Multi-Crit: Benchmarking Multimodal Judges on Pluralistic Criteria-Following

Large multimodal models (LMMs) are increasingly adopted as judges in multimodal evaluation systems due to their strong instruction following and consistency with human preferences. However, their ability to follow diverse, fine-grained evaluation criteria remains underexplored. We develop Multi-Crit, a benchmark for evaluating multimodal judges on their capacity to follow pluralistic criteria and produce reliable criterion-level judgments. Covering both open-ended generation and verifiable reasoning tasks, Multi-Crit is built through a rigorous data curation pipeline that gathers challenging response pairs with multi-criterion human annotations. It further introduces three novel metrics for systematically assessing pluralistic adherence, criterion-switching flexibility, and the ability to recognize criterion-level preference conflicts. Comprehensive analysis of 25 LMMs reveals that 1) proprietary models still struggle to maintain consistent adherence to pluralistic criteria--especially in open-ended evaluation; 2) open-source models lag further behind in flexibly following diverse criteria; and 3) critic fine-tuning with holistic judgment signals enhances visual grounding but fails to generalize to pluralistic criterion-level judgment. Additional analyses on reasoning fine-tuning, test-time scaling, and boundary consistency between open-source and proprietary models further probe the limits of current multimodal judges. As a pioneering study, Multi-Crit lays the foundation for building reliable and steerable multimodal AI evaluation.

Robust Audio-Visual Target Speaker Extraction with Emotion-Aware Multiple Enrollment Fusion

Audio-Visual Target Speaker Extraction (AVTSE) is crucial for cocktail party scenarios. Leveraging multiple cues --such as utterance-level speaker embeddings or steady face images, and frame-level lip motion or facial expression features --can significantly improve performance. However, real-world applications often suffer from intermittent signal loss, especially for frame-level cues. This paper systematically investigates the robustness of multi-enrollment fusion under varying degrees of modality missing. Results show that while full multimodal fusion excels under ideal conditions, its performance degrades sharply when encountering unseen modalities missing during the testing. Crucially, training with a high missing rate dramatically enhances robustness, maintaining stable performance even under severe test-time modality missing. We demonstrate that fusing the complementary one frame of face image with frame-level lip features achieves both strong performance and robustness for the AVTSE task. The model and codes are shared.

Initial-Condition-Robust Inference in Autoregressive Models

This paper considers confidence intervals (CIs) for the autoregressive (AR) parameter in an AR model with an AR parameter that may be close or equal to one. Existing CIs rely on the assumption of a stationary or fixed initial condition to obtain correct asymptotic coverage and good finite sample coverage. When this assumption fails, their coverage can be quite poor. In this paper, we introduce a new CI for the AR parameter whose coverage probability is completely robust to the initial condition, both asymptotically and in finite samples. This CI pays only a small price in terms of its length when the initial condition is stationary or fixed. The new CI also is robust to conditional heteroskedasticity of the errors.

Multi-View Based Audio Visual Target Speaker Extraction

Audio-Visual Target Speaker Extraction (AVTSE) aims to separate a target speaker's voice from a mixed audio signal using the corresponding visual cues. While most existing AVTSE methods rely exclusively on frontal-view videos, this limitation restricts their robustness in real-world scenarios where non-frontal views are prevalent. Such visual perspectives often contain complementary articulatory information that could enhance speech extraction. In this work, we propose Multi-View Tensor Fusion (MVTF), a novel framework that transforms multi-view learning into single-view performance gains. During the training stage, we leverage synchronized multi-perspective lip videos to learn cross-view correlations through MVTF, where pairwise outer products explicitly model multiplicative interactions between different views of input lip embeddings. At the inference stage, the system supports both single-view and multi-view inputs. Experimental results show that in the single-view inputs, our framework leverages multi-view knowledge to achieve significant performance gains, while in the multi-view mode, it further improves overall performance and enhances the robustness. Taming Epilepsy: Mean Field Control of Whole-Brain Dynamics

Controlling the high-dimensional neural dynamics during epileptic seizures remains a significant challenge due to the nonlinear characteristics and complex connectivity of the brain. In this paper, we propose a novel framework, namely Graph-Regularized Koopman Mean-Field Game (GK-MFG), which integrates Reservoir Computing (RC) for Koopman operator approximation with Alternating Population and Agent Control Network (APAC-Net) for solving distributional control problems. By embedding Electroencephalogram (EEG) dynamics into a linear latent space and imposing graph Laplacian constraints derived from the Phase Locking Value (PLV), our method achieves robust seizure suppression while respecting the functional topological structure of the brain.

Geometric Approach to Light Rings in Axially Symmetric Spacetimes

Circular photon orbits have become an attractive topic in recent years. They play extremely important roles in black hole shadows, gravitational lensings, quasi-normal modes, and spacetime topological properties. In our recent work, \href{https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.106.L021501}{Phys. Rev. D \textbf{106}, L021501 (2022)}, a geometric approach to circular photon orbits was proposed for spherically symmetric spacetimes. In the present study, we extend this geometric approach from spherically symmetric spacetimes to axially symmetric spacetimes. In this geometric approach, light rings in the equatorial plane are determined by the intrinsic curvatures in the optical geometry of Lorentz spacetime, which gives rise to a Randers-Finsler geometry in axially symmetric cases. Specifically, light rings can be precisely determined by the vanishing of geodesic curvature, and the stability of light rings is classified using the intrinsic flag curvature in Randers-Finsler optical geometry. This geometric approach presented in this work is generally applicable to any stationary and axially symmetric spacetime, without imposing any restriction on the spacetime metric forms. Furthermore, we provide a rigorous demonstration to show that our geometric approach yields results that are completely equivalent to those derived from the conventional approach (based on the effective potential of photons).

Enhancing Speaker Verification with w2v-BERT 2.0 and Knowledge Distillation guided Structured Pruning

Large-scale self-supervised Pre-Trained Models (PTMs) have shown significant improvements in the speaker verification (SV) task by providing rich feature representations. In this paper, we utilize w2v-BERT 2.0, a model with approximately 600 million parameters trained on 4.5 million hours of unlabeled data across 143 languages, for the SV task. The MFA structure with Layer Adapter is employed to process the multi-layer feature outputs from the PTM and extract speaker embeddings. Additionally, we incorporate LoRA for efficient fine-tuning. Our model achieves state-of-the-art results with 0.12% and 0.55% EER on the Vox1-O and Vox1-H test sets, respectively. Furthermore, we apply knowledge distillation guided structured pruning, reducing the model size by 80% while achieving only a 0.04% EER degradation. Language-Invariant Multilingual Speaker Verification for the TidyVoice 2026 Challenge

Multilingual speaker verification (SV) remains challenging due to limited cross-lingual data and language-dependent information in speaker embeddings. This paper presents a language-invariant multilingual SV system for the TidyVoice 2026 Challenge. We adopt the multilingual self-supervised w2v-BERT 2.0 model as the backbone, enhanced with Layer Adapters and Multi-scale Feature Aggregation to better exploit multi-layer representations. A language-adversarial training strategy with a Gradient Reversal Layer is applied to promote language-invariant speaker embeddings. Moreover, a multilingual zero-shot text-to-speech system is used to synthesize speech in multiple languages, improving language diversity. Experimental results demonstrate that fine-tuning the large-scale pretrained model yields competitive performance, while language-adversarial training further enhances robustness. In addition, synthetic speech augmentation provides additional gains under limited training data conditions. Source code is available at https://github.com/ZXHY-82/LI-MSV-TidyVoice2026.

Tunable Input-to-State Safety with Input Constraints

Tunable input-to-state safety (TISSf) generalizes the input-to-state safety (ISSf) framework by incorporating a tuning function that regulates safety conservatism while preserving robustness against perturbations. Despite its flexibility, the TISSf tuning function is often designed without explicitly incorporating actuator limits, which can lead to incompatibility with input constraints. To address this gap, this paper proposes a framework that integrates general compact input constraints into tuning function synthesis. Leveraging a geometric perspective, we characterize the TISSf condition as a state-dependent half-space constraint and derive a verifiable certificate for input compatibility using support functions. This characterization transforms the compatibility requirement into a design constraint on the tuning function, yielding a prescriptive lower bound that defines an admissible family of tunings under input constraints. These results are specialized to norm-bounded, polyhedral, and box constraints, yielding tractable control design conditions. We show that these conditions, combined with tuning function monotonicity, guarantee input compatibility and recursive feasibility of the resulting quadratic program (QP)-based safety filter. Furthermore, an offline parameter selection procedure using a covering-based sampling strategy ensures compatibility across the entire safe set via a linear program (LP). A connected cruise control (CCC) application demonstrates robust safety under TISSf while enforcing input constraints by design.

ECHO: Frequency-aware Hierarchical Encoding for Variable-length Signals

Pre-trained foundation models have demonstrated remarkable success in audio, vision and language, yet their potential for general machine signal modeling with arbitrary sampling rates-covering acoustic, vibration, and other industrial sensor data-remains under-explored. In this work, we propose a novel foundation model ECHO that integrates an advanced band-split architecture with frequency positional embeddings, enabling spectral localization across arbitrary sampling configurations. Moreover, the model incorporates sliding patches to support inputs of variable length without padding or cropping, producing a concise embedding that retains both temporal and spectral fidelity and naturally extends to streaming scenarios. We evaluate our method on various kinds of machine signal datasets, including previous DCASE task 2 challenges (2020-2025), and widely-used industrial signal corpora. Experimental results demonstrate consistent state-of-the-art performance in machine signal anomaly detection and fault classification, confirming the effectiveness and generalization capability of the proposed model. We open-sourced ECHO on https://github.com/yucongzh/ECHO.

Spatially-Augmented Sequence-to-Sequence Neural Diarization for Meetings

This paper proposes a Spatially-Augmented Sequence-to-Sequence Neural Diarization (SA-S2SND) framework, which integrates direction-of-arrival (DOA) cues estimated by SRP-DNN into the S2SND backbone. A two-stage training strategy is adopted: the model is first trained with single-channel audio and DOA features, and then further optimized with multi-channel inputs under DOA guidance. In addition, a simulated DOA generation scheme is introduced to alleviate dependence on matched multi-channel corpora. On the AliMeeting dataset, SA-S2SND consistently outperform the S2SND baseline, achieving a 7.4% relative DER reduction in the offline mode and over 19% improvement when combined with channel attention. These results demonstrate that spatial cues are highly complementary to cross-channel modeling, yielding good performance in both online and offline settings.

Yo'City: Personalized and Boundless 3D Realistic City Scene Generation via Self-Critic Expansion

Realistic 3D city generation is fundamental to a wide range of applications, including virtual reality and digital twins. However, most existing methods rely on training a single diffusion model, which limits their ability to generate personalized and boundless city-scale scenes. In this paper, we present Yo'City, a novel agentic framework that enables user-customized and infinitely expandable 3D city generation by leveraging the reasoning and compositional capabilities of off-the-shelf large models. Specifically, Yo'City first conceptualizes the city through a top-down planning strategy that defines a hierarchical "City-District-Grid" structure. The Global Planner determines the overall layout and potential functional districts, while the Local Designer further refines each district with detailed grid-level descriptions. Subsequently, the grid-level 3D generation is achieved through a "produce-refine-evaluate" isometric image synthesis loop, followed by image-to-3D generation. To simulate continuous city evolution, Yo'City further introduces a user-interactive, relationship-guided expansion mechanism, which performs scene graph-based distance- and semantics-aware layout optimization, ensuring spatially coherent city growth. To comprehensively evaluate our method, we construct a diverse benchmark dataset and design six multi-dimensional metrics that assess generation quality from the perspectives of semantics, geometry, texture, and layout. Extensive experiments demonstrate that Yo'City consistently outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods across all evaluation aspects.

Toward Multimodal Industrial Fault Analysis: A Single-Speed Chain Conveyor Dataset with Audio and Vibration Signals

We introduce a multimodal industrial fault analysis dataset collected from a single-speed chain conveyor (SSCC) system, targeting system-level fault detection in production lines. The dataset consists of multimodal signals, including three audio and four vibration channels. It covers normal operation and four representative fault types under multiple speeds, loads, and both clean and realistic factory-noise conditions reproduced on-site. It is explicitly designed to support channel-wise analysis and multimodal fusion research. We establish standardized evaluation protocols for unsupervised fault detection with normal-only training and supervised fault classification with balanced dataset splits across different operating conditions and fault types. A unified channel-wise kNN baseline is provided to enable fair comparison of representation quality without task-specific training. The dataset offers a practical and extensible benchmark for robust multimodal industrial fault analysis.

Multimodal Laryngoscopic Video Analysis for Assisted Diagnosis of Vocal Fold Paralysis

This paper presents the Multimodal Laryngoscopic Video Analyzing System (MLVAS), a novel system that leverages both audio and video data to automatically extract key video segments and metrics from raw laryngeal videostroboscopic videos for assisted clinical assessment. The system integrates video-based glottis detection with an audio keyword spotting method to analyze both video and audio data, identifying patient vocalizations and refining video highlights to ensure optimal inspection of vocal fold movements. Beyond key video segment extraction from the raw laryngeal videos, MLVAS is able to generate effective audio and visual features for Vocal Fold Paralysis (VFP) detection. Pre-trained audio encoders are utilized to encode the patient voice to get the audio features. Visual features are generated by measuring the angle deviation of both the left and right vocal folds to the estimated glottal midline on the segmented glottis masks. To get better masks, we introduce a diffusion-based refinement that follows traditional U-Net segmentation to reduce false positives. We conducted several ablation studies to demonstrate the effectiveness of each module and modalities in the proposed MLVAS. The experimental results on a public segmentation dataset show the effectiveness of our proposed segmentation module. In addition, unilateral VFP classification results on a real-world clinic dataset demonstrate MLVAS's ability of providing reliable and objective metrics as well as visualization for assisted clinical diagnosis.

Plasma Screening Effects in Stark Broadening: A Fully Relativistic Close-Coupling Approach

Stark broadening of spectral lines in plasmas is a cornerstone of opacity modeling and plasma diagnostics, with critical implications for controlled fusion and astrophysics. Despite recent advances in fully quantum-mechanical close-coupling calculations for electron-impact broadening, the impact of denser plasma environments remains largely unexplored due to theoretical bottlenecks associated with electron-ion collision processes. Based on our newly developed close-coupling theory for electron-ion collisions in plasmas, which resolves the problem of extracting short-range scattering phase shifts, we introduce a fully relativistic close-coupling approach for the Stark broadening that incorporates plasma screening effects. Systematic investigations of hydrogenic radiators reveal distinct patterns of line broadening dependence on plasma conditions, offering valuable insights for plasma diagnostic applications. Furthermore, we provide a quantum-mechanical interpretation of the screening factor commonly introduced in semi-classical impact theories. This work establishes a robust foundation for future studies on complex atomic systems in high-density plasmas.

Bala-Join: An Adaptive Hash Join for Balancing Communication and Computation in Geo-Distributed SQL Databases

Shared-nothing geo-distributed SQL databases, such as CockroachDB, are increasingly vital for enterprise applications requiring data resilience and locality. However, we encountered significant performance degradation at the customer side, especially when their deployments span multiple data centers over a Wide Area Network (WAN). Our investigation identifies the bottleneck in the performance of the Distributed Hash Join (Dist-HJ) algorithm, which is contingent upon a crucial balance between communication overhead and computational load. This balance is severely disrupted when processing skewed data from real-world customer workloads, leading to the observed performance decline. To tackle this challenge, we introduce Bala-Join, an adaptive solution to balance the computation and network load in Dist-HJ execution. Our approach consists of the Balanced Partition and Partial Replication (BPPR) algorithm and a distributed online skewed join key detector. The former achieves balanced redistribution of skewed data through a multicast mechanism to improve computational performance and reduce network overhead. The latter provides real-time skewed join key information tailored to BPPR. Furthermore, an Active-Signaling and Asynchronous-Pulling (ASAP) mechanism is incorporated to enable efficient, real-time synchronization between the detector and the redistribution process with minimal overhead. Empirical study shows that Bala-Join outperforms the popular Dist-HJ solutions, increasing throughput by 25%-61%.

Robust LLM-based Audio-Visual Speech Recognition with Sparse Modality Alignment and Visual Unit-Guided Refinement

Audio-Visual Speech Recognition (AVSR) integrates acoustic and visual information to enhance robustness in adverse acoustic conditions. Recent advances in Large Language Models (LLMs) have yielded competitive automatic speech recognition performance and shown effectiveness for AVSR. However, prior approaches project audio and visual features independently or apply shallow fusion, limiting cross-modal alignment and complementary exchange while increasing the LLM's computational load. To address this, we propose AVUR-LLM, an LLM-based Audio-Visual Speech Recognition via Sparse Modality Alignment and Visual Unit-Guided Refinement. Experiments on LRS3 demonstrate state-of-the-art results for AVSR. Under additive-noise conditions at 0 dB SNR, it achieves 37% relative improvement over the baseline system.

D-GVIO: A Buffer-Driven and Efficient Decentralized GNSS-Visual-Inertial State Estimator for Multi-Agent Systems

Cooperative localization is essential for swarm applications like collaborative exploration and search-and-rescue missions. However, maintaining real-time capability, robustness, and computational efficiency on resource-constrained platforms presents significant challenges. To address these challenges, we propose D-GVIO, a buffer-driven and fully decentralized GNSS-Visual-Inertial Odometry (GVIO) framework that leverages a novel buffering strategy to support efficient and robust distributed state estimation. The proposed framework is characterized by four core mechanisms. Firstly, through covariance segmentation, covariance intersection and buffering strategy, we modularize propagation and update steps in distributed state estimation, significantly reducing computational and communication burdens. Secondly, the left-invariant extended Kalman filter (L-IEKF) is adopted for information fusion, which exhibits superior state estimation performance over the traditional extended Kalman filter (EKF) since its state transition matrix is independent of the system state. Thirdly, a buffer-based re-propagation strategy is employed to handle delayed measurements efficiently and accurately by leveraging the L-IEKF, eliminating the need for costly re-computation. Finally, an adaptive buffer-driven outlier detection method is proposed to dynamically cull GNSS outliers, enhancing robustness in GNSS-challenged environments.
