The t-Split Two-Periodic Aztec Diamond Model

In this work we consider an Aztec diamond model split into two unequal regions which are asymptotically fixed in size. Each region is weighted with a distinct two-periodic weighting. We refer to this model as the t-split two-periodic Aztec diamond, to signify its difference from the previous work title Split Two-Periodic Aztec Diamond, where the model was split into two equal regions. We derive an integral expression for the correlation kernel of the model and give a partial description of the scaling limit behavior, along with a conjecture for the remainder. We refer to the larger and smaller sides of the model as the dominant and non-dominant sides, and to the location of the weight change as the interface. The dominant side exhibits a limit shape that depends only on its own weighting and is identical to that of the two-periodic Aztec diamond, while the non-dominant side appears to have a novel limit shape that depends on both weightings and the location of the interface. Lastly, we consider the complete limit shape in the case where the dominant side two-periodic parameter goes to 0.

Split Two-Periodic Aztec Diamond

Recent advancements have been made to understand the statistics of the Aztec diamond dimer model under general periodic weights. In this work we define a model that breaks periodicity in one direction by combining two different two-periodic weightings. We compute the correlation kernel for this Aztec diamond dimer model by extending the methods developed by Berggren and Duits (2019), which utilize the Eynard-Mehta theorem and a Wiener-Hopf factorization. From a form of the correlation kernel that is suitable for asymptotics, we compute the local asymptotics of the model in the different macroscopic regions present. We prove that the local asymptotics of the model agree with the typical two-periodic model in the highest order, however the sub-leading order terms are affected.

Dimer model on the square lattice with interface

In this exposition, we consider the dimer problem on an infinite square lattice with partially non-periodic edge weights, which we refer to as the square lattice with interface. In particular, we compute an exact integral form of the inverse Kasteleyn operator and study its asymptotics behavior in different regions of the lattice to gain a general understanding of the local statistics of the model.

Generalized Gelfand-Yaglom Formula for a Discretized Quantum Mechanic System

The Gelfand-Yaglom formula relates the regularized determinant of a differential operator to the solution of an initial value problem. Here we develop a generalized Gelfand-Yaglom formula for a Hamiltonian system with Lagrangian boundary conditions in the discrete and continuous settings. Later we analyze the convergence of the discretized Hamilton-Jacobi operator and propose a lattice regularization for the determinant.
