A universal cloner allowing the input to be arbitrary states in symmetric subspace

A generalized universal quantum cloning machine is proposed which allows the input to be arbitrary states in symmetric subspace. And it reduces to the universal quantum cloning machine (UQCM) if the input are identical pure states. The generalized cloner is optimal in the sense we compare the input and output reduced density operators at a single qubit. The result for qubits is extended to arbitrary-dimensional states.

Integrable boundary impurities in the t-J model with different gradings

We investigate the generalized supersymmetric $t-J$ model with boundary impurities in different gradings. All three different gradings: fermion, fermion, boson (FFB), boson, fermion, fermion (BFF) and fermion, boson, fermion (FBF), are studied for the generalized supersymmetric $t-J$ model. Boundary K-matrix operators are found for the different gradings. By using the graded algebraic Bethe ansatz method, we obtain the eigenvalues and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations for the transfer matrix.

Bosonic and Fermionic Eigenstates for Generalized Sutherland Models

We construct bosonic and fermionic eigenstates for the generalized Sutherland models associated with arbitrary reduced root systems respectively, through W-symmetrization and W-anti-symmetrization of Heckman-Opdam's nonsymmetric Jacobi polynomials. Square norms of the nonsymmetric Heckman-Opdam polynomials are evaluated from their Rodrigues formulae. The W-symmetrization and W-anti-symmetrization of the nonsymmetric polynomials enable us to evaluate square norms of bosonic and fermionic eigenstates for the generalized Sutherland models.

Asymptotic form of two-point correlation function of the XXZ spin chain

Correlation functions of the XXZ spin chain in the critical regime is studied at zero-temperature. They are exactly represented in the Fredholm determinant form and are related with an operator-valued Riemann-Hilbert problem. Analyzing this problem we prove that a two-point correlation function consisting of sufficiently separated spin operators is expressed by power-functions of the distance between those operators.

Stability of Bose-Einstein Condensates Confined in Traps

Bose-Einstein condensation has been realized in dilute atomic vapors. This achievement has generated immerse interest in this field. Presented is a review of recent theoretical research into the properties of trapped dilute-gas Bose-Einstein condensates. Among them, stability of Bose-Einstein condensates confined in traps is mainly discussed. Static properties of the ground state are investigated by use of the variational method. The anlysis is extended to the stability of two-component condensates. Time-development of the condensate is well-described by the Gross-Pitaevskii equation which is known in nonlinear physics as the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. For the case that the inter-atomic potential is effectively attractive, a singularity of the solution emerges in a finite time. This phenomenon which we call collapse explains the upper bound for the number of atoms in such condensates under traps.

Bethe ansatz for the SU(4) extension of the Hubbard Model

We apply the nested algebraic Bethe ansatz method to solve the eigenvalue problem for the SU(4) extension of the Hubbard model. The Hamiltonian is equivalent to the SU(4) graded permutation operator. The graded Yang-Baxter equation and the graded Quantum Inverse Scattering Method are used to obtain the eigenvalue of the SU(4) extension of the Hubbard model.

Gaudin Hypothesis for the XYZ Spin Chain

The XYZ spin chain is considered in the framework of the generalized algebraic Bethe ansatz developed by Takhtajan and Faddeev. The sum of norms of the Bethe vectors is computed and expressed in the form of a Jacobian. This result corresponds to the Gaudin hypothesis for the XYZ spin chain.

Exact diagonalization of the generalized supersymmetric t-J model with boundaries

We study the generalized supersymmetric $t-J$ model with boundaries in three different gradings: FFB, BFF and FBF. Starting from the trigonometric R-matrix, and in the framework of the graded quantum inverse scattering method (QISM), we solve the eigenvalue problems for the supersymmetric $t-J$ model. A detailed calculations are presented to obtain the eigenvalues and Bethe ansatz equations of the supersymmetric $t-J$ model with boundaries in three different backgrounds.

Fermionic R-operator approach for the small-polaron model with open boundary condition

Exact integrability and algebraic Bethe ansatz of the small-polaron model with the open boundary condition are discussed in the framework of the quantum inverse scattering method (QISM). We employ a new approach where the fermionic R-operator which consists of fermion operators is a key object. It satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation and the reflection equation with its corresponding K-operator. Two kinds of 'super-transposition' for the fermion operators are defined and the dual reflection equation is obtained. These equations prove the integrability and the Bethe ansatz equation which agrees with the one obtained from the graded Yang-Baxter equation and the graded reflection equations.

Multi-Field Integrable Systems Related to WKI-Type Eigenvalue Problems

Higher flows of the Heisenberg ferromagnet equation and the Wadati-Konno-Ichikawa equation are generalized into multi-component systems on the basis of the Lax formulation. It is shown that there is a correspondence between the multi-component systems through a gauge transformation. An integrable semi-discretization of the multi-component higher Heisenberg ferromagnet system is obtained.

Boundary Kondo impurities in the generalized supersymmetric t-J model

We study the generalized supersymmetric t-J model with Kondo impurities in the boundaries. We first construct the higher spin operator K-matrix for the XXZ Heisenberg chain. Setting the boundary parameter to be a special value, we find a higher spin reflecting K-matrix for the supersymmetric t-J model. By using the Quantum Inverse Scattering Method, we obtain the eigenvalue and the corresponding Bethe ansatz equations.

Rodrigues Formula for the Nonsymmetric Multivariable Laguerre Polynomial

Extending a method developed by Takamura and Takano, we present the Rodrigues formula for the nonsymmetric multivariable Laguerre polynomials which form the orthogonal basis for the $B_{N}$-type Calogero model with distinguishable particles. Our construction makes it possible for the first time to algebraically generate all the nonsymmetric multivariable Laguerre polynomials with different parities for each variable.

Spontaneous Magnetization in the Finite XXZ Spin Chain with Boundaries

The finite XXZ spin chain with boundaries is studied. We derive the transfer matrix from the q-difference equation discovered by Cherednik and construct its eigenstates by the vertex operator approach. We point out that the eigenstates with no magnetic fields have a symmetry called the turning symmetry. Making use of this symmetry we calculate the spontaneous magnetization in the thermodynamic limit, which is roughly twice as large as that in the half-infinite XXZ spin chain.

Finite Size Formula in the XYZ Spin Chain

The XYZ spin chain with boundaries is studied. We construct the vacuum state by the vertex operators in the level one modules of the elliptic algebra, and compact it through a geometric symmetry of the model called the turning symmetry. From this simplified expression the ``finite size formula'' for magnetizations in the bounded and in the half-infinite chains is deduced. Applying this formula we calculate the spontaneous magnetization in the bounded XYZ model.
