Groupwise Selective State-Space Filtering for Accurate and Streaming Action Boundary Detection

Action boundary detection partitions untrimmed video into intervals without assigning action classes. We present a boundary-detection adapter operating on pre-extracted video features, learning temporal representations via groupwise selective scans. Learned group fusion and temporal modeling convert these into transition scores, which are decoded into boundary timestamps. Trained with boundary-time supervision, the class-agnostic model is evaluated on Breakfast, GTEA, and 50Salads using temporal tolerances and bipartite matching, achieving boundary $F_1$ scores of 0.457, 0.622, and 0.611. A stateful variant enables feature-streaming inference with zero neural look-ahead, one-sample peak confirmation, and bounded memory. Downstream systems can subsequently assign s

StarBOA: Real-Time Mamba State-Space Unrolling for Sparse Radar Micro-Doppler in ISAC Networks

In Integrated Sensing and Communications (ISAC), radar sensing must operate under chirp subsampling with up to 90\% missing data. An attention-based baseline, limited to a 52~ms buffer, collapses toward maximum uniform entropy ($H=2.584$ bits) as sparsity increases, failing to capture long-range gait-cycle context. We propose StarBOA, which replaces attention with a causal Mamba state-space model that updates incrementally on a per-window basis without re-scanning past reconstructions. By maintaining a persistent state, StarBOA integrates over $100\times$ more temporal history at no additional per-step computational cost. StarBOA outperforms the baseline's published results across all sparsity levels, with SSIM gains increasing from $+0.0379$ at 50\% missing data to $+0.2472$ at 90\%. Each window is processed in 1.53~ms with zero lookahead, demonstrating efficient causal reconstruction under extreme chirp subsampling.

SCDM: Spatial-Contextual Disentanglement Mamba via Differential Inference for Efficient Image Classification

State Space Models (SSMs), particularly VMamba, have emerged as efficient alternatives for modeling long-range dependencies in medical image analysis. However, distinguishing subtle pathological features from visually similar anatomical backgrounds remains a significant challenge. Existing SSM architectures often learn entangled representations, lacking explicit mechanisms to separate disease-specific signals from normal anatomy. To address this limitation, we propose Spatial-Contextual Differential Mamba (SCDM), an asymmetric dual-branch architecture designed for selective representational disentanglement. SCDM introduces a Positive Branch for extracting discriminative features and a Negative Branch that actively models and suppresses normal anatomical context. This separation is achieved through a similarity-driven repulsion gate and a differential inference rule, which promote competitive feature learning without requiring additional branch labels or increasing model capacity. Evaluated on the RSNA Pneumonia dataset, SCDM achieves competitive classification performance (AUC of 0.858) while requiring significantly fewer parameters (29.4M) and FLOPs (1.44G) compared to standard VMamba and vision transformer baselines. Furthermore, activation analyses demonstrate that our differential mechanism yields highly precise localization, effectively isolating lesions by inhibiting irrelevant anatomical distractors.

MamBOA: State-Space Architecture for Video Recognition

Fine-grained action recognition demands temporal reasoning that general-purpose architectures address through different cost-accuracy tradeoffs: 3D dense operators couple computation to the input volume, while difference-based methods approximate motion through rigid, hand-crafted subtraction of uncontextualized features - each reflecting a deliberate design choice with corresponding limitations in expressiveness or flexibility. We present MamBOA, a backbone-agnostic temporal framework built upon a novel interleaved scan structure that recasts the selective state-space recurrence (S6) as a native motion synthesizer. By interleaving consecutive feature representations extracted from a pretrained backbone into a single alternating sequence, the proposed scan structurally drives the recurrence to encode both temporal observations of each position within a shared hidden state, separated by only a single decay step - rendering the inter-frame transition an intrinsic component of the state dynamics rather than an externally computed quantity. A cascade of dedicated alignment and decoding operations then distills this joint encoding into an explicit motion representation, which a dual-path pooling mechanism adaptively aggregates by balancing attention-driven selection with uniform temporal coverage. The framework interfaces seamlessly with CNN, Transformer, and Mamba backbone families, adding only ~2.1 GFLOPs per feature pair. On Diving48, MamBOA achieves 85.02% Top-1 accuracy with an image-pretrained backbone and 86.24% with a video-pretrained backbone processing the entire video in a single forward pass - demonstrating that structurally induced state-space dynamics constitute a principled and general foundation for motion modeling.
