A coupling between random walks in random environments and Brox's diffusion

It is known that a properly rescaled version of Sinai's random walk converges in distribution to Brox's diffusion. In this article we quantify this convergence by considering a specific coupling between Sinai's walk and Brox's diffusion. Our method relies on convergence results for martingale problems considered in the rough path setting.

Kinetic time-inhomogeneous L{\'e}vy-driven model

We study a one-dimensional kinetic stochastic model driven by a L{\'e}vy process with a non-linear time-inhomogeneous drift. More precisely, the process $(V,X)$ is considered, where $X$ is the position of the particle and its velocity $V$ is the solution of a stochastic differential equation with a drift of the form $t^{-\beta}F(v)$. The driving process can be a stable L{\'e}vy process of index $\alpha$ or a general L{\'e}vy process under appropriate assumptions. The function $F$ satisfies a homogeneity condition and $\beta$ is non-negative. The behavior in large time of the process $(V,X)$ is proved and the precise rate of convergence is pointed out by using stochastic analysis tools. To this end, we compute the moment estimates of the velocity process.

Asymptotic behaviour for a time-inhomogeneous Kolmogorov type diffusion

We study a kinetic stochastic model with a non-linear time-inhomogeneous drag force and a Brownian-type random force. More precisely, the Kolmogorov type diffusion $(V,X)$ is considered: here $X$ is the position of the particle and $V$ is its velocity and is solution of a stochastic differential equation driven by a one-dimensional Brownian motion, with the drift of the form $t^{-\beta}F(v)$. The function $F$ satisfies some homogeneity condition and $\beta$ is positive. The behaviour of the process $(V,X)$ in large time is proved by using stochastic analysis tools.

Locally Feller processes and martingale local problems

This paper is devoted to the study of a certain type of martingale problems associated to general operators corresponding to processes which have finite lifetime. We analyse several properties and in particular the weak convergence of sequences of solutions for an appropriate Skorokhod topology setting. We point out the Feller-type features of the associated solutions to this type of martingale problem. Then localisation theorems for well-posed martingale problems or for corresponding generators are proved.

Lévy-type processes: convergence and discrete schemes

We characterise the convergence of a certain class of discrete time Markov processes toward locally Feller processes in terms of convergence of associated operators. The theory of locally Feller processes is applied to Lévy-type processes in order to obtain convergence results on discrete and continuous time indexed processes, simulation methods and Euler schemes. We also apply the same theory to a slightly different situation, in order to get results of convergence of diffusions or random walks toward singular diffusions. As a consequence we deduce the convergence of random walks in random medium toward diffusions in random potential.

Local Skorokhod topology on the space of cadlag processes

We modify the global Skorokhod topology, on the space of cadlag paths, by localising with respect to space variable, in order to include the eventual explosions. The tightness of families of probability measures on the paths space endowed with this local Skorokhod topology is studied and a characterization of Aldous type is obtained. The local and global Skorokhod topologies are compared by using a time change transformation. A number of results in the paper should play an important role when studying Lévy-type processes with unbounded coefficients by martingale problem approach.

Existence and asymptotic behaviour of some time-inhomogeneous diffusions

Let us consider a solution of the time-inhomogeneous stochastic differential equation driven by a Brownian motion with drift coefficient $b(t,x)=ρ\,{\rm sgn}(x)|x|^α/t^β$. This process can be viewed as a distorted Brownian motion in a potential, possibly singular, depending on time. After obtaining results on existence and uniqueness of solution, we study its asymptotic behaviour and made a precise description, in terms of parameters $ρ,α$ and $β$, of the recurrence, transience and convergence. More precisely, asymptotic distributions, iterated logarithm type laws and rates of transience and explosion are proved for such processes.

Milstein's type schemes for fractional SDEs

Weighted power variations of fractional Brownian motion B are used to compute the exact rate of convergence of some approximating schemes associated to one-dimensional stochastic differential equations (SDEs) driven by B. The limit of the error between the exact solution and the considered scheme is computed explicitly.

On homogeneous pinning models and penalizations

In this note, we show how the penalization method, introduced in order to describe some non-trivial changes of the Wiener measure, can be applied to the study of some simple polymer models such as the pinning model. The bulk of the analysis is then focused on the study of a martingale which has to be computed as a Markovian limit.
