Model independent determination of the spins of the $P_{c}$(4440) and $P_{c}$(4457) from the spectroscopy of the triply charmed dibaryons

The LHCb collaboration has recently observed three narrow pentaquark states --- the $P_c(4312)$, $P_c(4440)$, and $P_c(4457)$ ---that are located close to the $\bar{D} Σ_c$ and $\bar{D}^* Σ_c$ thresholds. Among the so-far proposed theoretical interpretations for these pentaquarks, the molecular hypothesis seems to be the preferred one. Nevertheless, in the molecular picture the spins of the $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$ have not been unambiguously determined yet. In this letter we point out that heavy antiquark-diquark symmetry induces a model-independent relation between the spin-splitting in the masses of the $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$ $\bar{D}^* Σ_c$ pentaquarks and the corresponding splitting for the $0^+$ and $1^+$ $Ξ_{cc} Σ_c$ triply charmed dibaryons. This is particularly relevant owing to a recent lattice QCD prediction of the $1^+$ triply charmed dibaryon, which suggests that a calculation of the mass of its $0^+$ partner might be within reach. This in turn would reveal the spins of the $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$ pentaquarks, providing a highly nontrivial test of heavy-quark symmetry and the molecular nature of the pentaquarks. Furthermore, the molecular interpretation of the hidden-charm pentaquarks implies the existence of a total of ten triply charmed dibaryons as $Ξ_{cc}^{(*)} Σ_c^{(*)}$ molecules, which, if confirmed in the lattice, will largely expand our understanding of the non-perturbative strong interaction in the heavy-quark sector.

$DK$, $DDK$, and $DDDK$ molecules--understanding the nature of the $D_{s0}^*(2317)$

The $DK$ interaction is strong enough to form a bound state, the $D_{s0}^*(2317)$. This in turn begs the question of whether there are bound states composed of several charmed mesons and a kaon. Previous calculations indicate that the three-body $DDK$ system is probably bound, where the quantum numbers are $J^P = 0^{-}$, $I=\tfrac{1}{2}$, $S = 1$ and $C = 2$. The minimum quark content of this state is $cc\bar{q}\bar{s}$ with $q=u,d$, which means that, if discovered, it will be an explicitly exotic tetraquark. In the present work. we apply the Gaussian Expansion Method to study the $DDDK$ system and show that it binds as well. The existence of these three and four body states is rather robust with respect to the $DD$ interaction and subleading (chiral) corrections to the $DK$ interaction. If these states exist, it is quite likely that their heavy quark symmetry counterparts exist as well. These three-body $DDK$ and four-body $DDDK$ molecular states could be viewed as counterparts of atomic nuclei, which are clusters of nucleons bound by the residual strong force, or chemical molecules, which are clusters of atoms bound by the residual electromagnetic interaction.

Emergence of a complete heavy-quark spin symmetry multiplet: seven molecular pentaquarks in light of the latest LHCb analysis

A recent analysis by the LHCb collaboration suggests the existence of three narrow pentaquark-like states --- the $P_c(4312)$,$P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$ --- instead of just one in the previous analysis (the $P_c(4450)$). The closeness of the $P_c(4312)$ to the $\bar{D} Σ_c$ threshold and the $P_c(4440)$/$P_c(4457)$ to the $\bar{D}^* Σ_c$ one suggests a molecular interpretation of these resonances. We show that these three pentaquark-like resonances can be naturally accommodated in a contact-range effective field theory description that incorporates heavy-quark spin symmetry. This description leads to the prediction of all the seven possible S-wave heavy antimeson-baryon molecules (that is, there should be four additional molecular pentaquarks in addition to the $P_c(4312)$, $P_c(4440)$ and $P_c(4457)$), providing the first example of a heavy-quark spin symmetry molecular multiplet that is complete. If this is confirmed, it will not only give us an impressive example of the application of heavy-quark symmetries and effective field theories in hadron physics: it will also uncover a clear and powerful ordering principle for the molecular spectrum, reminiscent of the SU(3)-flavor multiplets to which the light hadron spectrum conforms.

Heavy-quark spin and flavour symmetry partners of the X(3872) revisited: what can we learn from the one boson exchange model?

Heavy-quark symmetry as applied to heavy hadron systems implies that their interactions are independent of their heavy-quark spin (heavy-quark spin symmetry) and heavy flavour contents (heavy flavour symmetry). In the molecular hypothesis the $X(3872)$ resonance is a $1^{++}$ $D^*\bar{D}$ bound state. If this is the case, the application of heavy-quark symmetry to a molecular $X(3872)$ suggests the existence of a series of partner states, the most obvious of which is a possible $2^{++}$ $D^*\bar{D}^*$ bound state for which the two-body potential is identical to that of the $1^{++}$ $D^*\bar{D}$ system, the reason being that these two heavy hadron-antihadron states have identical light-spin content. As already discussed in the literature this leads to the prediction of a partner state at $4012\,{\rm MeV}$, at least in the absence of other dynamical effects which might affect the location of this molecule. However the prediction of further heavy-quark symmetry partners cannot be done solely on the basis of symmetry and requires additional information. We propose to use the one boson exchange model to fill this gap, in which case we will be able to predict or discard the existence of other partner states. Besides the isoscalar $2^{++}$ $D^*\bar{D}^*$ bound state, we correctly reproduce the location and quantum numbers of the isovector hidden-bottom $Z_b(10610)$ and $Z_b(10650)$ molecular candidates. We also predict the hidden-bottom $1^{++}$ $B^*\bar{B}^*$ and $2^{++}$ $B^*\bar{B}^*$ partners of the $X(3872)$, in agreement with previous theoretical speculations, plus a series of other states. The isoscalar, doubly charmed $1^+$ $D D^*$ and $D^* D^*$ molecules and their doubly bottomed counterparts are likely to bind, providing a few instances of explicitly exotic systems.

Heavy-Quark Symmetry Partners of the Pc(4450) Pentaquark

The spectrum of heavy-hadron molecules is constrained by heavy-quark symmetry in its different manifestations. Heavy-quark spin symmetry for instance connects the properties of the ground and excited states of heavy hadrons, while heavy-antiquark-diquark symmetry connects the properties of heavy antimesons ($\bar{D}$, $\bar{D}^*$) and doubly heavy baryons ($Ξ_{cc}$, $Ξ_{cc}^*$). A prediction of these symmetries is that if the $P_c(4450)$ is indeed a $\bar{D}^* Σ_c$ bound state, then there should be a series of $\bar{D}^* Σ_c^*$, $Ξ_{cc} Σ_c$, $Ξ_{cc}^* Σ_c$, $Ξ_{cc} Σ_c^*$ and $Ξ_{cc}^* Σ_c^*$ partners. The concrete application of heavy-quark spin symmetry indicates that, if the $P_c(4450)$ is a $\frac{3}{2}^{-}$ $\bar{D}^* Σ_c$ molecule, the existence of a $\frac{5}{2}^{-}$ $\bar{D}^* Σ_c^*$ partner with similar binding energy --- which we call $P_c(4515)$, given its expected mass --- is likely. Conversely, the application of heavy-antiquark-diquark symmetry indicates that the $0^+$ $Ξ_{cc} Σ_c$, $1^+$ $Ξ_{cc} Σ_c^*$, $2^+$ $Ξ_{cc}^* Σ_c$ and $3^+$ $Ξ_{cc}^* Σ_c^*$ molecules are likely to bind too, with binding energies in the $20-30\,{\rm MeV}$ range.

Magnetic moments of the spin-1/2 doubly charmed baryons in covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory

Inspired by the recent discovery of the $Ξ_{cc}^{++}$ by the LHCb Collaboration, we study the magnetic moments of the spin-1/2 doubly charmed baryons up to the next-to-leading order in covariant baryon chiral perturbation theory with the extended-on-mass-shell renormalization scheme. There are three low energy constants at this order, $a_1$, $a_2$ and $g_a$. The latest lattice QCD simulations allow us to fix a combination of $a_1$ and $a_2$, while the axial-vector coupling $g_a$ can be determined in three different ways, either by fitting to the lattice QCD data, or by the quark model, or by the heavy antiquark diquark symmetry. The magnetic moments of the spin-1/2 doubly charmed baryons $Ξ^d_{cc}$ and $Ξ^s_{cc}$ can then be predicted. We compare our results with those obtained in the heavy baryon chiral perturbation theory and other approaches, and point out some inconsistencies between the lattice QCD simulations and the quark model.

$D Ξ$ and $D^* Ξ$ Molecular States from One Boson Exchange

We explore the existence of $D Ξ$ and $D^* Ξ$ molecular states within the one boson exchange model. We regularize the potential derived in this model with a form factor and a cut-off of the order of $1\,{\rm GeV}$. To determine the cut-off, we use the condition that the $X(3872)$ is reproduced as a pole in the $J^{PC} = 1^{++}$ $D^*\bar{D}$ amplitude. From this we find that the $J^P= {\frac{1}{2}}^{-}$ $D^*\,Ξ$ system is on the verge of binding and has an unnaturally large scattering length. For the $J^P= {\frac{1}{2}}^{-}$ $D\,Ξ$ and the $J^P= {\frac{3}{2}}^{-}$ $D^*\,Ξ$ systems the attraction is not enough to form a bound state. From heavy quark symmetry and the quark model we can extend the previous model to the $P Ξ_{QQ}$ and $P^* Ξ_{QQ}$ systems, with $P = D, \bar{B}$, $P^* = D^*, \bar{B}^*$ and $Ξ_{QQ} = Ξ_{cc}, Ξ_{bb}$. In this case we predict a series of triply heavy pentaquark-like molecules.

Strong decay modes $\bar{K}Ξ$ and $\bar{K}Ξπ$ of the $Ω(2012)$ in the $\bar{K}Ξ(1530)$ and $ηΩ$ molecular scenario

We study the $\bar{K} Ξ$ decay mode of the newly observed $Ω(2012)$ assuming that the $Ω(2012)$ is a dynamically generated state with spin-parity $J^P = 3/2^-$ from the coupled channel $S$-wave interactions of $\bar{K}Ξ(1530)$ and $ηΩ$. In addition we also calculate its $KπΞ$ three-body decay mode. It is shown that the so-obtained total decay width is in fair agreement with the experimental data. We compare our results with those of other recent studies and highlight differences among them.

Possible hadronic molecular states composed of $S$-wave heavy-light mesons

We perform a systematical study of possible molecular states composed of the $S$ wave heavy light mesons, where the $S-D$ mixing and {$η-η^{\prime}$ mixing} are explicitly included. Our calculation indicates that the observed $X(3872)$ could be a loosely shallow molecular state composed of $D\bar{D}^\ast +h.c$, while neither $Z_c(3900)/Z_c(4020)$ nor $Z_b(10610)/Z_b(10650)$ is supported to be a molecule. Some observed possible molecular states are predicted, which could be searched for by further experimental measurements.
