Skein theoretic approach to Yang-Baxter homology

We introduce skein theoretic techniques to compute the Yang-Baxter (YB) homology and cohomology groups of the R-matrix corresponding to the Jones polynomial. More specifically, we show that the YB operator $R$ for Jones, normalized for homology, admits a skein decomposition $R = I + βα$, where $α: V^{\otimes 2} \rightarrow k$ is a "cup" pairing map and $β: k \rightarrow V^{\otimes 2}$ is a "cap" copairing map, and differentials in the chain complex associated to $R$ can be decomposed into horizontal tensor concatenations of cups and caps. We apply our skein theoretic approach to determine the second and third YB homology groups, confirming a conjecture of Przytycki and Wang. Further, we compute the cohomology groups of $R$, and provide computations in higher dimensions that yield some annihilations of submodules.

Heap and Ternary Self-Distributive Cohomology

Heaps are para-associative ternary operations bijectively exemplified by groups via the operation $(x,y,z) \mapsto x y^{-1} z$. They are also ternary self-distributive, and have a diagrammatic interpretation in terms of framed links. Motivated by these properties, we define para-associative and heap cohomology theories and also a ternary self-distributive cohomology theory with abelian heap coefficients. We show that one of the heap cohomologies is related to group cohomology via a long exact sequence. Moreover we construct maps between second cohomology groups of normalized group cohomology and heap cohomology, and show that the latter injects into the ternary self-distributive second cohomology group. We proceed to study heap objects in symmetric monoidal categories providing a characterization of pointed heaps as involutory Hopf monoids in the given category. Finally we prove that heap objects are also "categorically" self-distributive in an appropriate sense.

$Q$-Series and Quantum Spin Networks

The tail of a quantum spin network in the two-sphere is a $q$-series associated to the network. We study the existence of the head and tail functions of quantum spin networks colored by $2n$. We compute the $q$-series for an infinite family of quantum spin networks and give the relation between the tail of these networks and the tail of the colored Jones polynomial. Finally, we show that the family of quantum spin networks under study satisfies a natural product structure, making these networks satisfy a natural product structure.

Higher Arity Self-Distributive Operations in Cascades and their Cohomology

We investigate constructions of higher arity self-distributive operations, and give relations between cohomology groups corresponding to operations of different arities. For this purpose we introduce the notion of mutually distributive $n$-ary operations generalizing those for the binary case, and define a cohomology theory labeled by these operations. A geometric interpretation in terms of framed links is described, with the scope of providing algebraic background of constructing $2$-cocycles for framed link invariants. This theory is also studied in the context of symmetric monoidal categories. Examples from Lie algebras, coalgebras and Hopf algebras are given.

Generalized Derivations of n-BiHom-Lie algebras

We investigate generalized derivations of $n$-BiHom-Lie algebras. We introduce and study properties of derivations, $( α^{s},β^{r}) $-derivations and generalized derivations. We also study quasiderivations of $n$-BiHom-Lie algebras. Generalized derivations of $(n+1)$-BiHom-Lie algebras induced by $ n $-BiHom-Lie algebras are also considered.

Ring Theoretic Aspects of Quandles

We associate to every quandle $X$ and an associative ring with unity $\mathbf{k}$, a nonassociative ring $\mathbf{k}[X]$ following [3]. The basic properties of such rings are investigated. In particular, under the assumption that the inner automorphism group $Inn(X)$ acts orbit $2$-transitively on $X$, a complete description of right (or left) ideals is provided. The complete description of right ideals for the dihedral quandles $R_n$ is given. It is also shown that if for two quandles $X$ and $Y$ the inner automorphism groups act $2$-transitively and $\mathbf{k}[X]$ is isomorphic to $\mathbf{k}[Y]$, then the quandles are of the same partition type. However, we provide examples when the quandle rings $\mathbf{k}[X]$ and $\mathbf{k}[Y]$ are isomorphic, but the quandles $X$ and $Y$ are not isomorphic. These examples answer some open problems in [3].

Generating sets of Reidemeister moves of oriented singular links and quandles

We give a generating set of the generalized Reidemeister moves for oriented singular links. We use it to introduce an algebraic structure arising from the study of oriented singular knots. We give some examples, including some non-isomorphic families of such structures over non-abelian groups. We show that the set of colorings of a singular knot by this new structure is an invariant of oriented singular knots and use it to distinguish some singular links.

On Rational Knots and Links in the Solid Torus

We introduce the notion of rational links in the solid torus. We show that rational links in the solid torus are fully characterized by rational tangles, and hence by the continued fraction of the rational tangle. Furthermore, we generalize this by giving an infinite family of ambient isotopy invariants of colored diagrams in the Kauffman bracket skein module of an oriented surface.

Quasi-trivial Quandles and Biquandles, Cocycle Enhancements and Link-Homotopy of Pretzel links

We investigate some algebraic structures called quasi-trivial quandles and we use them to study link-homotopy of pretzel links. Precisely, a necessary and sufficient condition for a pretzel link with at least two components being trivial under link-homotopy is given. We also generalize the quasi-trivial quandle idea to the case of biquandles and consider enhancement of the quasi-trivial biquandle cocycle counting invariant by quasi-trivial biquandle cocycles, obtaining invariants of link-homotopy type of links analogous to the quasi-trivial quandle cocycle invariants in Ayumu Inoue's article arXiv:1205.5891.

Continuous cohomology of topological quandles

A continuous cohomology theory for topological quandles is introduced, and compared to the algebraic theories. Extensions of topological quandles are studied with respect to continuous 2-cocycles, and used to show the differences in second cohomology groups for specific topological quandles. A method of computing the cohomology groups of the inverse limit is applied to quandles.

On the Classification of Topological Quandles

We investigate the classification of topological quandles on some simple manifolds. Precisely we classify all Alexander quandle structures, up to isomorphism, on the real line and the unit circle. For the closed unit interval $[0, 1]$, we conjecture that there exists only one topological quandle structure on it, i.e. the trivial one. Some evidences are provided to support our conjecture.

Foundations of the Colored Jones Polynomial of singular knots

This article gives the foundations of the colored Jones polynomial for singular knots. We extend Masbum and Vogel's algorithm to compute the colored Jones polynomial for any singular knot. We also introduce the tail of the colored Jones polynomial of singular knots and use its stability properties to prove a false theta function identity that goes back to Ramanujan.

Finitely stable racks and rack representations

We define a new class of racks, called finitely stable racks, which, to some extent, share various flavors with Abelian groups. Characterization of finitely stable Alexander quandles is established. Further, we study twisted rack dynamical systems, construct their cross-products, and introduce representation theory of racks and quandles. We prove several results on the {\em strong} representations of finite connected involutive racks analogous to the properties of finite Abelian groups. Finally, we define the {\em Pontryagin} dual of a rack as an Abelian group which, in the finite involutive connected case, coincides with the set of its strong irreducible representations.

Twist Regions and Coefficients Stability of the Colored Jones Polynomial

We prove that the coefficients of the colored Jones polynomial of alternating links stabilize under increasing the number of twists in the twist regions of the link diagram. This gives us an infinite family of $q$-power series derived from the colored Jones polynomial parametrized by the color and the twist regions of the alternating link diagram.

The Colored Jones Polynomial of Singular Knots

We generalize the colored Jones polynomial to $4$-valent graphs. This generalization is given as a sequence of invariants in which the first term is a one variable specialization of the Kauffman-Vogel polynomial. We use the invariant we construct to give a sequence of singular braid group representations.

Pretzel Knots and q-Series

The tail of the colored Jones polynomial of an alternating link is a $q$-series invariant whose first $n$ terms coincide with the first $n$ terms of the $n$-th colored Jones polynomial. Recently, it has been shown that the tail of the colored Jones polynomial of torus knots give rise to Ramanujan type identities. In this paper, we study $q$-series identities coming from the colored Jones polynomial of pretzel knots. We prove a false theta function identity that goes back to Ramanujan and we give a natural generalization of this identity using the tail of the colored Jones polynomial of Pretzel knots. Furthermore, we compute the tail for an infinite family of Pretzel knots and relate it to false theta function-type identities.
