Expanding solitons with non-negative curvature operator coming out of cones

We consider Ricci flow of complete Riemannian manifolds which have bounded non-negative curvature operator, non-zero asymptotic volume ratio and no boundary. We prove scale invariant estimates for these solutions. Using these estimates, we show that there is a limit solution, obtained by scaling down this solution at a fixed point in space. This limit solution is an expanding soliton coming out of the asymptotic cone at infinity.

Stability of hyperbolic space under Ricci flow

We study the Ricci flow of initial metrics which are C^0-perturbations of the hyperbolic metric on H^n. If the perturbation is bounded in the L^2-sense, and small enough in the C^0-sense, then we show the following: In dimensions four and higher, the scaled Ricci harmonic map heat flow of such a metric converges smoothly, uniformly and exponentially fast in all C^k-norms and in the L^2-norm to the hyperbolic metric as time approaches infinity. We also prove a related result for the Ricci flow and for the two-dimensional conformal Ricci flow.

Ricci flow of non-collapsed 3-manifolds whose Ricci curvature is bounded from below

We consider complete (possibly non-compact) three dimensional Riemannian manifolds (M,g) such that: a) (M,g) is non-collapsed, b) the Ricci curvature of (M,g) is bounded from below, c) the geometry of (M,g) at infinity is not too extreme. Given such initial data (M,g) we show that a Ricci flow exists for a short time interval. This enables us to construct a Ricci flow of any (possibly singular) metric space (X,d) which arises as a Gromov-Hausdorff limit of a sequence of 3-manifolds which satisfy a), b) and c) uniformly. As a corollary we show that such an X must be a manifold.

Stability of Euclidean space under Ricci flow

We study the Ricci flow for initial metrics which are C^0 small perturbations of the Euclidean metric on R^n. In the case that this metric is asymptotically Euclidean, we show that a Ricci harmonic map heat flow exists for all times, and converges uniformly to the Euclidean metric as time approaches infinity. In proving this stability result, we introduce a monotone integral quantity which measures the deviation of the evolving metric from the Euclidean metric. We also investigate the convergence of the diffeomorphisms relating Ricci harmonic map heat flow to Ricci flow.

Ricci flow of almost non-negatively curved three manifolds

In this paper we study the evolution of almost non-negatively curved (possibly singular) three dimensional metric spaces by Ricci flow. The non-negatively curved metric spaces which we consider arise as limits of smooth Riemannian manifolds (M_i,g_i), i \in N, whose Ricci curvature is not less than -c^2(i), where c^2(i) goes to zero as i goes to infinity, and whose diameter is bounded by a constant independent of i, and whose volume is bounded from below by a positive constant independent of i. We show for such spaces, that a solution to Ricci flow exists for a short time, and that the solution is smooth for all positive times and that it has non-negative Ricci curvature. This allows us to classify the topological type and the differential structure of the limit manifold (in view of Hamilton's Theorem on closed three manifolds with non-negative Ricci curvature).
