Martingale approach to Sobolev embedding theorems

We prove a martingale analog of van Schaftingen's theorem and give sharp estimates on the lower Hausdorff dimension of measures in martingale shift invariant spaces. We also provide martingale analogs of trace theorems for Sobolev functions.

Independent sums of $H^1_n(\mathbb{T})$ and $H^1_n(δ)$

We construct a new idempotent Fourier multiplier on the Hardy space on the bidisc, which could not be obtained by applying known one dimentional results. The main tool is a new $L^1$ equivalent of the Stein martingale inequality which holds for a special filtration of periodic subsets of $\mathbb{T}$ with some restrictions on the functions involved. We also identify the isomorphic type of the range of the associated operator as the independent sum of dyadic $H^1_n$, which is known to be a complemented and invariant subspace of dyadic $H^1$.

Anisotropic Ornstein non inequalities

We investigate existence of a priori estimates for differential operators in $L^1$ norm: for anisotropic homogeneous differential operators $T_1, \ldots , T_{\ell}$, we study the conditions under which the inequality $$ \|T_1 f\|_{L_1(\mathbb{R}^d)} \lesssim \sum\limits_{j = 2}^{\ell}\|T_j f\|_{L_1(\mathbb{R}^d)} $$ holds true. We also discuss a similar problem for martingale transforms.

Dimension of gradient measures

We prove that if pure derivatives with respect to all coordinates of a function on $\mathbb{R}^n$ are signed measures, then their lower Hausdorff dimension is at least $n-1$. The derivatives with respect to different coordinates may be of different order.
