Vector-like dark matter within an alternative left-right symmetric model

We investigate an extension of the left-right symmetric model featuring an additional non-abelian $SU(2)$ gauge symmetry. The particle content is augmented by one generation of vector-like leptons transforming under the fundamental representation of this new gauge group. We demonstrate that the neutral component of the vector-like lepton multiplet naturally provides a viable and stable dark matter candidate. Stability is ensured by imposing a discrete parity symmetry that forbids mixing between the vector-like leptons and the Standard Model leptons. As a consequence, the dark sector interacts with the visible sector exclusively through the vector portal (via s-channel processes) and the vector-like lepton portal (via t-channel processes). In our analysis, we incorporate collider constraints on the mass of the first-generation extra charged gauge boson $W^{\prime\pm}$, while assuming that additional scalar states are decoupled from the relevant energy scale for simplicity. We identify the regions of parameter space consistent with the observed relic abundance, collider bounds on the charged partner $E^{\pm}$, current direct detection limits from the LZ experiment and indirect detection constraints from Fermi-LAT. We find viable dark matter with a mass at the TeV scale. We show the complementarity of direct and indirect searches in probing the remaining parameter space of the model, in particular comparing the prospects of multi-ton direct detection experiments such as XLZD and of the CTA telescope.

Alternative framework for the left-right symmetric model including vector-like fermions

We extend the left-right symmetric model with an additional non-abelian $SU(2)$ gauge symmetry. The particle content is augmented by one generation of vector-like fermions transforming under the fundamental representation of this new gauge group. Consequently, new self-dual scalar fields have been introduced for the sake of breaking the symmetry and invoking the mixing of vector-like fermions with the chiral fermions. This model explains the smallness of the neutrinos masses, showing that the 1rst and 2nd generation neutrinos masses are governed by the seesaw relation of the LRSM, while the 3rd generation neutrino mass is controlled by a new seesaw relation which involves the VLN. We investigated the production of a resonant extra charged gauge boson which decays into vector-like quarks in association with 3rd generation or into heavy Majorana neutrinos. We exploited the {\tt run II} LHC data to set lower limits on the mass of $W^{\prime}$, and consequentially on the $Z^{\prime}$. We find that the most restrictive constraints come from the decay of the $W^{\prime}$ to the 2nd generation heavy Majorana neutrinos. We also examine the single production of the top vector-like quark with $t$ and $b$ quarks, where parton-shower is taken into account.

An extension of the SM with vector-like quarks and hypothetical heavy bosons: model independent parametrisation at NLO order

A model independent parametrization of an extension of the Standard Model including vector-like quarks, new heavy gauge bosons and an extra scalar, is introduced. Theoretical constraints on the model couplings and hypothetical particle masses are established by making use of perturbative unitarity. The consistency of the model renormalization and implementation, within the complex mass scheme for narrow widths, is verified. The production of heavy charged and neutral gauge bosons which subsequently decay to vector-like quarks at the LHC are investigated at both leading-order and next-to-leading order. The predictions of the model are obtained by using three approaches: the narrow-width-approximation, the complex mass scheme and a mix of both, where the advantages and weaknesses of each method are emphasized. This study demonstrates that, for certain configurations, off-shell effects remain significant even when the width-to-mass ratios of the unstable particles are sufficiently small, rendering the narrow-width approximation unreliable and necessitating the use of the complex mass scheme. The predictions are compared with CMS {\tt run II} data, where lower bounds on the charged heavy gauge boson mass are set as function of the free parameter normalizing their coupling to quarks.

NLO QCD corrections to single vector-like top partner production in association with top quark at the LHC

The single vector-like top partner hadroproduction in association with top quark in the five and the six-flavour schemes at the LHC is investigated. The inclusive cross section and the differential distributions are evaluated for many benchmark scenarios at leading and next-to-leading orders, both for fixed-order and fixed-order matched to parton shower. The associated Higgs production with a top quark pair, where the final state arises from the decay of the vector-like top partner into a Higgs boson and a top quark, is examined.
