Wilson Holonomy and Spectral Monodromy in Spin-Orbit Rings: Effective Gauge Connections and Loop Observables

A spin-orbit Hamiltonian with an effective gauge structure carries two distinct loop objects that are routinely conflated: an energy-independent Wilson holonomy, which organizes interference and internal spin transport, and an energy-dependent monodromy, which quantizes the spectrum. We show that cleanly separating these objects supplies a precise, computable bridge between the loop/holonomy representation of gauge theories and condensed-matter spin-orbit transport. The construction maps a spin-orbit Hamiltonian to an effective $U(1)$ plus internal non-Abelian connection, reduces it to a first-order transport problem, and reads physical predictions from holonomy, monodromy, curvature, and eigenphase data. Two rings make the separation explicit. For a Dirac (graphene) ring with Rashba coupling and Aharonov-Bohm flux, the total holonomy factorizes exactly into a commuting $U(1)$ flux phase times an internal spin/pseudospin holonomy, and the spectrum follows from a holonomy-eigenvalue condition. For a Rashba-Dresselhaus ring, the internal $SU(2)$ transport is genuinely non-Abelian away from the $\alpha=\pm\beta$ pure-gauge locus, where curvature controls path ordering; spectral quantization then requires an explicit first-order reduction obtained by phase-space doubling of the second-order Schr\"odinger problem. A non-Abelian Stokes formulation and Magnus expansion serve as ordering diagnostics rather than spectral tools. Spin-network ideas enter only as historical geometric motivation, not as a dynamical import into spintronics.

Influence of anisotropic matter on the Alcubierre metric and other related metrics: revisiting the problem of negative energy

Negative energy scenarios are the most widely studied for the warp metric. In fact, the prevailing view in the community so far has been that the warp metric necessarily has negative energies. In this work it is shown that the issue of negative energy densities associated with the Alcubierre warp metric with a general form function and similar metrics can be addressed when the whole non--vacuum Einstein equations of the system are examined. To this end, we have considered matter content in the form of anisotropic fluids. We have succeeded in writing the Einstein equations in such a way that some general constraints on the material content become evident. This means that, in rectangular coordinates, the energy density depends necessarily on the tangential pressures of the fluid. For matter such as dust or isotropic fluids we find that density and other related quantities become identically zero. This makes the negative energy problem spurious. It is also revealed that constructing Alcubierre-based metrics using cylindrical and spherical coordinates results in a system of equations that are amenable to more systematic analysis. The field equations constrain the dependence of the form function and how this impacts the matter content. In all cases we determine that energy density is not mandatory negative, despite the recurrent claims in the literature. This result prompts a reevaluation of the negative energy requirements and underscore the importance of cylindrical and spherical type-warps to demonstrate that negative energy density is not an intrinsic unavoidable feature of warp drives.

Geometric Representation of Interacting Non-Relativistic Open Strings using Extended Objects

Non-relativistic charged open strings coupled with Abelian gauge fields are quantized in a geometric representation that generalizes the Loop Representation. The model consists of open-strings interacting through a Kalb-Ramond field in four dimensions. The geometric representation proposed uses lines and surfaces that can be interpreted as an extension of the picture of Faraday's lines of classical electromagnetism. This representation results to be consistent, provided the coupling constant (the "charge" of the string) is quantized. The Schrödinger equation in this representation is also presented.

Gauge field theory approach to spin transport in a 2D electron gas

We discuss the Pauli Hamiltonian including the spin-orbit interaction within an U(1) x SU(2) gauge theory interpretation, where the gauge symmetry appears to be broken. This interpretation offers new insight into the problem of spin currents in the condensed matter environment, and can be extended to Rashba and Dresselhaus spin-orbit interactions. We present a few outcomes of the present formulation: i) it automatically leads to zero spin conductivity, in contrast to predictions of Gauge symmetric treatments, ii) a topological quantization condition leading to voltage quantization follows, and iii) spin interferometers can be conceived in which, starting from a arbitrary incoming unpolarized spinor, it is always possible to construct a perfect spin filtering condition.

The Dynamical Behaviour of Test Particles in a Quasi-Spherical Spacetime and the Physical Meaning of Superenergy

We calculate the instantaneous proper radial acceleration of test particles (as measured by a locally defined Lorentzian observer) in a Weyl spacetime, close to the horizon. As expected from the Israel theorem, there appear some bifurcations with respect to the spherically symmetric case (Schwarzschild), which are explained in terms of the behaviour of the superenergy, bringing out the physical relevance of this quantity in the study of general relativistic systems.
