Asymptotics of a two-species particle system associated to the doubly parabolic Keller-Segel equation in the plane

We consider the two-species particle system introduced by Stevens (2000) related to the doubly parabolic Keller-Segel equation. It consists of $N$ cells and of a varying number of chemoattractant particles. Cells diffuse in the plane and follow the (mollified) empirical gradient of concentration of chemoattractant. Chemoattractant particles are produced by cells at some constant rate, diffuse and disappear at some constant rate. We show that when the sensitivity of cells to the chemoattractant is small enough, under some rather weak condition on the family of mollifiers, this system approximates the parabolic-parabolic Keller-Segel equation as $N\to \infty$. We also prove that when $N$ is fixed and when the production rate of chemoattractant particles tends to infinity, this system approximates the (non-Markovian) one-species system introduced Talay-Tomašević (2020) and further studied by the authors (2023).

Propagation of chaos for stochastic particle systems with singular mean-field interaction of $L^q-L^p$ type

In this work, we prove the well-posedness and propagation of chaos for a stochastic particle system in mean-field interaction under the assumption that the interacting kernel belongs to a suitable $L_t^q-L_x^p$ space. Contrary to the large deviation principle approach recently proposed in [2], the main ingredient of the proof here are the \textit{Partial Girsanov transformations} introduced in [3] and developed in a general setting in this work.

On a multi-dimensional McKean-Vlasov SDE with memorial and singular interaction associated to the parabolic-parabolic Keller-Segel model

In this work we firstly prove the well-posedness of the non-linear martingale problem related to a McKean-Vlasov stochastic differential equation with singular interaction kernel in $\mathbb{R}^d$ for $d\geq 3$. The particularity of our setting is that the McKean-Vlasov process we study interacts at each time with all its past time marginal laws by means of a singular space-time kernel. Secondly, we prove that our stochastic process is a probabilistic interpretation for the parabolic-parabolic Keller-Segel system in $\mathbb{R}^d$. We thus obtain a well-posedness result to the latter under explicit smallness condition on the parameters of the model.

Reducing exit-times of diffusions with repulsive interactions

In this work we prove a Kramers' type law for the low-temperature behavior of the exit-times from a metastable state for a class of self-interacting nonlinear diffusion processes. Contrary to previous works, the interaction is not assumed to be convex, which means that this result covers cases where the exit-time for the interacting process is smaller than the exit-time for the associated non-interacting process. The technique of the proof is based on the fact that, under an appropriate contraction condition, the interacting process is conveniently coupled with a non-interacting (linear) Markov process where the interacting law is replaced by a constant Dirac mass at the fixed point of the deterministic zero-temperature process.
