HQ-MPSD: A Multilingual Artifact-Controlled Benchmark for Partial Deepfake Speech Detection

Detecting partial deepfake speech is challenging because manipulations occur only in short regions while the surrounding audio remains authentic. However, existing detection methods are fundamentally limited by the quality of available datasets, many of which rely on outdated synthesis systems and generation procedures that introduce dataset-specific artifacts rather than realistic manipulation cues. To address this gap, we introduce HQ-MPSD, a high-quality multilingual partial deepfake speech dataset. HQ-MPSD is constructed using linguistically coherent splice points derived from fine-grained forced alignment, preserving prosodic and semantic continuity and minimizing audible and visual boundary artifacts. The dataset contains 350.8 hours of speech across eight languages and 550 speakers, with background effects added to better reflect real-world acoustic conditions. MOS evaluations and spectrogram analysis confirm the high perceptual naturalness of the samples. We benchmark state-of-the-art detection models through cross-language and cross-dataset evaluations, and all models experience performance drops exceeding 80% on HQ-MPSD. These results demonstrate that HQ-MPSD exposes significant generalization challenges once low-level artifacts are removed and multilingual and acoustic diversity are introduced, providing a more realistic and demanding benchmark for partial deepfake detection. Millimeter-Wave Position Sensing Using Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces: Positioning Error Bound and Phase Shift Configuration

Millimeter-wave (mmWave) positioning has emerged as a promising technology for next-generation intelligent systems. The advent of reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) has revolutionized high-precision mmWave localization by enabling dynamic manipulation of wireless propagation environments. This paper investigates a three-dimensional (3D) multi-input single-output (MISO) mmWave positioning system assisted by multiple RISs. We introduce a measurement framework incorporating sequential RIS activation and directional beamforming to fully exploit virtual line-of-sight (VLoS) paths. The theoretical performance limits are rigorously analyzed through derivation of the Fisher information and subsequent positioning error bound (PEB). To minimize the PEB, two distinct optimization approaches are proposed for continuous and discrete phase shift configurations of RISs. For continuous phase shifts, a Riemannian manifold-based optimization algorithm is proposed. For discrete phase shifts, a heuristic algorithm incorporating the grey wolf optimizer is proposed. Extensive numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms in reducing the PEB and validate the improvement in positioning accuracy achieved by multiple RISs.

A Fingerprint Database Generation Method for RIS-Assisted Indoor Positioning

Reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) has emerged as a promising technology to enhance indoor wireless communication and sensing performance. However, the construction of reliable received signal strength (RSS)-based fingerprint databases for RIS-assisted indoor positioning remains an open challenge due to the lack of realistic and spatially consistent channel modeling methods. In this paper, we propose a novel method with open-source code for generating RIS-assisted RSS fingerprint databases. Our method captures the complex RIS-assisted multipath behaviors by extended cluster-based channel modeling and the physical and electromagnetic properties of RIS and transmitter (Tx). And the spatial consistency is incorporated when simulating the fingerprint data collection across neighboring positions. Moreover, an effective sorting algorithm is proposed to solve the online synchronization issue, a closed-form RIS phase configuration strategy is proposed to improve the localization accuracy, and the modeling method of mutual coupling (MC) effect is provided. Extensive simulations are conducted to evaluate the fingerprint database generated by the proposed method. And the positioning performance on the database using different algorithms is analyzed, providing valuable insights for the system design.

Frame-level Temporal Difference Learning for Partial Deepfake Speech Detection

Detecting partial deepfake speech is essential due to its potential for subtle misinformation. However, existing methods depend on costly frame-level annotations during training, limiting real-world scalability. Also, they focus on detecting transition artifacts between bonafide and deepfake segments. As deepfake generation techniques increasingly smooth these transitions, detection has become more challenging. To address this, our work introduces a new perspective by analyzing frame-level temporal differences and reveals that deepfake speech exhibits erratic directional changes and unnatural local transitions compared to bonafide speech. Based on this finding, we propose a Temporal Difference Attention Module (TDAM) that redefines partial deepfake detection as identifying unnatural temporal variations, without relying on explicit boundary annotations. A dual-level hierarchical difference representation captures temporal irregularities at both fine and coarse scales, while adaptive average pooling preserves essential patterns across variable-length inputs to minimize information loss. Our TDAM-AvgPool model achieves state-of-the-art performance, with an EER of 0.59% on the PartialSpoof dataset and 0.03% on the HAD dataset, which significantly outperforms the existing methods without requiring frame-level supervision.

Interpretable Temporal Class Activation Representation for Audio Spoofing Detection

Explaining the decisions made by audio spoofing detection models is crucial for fostering trust in detection outcomes. However, current research on the interpretability of detection models is limited to applying XAI tools to post-trained models. In this paper, we utilize the wav2vec 2.0 model and attentive utterance-level features to integrate interpretability directly into the model's architecture, thereby enhancing transparency of the decision-making process. Specifically, we propose a class activation representation to localize the discriminative frames contributing to detection. Furthermore, we demonstrate that multi-label training based on spoofing types, rather than binary labels as bonafide and spoofed, enables the model to learn distinct characteristics of different attacks, significantly improving detection performance. Our model achieves state-of-the-art results, with an EER of 0.51% and a min t-DCF of 0.0165 on the ASVspoof2019-LA set.

Improving PTM Site Prediction by Coupling of Multi-Granularity Structure and Multi-Scale Sequence Representation

Protein post-translational modification (PTM) site prediction is a fundamental task in bioinformatics. Several computational methods have been developed to predict PTM sites. However, existing methods ignore the structure information and merely utilize protein sequences. Furthermore, designing a more fine-grained structure representation learning method is urgently needed as PTM is a biological event that occurs at the atom granularity. In this paper, we propose a PTM site prediction method by Coupling of Multi-Granularity structure and Multi-Scale sequence representation, PTM-CMGMS for brevity. Specifically, multigranularity structure-aware representation learning is designed to learn neighborhood structure representations at the amino acid, atom, and whole protein granularity from AlphaFold predicted structures, followed by utilizing contrastive learning to optimize the structure representations.Additionally, multi-scale sequence representation learning is used to extract context sequence information, and motif generated by aligning all context sequences of PTM sites assists the prediction. Extensive experiments on three datasets show that PTM-CMGMS outperforms the state-of-the-art methods.

LSBN: A Large-Scale Bayesian Structure Learning Framework for Model Averaging

The motivation for this paper is to apply Bayesian structure learning using Model Averaging in large-scale networks. Currently, Bayesian model averaging algorithm is applicable to networks with only tens of variables, restrained by its super-exponential complexity. We present a novel framework, called LSBN(Large-Scale Bayesian Network), making it possible to handle networks with infinite size by following the principle of divide-and-conquer. The method of LSBN comprises three steps. In general, LSBN first performs the partition by using a second-order partition strategy, which achieves more robust results. LSBN conducts sampling and structure learning within each overlapping community after the community is isolated from other variables by Markov Blanket. Finally LSBN employs an efficient algorithm, to merge structures of overlapping communities into a whole. In comparison with other four state-of-art large-scale network structure learning algorithms such as ARACNE, PC, Greedy Search and MMHC, LSBN shows comparable results in five common benchmark datasets, evaluated by precision, recall and f-score. What's more, LSBN makes it possible to learn large-scale Bayesian structure by Model Averaging which used to be intractable. In summary, LSBN provides an scalable and parallel framework for the reconstruction of network structures. Besides, the complete information of overlapping communities serves as the byproduct, which could be used to mine meaningful clusters in biological networks, such as protein-protein-interaction network or gene regulatory network, as well as in social network.
