Non-Riemannian Description of Robinson-Trautman Spacetimes in Brans-Dicke Theory Of Gravity

The variational field equations of Brans-Dicke scalar-tensor theory of gravitation are given in a non-Riemannian setting in the language of exterior differential forms over 4-dimensional spacetimes. A conformally re-scaled Robinson-Trautman metric together with the Brans-Dicke scalar field are used to characterise algebraically special Robinson-Trautman spacetimes. All the relevant tensors are worked out in a complex null basis and given explicitly in an appendix for future reference. Some special families of solutions are also given and discussed.

Anisotropic Stars in the Non-minimal $Y(R)F^2$ Gravity

We investigate anisotropic compact stars in the non-minimal $Y(R)F^2$ model of gravity which couples an arbitrary function of curvature scalar $Y(R)$ to the electromagnetic field invariant $F^2$. After we obtain exact anisotropic solutions to the field equations of the model, we apply the continuity conditions to the solutions at the boundary of the star. Then we find the mass, electric charge, and surface gravitational redshift by the parameters of the model and radius of the star.

Gauge Approach to The Symmetric Teleparallel Gravity

We discuss a gauge invariant gravity model in a non-Riemannian geometry in which the curvature and the torsion both are zero, the nonmetricity is nonzero. We also argue that only a metric ansatz is enough to start finding solutions to the field equations. As an application we obtain explicitly a conformally flat solution.

Anisotropic inflation with a non-minimally coupled electromagnetic field to gravity

We consider the non-minimal model of gravity in $Y(R) F^2$-form. We investigate a particular case of the model, for which the higher order derivatives are eliminated but the scalar curvature $R$ is kept to be dynamical via the constraint $Y_RF_{mn}F^{mn} =-\frac{2}{κ^2}$. The effective fluid obtained can be represented by interacting electromagnetic field and vacuum depending on $Y(R)$, namely, the energy density of the vacuum tracks $R$ while energy density of the conventional electromagnetic field is dynamically scaled with the factor $\frac{Y(R)}{2}$. We give exact solutions for anisotropic inflation by assuming the volume scale factor of the Universe exhibits a power-law expansion. The directional scale factors do not necessarily exhibit power-law expansion, which would give rise to a constant expansion anisotropy, but expand non-trivially and give rise to a non-monotonically evolving expansion anisotropy that eventually converges to a non-zero constant. Relying on this fact, we discuss the anisotropic e-fold during the inflation by considering observed scale invariance in CMB and demanding the Universe to undergo the same amount of e-folds in all directions. We calculate the residual expansion anisotropy at the end of inflation, though as a result of non-monotonic behaviour of expansion anisotropy all the axes of the Universe undergo the same of amount of e-folds by the end of inflation. We also discuss the generation of the modified electromagnetic field during the first few e-folds of the inflation and its persistence against to the vacuum till end of inflation.

Symmetric Teleparallel Gravity: Some exact solutions and spinor couplings

In this paper we elaborate on the symmetric teleparallel gravity (STPG) written in a non-Riemannian spacetime with nonzero nonmetricity, but zero torsion and zero curvature. Firstly we give a prescription for obtaining the nonmetricity from the metric in a peculiar gauge. Then we state that under a novel prescription of parallel transportation of a tangent vector in this non-Riemannian geometry the autoparallel curves coincides with those of the Riemannian spacetimes. Subsequently we represent the symmetric teleparallel theory of gravity by the most general quadratic and parity conserving lagrangian with lagrange multipliers for vanishing torsion and curvature. We show that our lagrangian is equivalent to the Einstein-Hilbert lagrangian for certain values of coupling coefficients. Thus we arrive at calculating the field equations via independent variations. Then we obtain in turn conformal, spherically symmetric static, cosmological and pp-wave solutions exactly. Finally we discuss a minimal coupling of a spin-1/2 field to STPG.

Non-minimal $RF^2$-type corrections to holographic superconductor

We study $(2+1)$-dimensional holographic superconductors in the presence of non-minimally coupled electromagnetic field to gravity by considering an arbitrary linear combination of $RF^2$-type invariants with three parameters. Our analytical analysis shows that the non-minimal couplings affect the condensate and the critical temperature.

Spinor coupling to the weak Poincare gauge theory of gravity in three dimensions

Minimal coupling of a Dirac field to gravity with the most general non-propagating torsion is considered in (1+2)-dimensions. The field equations are obtained from a lagrangian by a variational principle. The space-time torsion is calculated algebraically in terms of a quadratic spinor condensate plus coupling coefficients. Firstly we give circularly symmetric rotating exact solutions that collapse to $AdS_3$ geometry in the absence of the Dirac condensate. Secondly we investigate a BTZ-like solution.

Dirac field in topologically massive gravity

We consider a Dirac field coupled minimally to the Mielke-Baekler model of gravity and investigate cosmological solutions in three dimensions. We arrive at a family of solutions which exists even in the limit of vanishing cosmological constant.

Non-minimally coupled Dirac equation with torsion: Poincaré gauge theory of gravity with even and odd parity terms

We take a Dirac field non-minimally coupled to the gravitational field within the framework of the Poincaré gauge theory of gravity with torsion and curvature. We study the subcase of "weak" gravity, that is, the gravitational Lagrangian depends only linearly on the curvature and quadratically on the torsion. We include all pieces in curvature and torsion that are of odd parity. The second field equation of gravity is derived by varying the Lorentz connection. We solve it with respect to the torsion and decompose the first field equation of gravity and the Dirac equation into Einsteinian pieces and post-Riemannian terms.

Nonmetricity and torsion induced by dilaton gravity in two dimension

We develop a theory in which there are couplings amongst Dirac spinor, dilaton and non-Riemannian gravity and explore the nature of connection-induced dilaton couplings to gravity and Dirac spinor when the theory is reformulated in terms of the Levi-Civita connection. After presenting some exact solutions without spinors, we investigate the minimal spinor couplings to the model and in conclusion we can not find any nontrivial dilaton couplings to spinor.

Lagrange formulation of the symmetric teleparallel gravity

We develop a symmetric teleparallel gravity model in a space-time with only the non-metricity is nonzero, in terms of a Lagrangian quadratic in the non-metricity tensor. We present a detailed discussion of the variations that may be used for any gravitational formulation. We seek Schwarzschild-type solutions because of its observational significance and obtain a class of solutions that includes Schwarzschild-type, Schwarzschild-de Sitter-type and Reissner-Nordström-type solutions for certain values of the parameters. We also discuss the physical relevance of these solutions.

A Solution to Symmetric Teleparallel Gravity

Teleparallel gravity models, in which the curvature and the nonmetricity of spacetime are both set zero, are widely studied in the literature. We work a different teleparallel theory, in which the curvature and the torsion of spacetime are both constrained to zero, but the nonmetricity is nonzero. After reformulating the general relativity in this spacetime we find a solution and investigate its singularity structure.
