Attention and Autoencoder Hybrid Model for Unsupervised Online Anomaly Detection

This paper introduces a hybrid attention and autoencoder (AE) model for unsupervised online anomaly detection in time series. The autoencoder captures local structural patterns in short embeddings, while the attention model learns long-term features, facilitating parallel computing with positional encoding. Unique in its approach, our proposed hybrid model combines attention and autoencoder for the first time in time series anomaly detection. It employs an attention-based mechanism, akin to the deep transformer model, with key architectural modifications for predicting the next time step window in the autoencoder's latent space. The model utilizes a threshold from the validation dataset for anomaly detection and introduces an alternative method based on analyzing the first statistical moment of error, improving accuracy without dependence on a validation dataset. Evaluation on diverse real-world benchmark datasets and comparing with other well-established models, confirms the effectiveness of our proposed model in anomaly detection.

Intelligent GPS Spoofing Attack Detection in Power Grids

The GPS is vulnerable to GPS spoofing attack (GSA), which leads to disorder in time and position results of the GPS receiver. In power grids, phasor measurement units (PMUs) use GPS to build time-tagged measurements, so they are susceptible to this attack. As a result of this attack, sampling time and phase angle of the PMU measurements change. In this paper, a neural network GPS spoofing detection (NNGSD) with employing PMU data from the dynamic power system is presented to detect GSAs. Numerical results in different conditions show the real-time performance of the proposed detection method.

Uncertainty decomposition of quantum networks in SLH framework

This paper presents a systematic method to decompose uncertain linear quantum input-output networks into uncertain and nominal subnetworks, when uncertainties are defined in SLH representation. To this aim, two decomposition theorems are stated, which show how an uncertain quantum network can be decomposed into nominal and uncertain subnetworks in cascaded connection and how uncertainties can be translated from SLH parameters into state-space parameters. As a potential application of the proposed decomposition scheme, robust stability analysis of uncertain quantum networks is briefly introduced. The proposed uncertainty decomposition theorems take account of uncertainties in all three parameters of a quantum network and bridge the gap between SLH modeling and state-space robust analysis theory for linear quantum networks.
