Eigenfrequencies and expansions for damped wave equations

We study eigenfrequencies and propagator expansions for damped wave equations on compact manifolds. Under the assumption of geometric control, the propagator is shown to admit an expansion in terms of finitely many eigenmodes near the real axis, with an error term exponentially decaying in time. In the presence of a nondegenerate elliptic closed geodesic not meeting the support of the damping coefficient, we show that there exists a sequence of eigenfrequencies converging rapidly to the real axis. In the case of Zoll manifolds, we show that the propagator can be expanded in terms of clusters of the eigenfrequencies in the entire spectral band.

Non-selfadjoint perturbations of selfadjoint operators in 2 dimensions I

This is the first in a series of works devoted to small non-selfadjoint perturbations of selfadjoint $h$-pseudodifferential operators in dimension 2. In the present work we treat the case when the classical flow of the unperturbed part is periodic and the strength $ε$ of the perturbation is $\gg h$ (or sometimes only $\gg h^2$) and bounded from above by $h^δ$ for some $δ>0$. We get a complete asymptotic description of all eigenvalues in certain rectangles $[-1/C, 1/C]+ iε[F_0-1/C,F_0+1/C]$.

Regularized traces and Taylor expansions for the heat semigroup

We compute the coefficients in asymptotics of regularized traces and associated trace (spectral) distributions for Schrodinger operators, with short and long range potentials. A kernel expansion for the Schrodinger semigroup is derived, and a connection with non-commutative Taylor formulas is established.
