Note On Prime Gaps And Very Short Intervals

Assuming the Riemann hypothesis, this article discusses a new elementary argument that seems to prove that the maximal prime gap of a finite sequence of primes p_1, p_2, ..., p_n <= x, satisfies max {p_(n+1) - p_n : p_n <= x} <= c1((logx)^2)/loglogx, c1 > 0 constant. Equivalently, it shows that the very short intervals (x, x + y] contain prime numbers for all y > c2((logx)^2)/loglogx, c2 > 0 constant, and sufficiently large x > 0.

The Error Term In The Primes Counting Function

This article considers the error term of the primes counting function. It applies some recent results on the densities of prime numbers in short intervals to derive an improvement of the error term from subexponential size to fractional exponential size. The corresponding equivalent results for the zeros of the zeta function and Mertens conjecture are also discussed.

On Primes In Short Intervals

This note discusses the existence of prime numbers in short intervals. An unconditional elementary argument seems to prove the existence of primes in the short intervals [x, x + y], where y >= x^(1/2)(log x)^e, e > 0, and a sufficiently large number x > 0. Further, an extension of Bertrand's postulate to arithmetic progressions will be considered

Note on Integer Factoring Methods IV

This note continues the theoretical development of deterministic integer factorization algorithms based on systems of polynomials equations. The main result establishes a new deterministic time complexity bench mark in integer factorization.

Divisor and Totient Functions Estimates

New unconditional estimates of the divisor and totient functions are contributed to the literature. These results are consistent with the Riemann hypothesis and seem to solve the Nicolas inequality for all sufficiently large integers.

Note Integer Factoring Methods III

The best deterministic unconditionally proven integer factorization algorithms have exponential running time complexities of O(N^(1/4)) arithmetic operations, and conditional on the Riemann hypothesis, there is a deterministic algorithm of exponential running time complexity O(N^(1/5)). This note proposes a new deterministic integer factorization algorithm of deterministic exponential time complexity O(N^(1/6)). Furthermore, an algorithm for decomposing composite integers that have factor differences of the form q - p = (r - 1)N^(1/2) + u, where r > 1 is a fixed parameter, and | u | < N^(1/3), in deterministic logarithmic time and various other results are included.

Note on Integer Factoring Algorithms II

This note introduces a new class of integer factoring algorithms. Two versions of this method will be described, deterministic and probabilistic. These algorithms are practical, and can factor large classes of balanced integers N = pq, p < q < 2p in superpolynomial time. Further, an extension of the Fermat factoring method is proposed.

Note on Integer Factoring Methods I

This note presents the basic mathematical structure of a new integer factorization method based on systems of linear Diophantine equations.

Note on the ABC Conjecture

This note imparts heuristic arguments and theorectical evidences that contradict the abc conjecture over the rational numbers. In addition, the rudimentary datails for transforming this problem into the doimain of equidistribution theory are provided.

Note on the Tau Function

This note proposes an improved estimate of the coefficient t(n) of the discriminant modular form using elementary method. It improves a well known estimate of the tau function t(n) by Deligne.

On the Coefficients of Primitive Normal polynomials

The previous paper [4] proved the existence of primitive polynomials and primitive normal polynomials of degree n with k prescribed coefficients in the finite field GF(q) for all sufficiently large q. This paper presents a loger versions of the result on primitve normal polynomials.

Complexity of Computing Quadratic Nonresidues

This note provides new methods for constructing quadratic nonresidues in finite fields of characteristic p. It will be shown that there is an effective deterministic polynomial time algorithm for constructing quadratic nonresidues in finite fields.

On Evaluation of Nonlinear Exponential Sums

This paper provides a technique for evaluating some nonlinear Gaussian sums in closed forms. The evaluation is obtained from the known values of simpler exponential sums.

On Estimates of Exponential Sums

This paper introduces a general technique for estimating the absolute value of pure Gaussian sums of order k over a prime p for a class of composite order k. The new estimate improves the classical estimate by a factor of about 2 or better (depending on k) for all sufficiently large primes p.
