On the Stanley depth of edge ideals of line and cyclic graphs

We prove that the edge ideals of line and cyclic graphs and their quotient rings satisfy the Stanley conjecture. We compute the Stanley depth for the quotient ring of the edge ideal associated to a cycle graph of length $n$, given a precise formula for $n\equiv 0,2 \pmod{3}$ and tight bounds for $n\equiv 1 \pmod{3}$. Also, we give bounds for the Stanley depth of a quotient of two monomial ideals, in combinatorial terms.

Regularity of quasi-symbolic and bracket powers of Borel type ideals

In this paper, we show that the regularity of the q-th quasi-symbolic power $I^{((q))}$ and the regularity of the $q$-th bracket power $I^{[q]}$ of a monomial ideal of Borel type $I$, satisfy the relations $reg(I^{((q))})\leq q \cdot reg(I)$, respectively $reg(I^{[q]})\geq q\cdot reg(I)$. Also, we give an upper bound for $reg(I^{[q]})$.

Stanley depth of quotient of monomial complete intersection ideals

We compute the Stanley depth for a particular, but important case, of the quotient of complete intersection monomial ideals. Also, in the general case, we give sharp bounds for the Stanley depth of a quotient of complete intersection monomial ideals. In particular, we prove the Stanley conjecture for quotients of complete intersection monomial ideals.

Vertex cover algebras of simplicial multicomplexes

We define vertex cover algebras for weighted simplicial multicomplexes and prove basics properties of them. Also, we describe these algebras for multicomplexes which have only one maximal facet and we prove that they are finitely generated.

A note on Stanley conjecture for monomial ideals

In this paper, we prove that if $I\subset S:=K[x_1,...,x_n]$ is a monomial ideal then $I$ and $S/I$ satisfy the Stanley conjecture when $I$ has a small number of generators, with respect to $\depth(S/I)$ and $\max\{|P|:\;P\in\Ass(S/I)\}$. In particular, if $I$ be a monomial almost complete intersection ideal in $S$, then Stanley's Conjecture holds for $S/I$ and $I$.

Several inequalities regarding sdepth

We give several bounds for $sdepth_S(I+J)$, $sdepth_S(I\cap J)$, $sdepth_S(S/(I+J))$, $sdepth_S(S/(I\cap J))$, $sdepth_S(I:J)$ and $sdepth_S(S/(I:J))$ where $I,J\subset S=K[x_1,...,x_n]$ are monomial ideals. Also, we give several equivalent forms of Stanley Conjecture for $I$ and $S/I$, where $I\subset S$ is a monomial ideal.

Multigraded modules of Borel type

In this paper, we introduce the multigraded modules of Borel type and extend several results from the theory of ideals of Borel type. We prove that modules of Borel type are sequentially Cohen Macaulay and pretty clean. Also, we give a formula for the regularity of modules of Borel type.

Stanley depth of square free Veronese ideals

We compute the Stanley depth for the quotient ring of a square free Veronese ideal and we give some bounds for the Stanley depth of a square free Veronese ideal. In particular, it follows that both satisfy the Stanley's conjecture.

Stanley depth of monomial ideals with small number of generators

For a monomial ideal $I\subset S=K[x_1,...,x_n]$, we show that $\sdepth(S/I)\geq n-g(I)$, where $g(I)$ is the number of the minimal monomial generators of $I$. If $I=vI'$, where $v\in S$ is a monomial, then we see that $\sdepth(S/I)=\sdepth(S/I')$. We prove that if $I$ is a monomial ideal $I\subset S$ minimally generated by three monomials, then $I$ and $S/I$ satisfy the Stanley conjecture. Given a saturated monomial ideal $I\subset K[x_1,x_2,x_3]$ we show that $\sdepth(I)=2$. As a consequence, $\sdepth(I)\geq \sdepth(K[x_1,x_2,x_3]/I)+1$ for any monomial ideal in $I\subset K[x_1,x_2,x_3]$.

Stanley depth of monomial ideals in three variables

We show that $\depth(S/I)=0$ if and only if $\sdepth(S/I)=0$, where $I\subset S=K[x_1,...,x_n]$ is a monomial ideal. We give an algorithm to compute the Stanley depth of $S/I$, where $I\subset S=K[x_1,x_2,x_3]$ is a monomial ideal. Also, we prove that a monomial ideal $I\subset K[x_1,x_2,x_3]$ minimally generated by three monomials has $\sdepth(I)=2$.

Stanley depth of complete intersection monomial ideals

We compute the Stanley depth of irreducible monomial ideals and we show that the Stanley depth of a monomial complete intersection ideal is the same as the Stanley depth of it's radical. Also, we give some bounds for the Stanley depth of a monomial complete intersection ideal.

Some remarks on Borel type ideals

We give new equivalent characterizations for ideals of Borel type. Also, we prove that the regularity of a product of ideals of Borel type is bounded by the sum of the regularities of those ideals.

Contribution in combinatorics in commutative algebra.(ph-d thesis)

In the first chapter we present new results related on monomial ideals of Borel type. Also, we introduce a new class of monomial ideals, called $\de$-fixed ideals, which generalize the class of $p$-Borel ideals and we extend several results to this new class. In the second chapter, we compute the generic initial ideal, with repect to the reverse lexicographic order, of an ideal which define a complete intersection of embedding dimension three with strong Lefschetz property and we show that it is an almost reverse lexicographic ideal. This enable us to give a proof for Moreno's conjecture in the case $n=3$ and characteristic zero. Also, we prove that the $d$-component of the generic initial ideal, with respect to the reverse lexicographic order, of an ideal generated by a regular sequence of homogeneous polynomials of degree $d$ is revlex, in a particular, but important, case.
