ir$_2$O$_7$ thin films via reactive solid phase epitaxy using the pulsed laser deposition technique. We mainly focus on the transport properties of the films below the magnetic phase transition at 105 K. Analyses on the temperature and the field dependences of resistivity unveil the presence of weak antilocalization, a characteristic signature of the Weyl semimetallic state that has been "buried" by magnetism. Moreover, it is noteworthy that the contribution from many-body interactions in Eu2Ir2O7 thin films is enhanced at lower temperatures and competes with the weak antilocalization effect, and eventually drives the crossover to weak localization at 2 K.
