We generalize notions of passivity and dissipativity to fractional order systems. Similar to integer order systems, we show that the proposed definitions generate analogous stability and compositionality properties for fractional order systems as well. We also study the problem of passivating a fractional order system through a feedback controller. Numerical examples are presented to illustrate the concepts.
We develop an Iterative version of the Singular Value Decomposition (ISVD) that jointly analyzes a finite number of data matrices to identify signals that correlate among the rows of matrices. It will be illustrated how the supervised analysis of a big data set by another complex, multi-dimensional phenotype using the ISVD algorithm could lead to signal detection.
We consider an inventory competition game between two firms. The question we address is this: If players do not know the opponent's action and opponent's utility function can they learn to play the Nash policy in a repeated game by observing their own sales? In this work it is proven that by means of Maximum A Posteriori (MAP) estimation, players can learn the Nash policy. It is proven that players' actions and beliefs do converge to the Nash equilibrium.
