Semi-localized ground state in a 1D system with long-range hopping

We study the localization of a quantum particle in a one-dimensional disordered system with long-range hopping amplitudes $t(r)\propto r^{-a}$. In contrast to the standard one-dimensional Anderson model ($a\to\infty$), in which all states are localized and the localization length is minimal at the band edge, the long-range model with $1<a<3/2$ exhibits a disorder-driven transition at the band edge, while high-energy states remain localized at arbitrary disorder strength. We investigate this transition for the ground state in momentum space. In the weak-disorder regime, we derive perturbative expressions for the characteristic functions and moments of the momentum-space wave function, as well as for its fractal dimensions. Our results demonstrate that the ground state exhibits $\it semilocalization$ rather than conventional localization, thereby extending the class of models displaying the unusual $\it semifractality$ of wave functions.

Many-body localization of ${\mathbb Z}_3$ Fock parafermions

We study the effects of a random magnetic field on a one-dimensional (1D) spin-1 chain with {\it correlated} nearest-neighbor $XY$ interaction. We show that this spin model can be exactly mapped onto the 1D disordered tight-binding model of ${\mathbb Z}_3$ Fock parafermions (FPFs), exotic anyonic quasiparticles that generalize usual spinless fermions. Thus, we have a peculiar case of a disordered Hamiltonian that, despite being bilinear in the creation and annihilation operators, exhibits a many-body localization (MBL) transition owing to the nontrivial statistics of FPFs. This is in sharp contrast to conventional bosonic and fermionic quadratic disordered Hamiltonians that show single-particle (Anderson) localization. We perform finite-size exact diagonalization calculations of level-spacing statistics, fractal dimensions, and entanglement entropy, and provide convincing evidence for the MBL transition at finite disorder strength.

Local entanglement and String Order Parameter in dimerized models

In this letter, we propose an application of String Order Parameter (SOP), commonly used in quantum spin systems, to identify symmetry-protected topological phase (SPT) in fermionic systems in the example of the dimerized fermionic chain. As a generalized form of dimerized model, we consider a one-dimensional spin-1/2 XX model with alternating spin couplings. We employ Jordan-Wigner fermionization to map this model to the spinless Su-Schrieffer-Heeger fermionic model (SSH) with generalized hopping signs. We demonstrate a phase transition between a trivial insulating phase and the Haldane phase by the exact analytical evaluation of reconstructed SOPs which are represented as determinants of Toeplitz matrices with the given generating functions. To get more insight into the topological quantum phase transition (tQPT) and microscopic correlations, we study the pairwise concurrence as a local entanglement measure of the model. We show that the first derivative of the concurrence has a non-analytic behaviour in the vicinity of the tQPT, like in the second order trivial QPTs.
