Dirac particle in Newman-Unti-Tamburino spacetime

We derive the Dirac equation for a particle in the background of the Newman-Unti-Tamburino (NUT) spacetime by applying the tetrad formalism, and separate the angular and radial parts. We get the system of two differential equations for angular functions and the system of four differential equations for radial functions. We solve the angular equations in terms of hypergeometric functions and find the NUT-charge dependent quantization rule for the angular separation constant. As a result of studying the radial equations, we demonstrate that the probability of particle-antiparticle production on the outer event horizon decreases with the increase of the NUT charge. For the massless fermion, we construct the solution of the radial system of Dirac equation in terms of the confluent Heun functions that allows to get the NUT-charge dependent scattering resonances with imaginary energies. Under the assumption of small NUT charge, we study the extremal NUT black hole with a single horizon, when the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy vanishes identically, and reveal the non-zero NUT charge effects in wave characteristics.

Optics in nonuniform media and Lagrange geometry

In this paper the equations of motion associated with a Lagrangian inspired by relativistic optics in nonuniform moving media are considered. The model describes optical effects in the nonuniform dispersionless moving medium. When using the optical metric restricted to the Minkowski manifold, we have established the Euler-Lagrange equations for geodesics. We have specified the general model to the special case when the refractive index increases along the direction $Z$. The exact analytical solutions of the corresponding Euler-Lagrange equations have been constructed. Analysis of the solutions shows that the light beams are bending to the axes $Z$ along which the refractive index increases.

Geometrothermodynamics of a gravitating system with axially symmetric metric

Theory of the first-order phase transition in contact statistical manifold has been proposed to describe interface systems. The theory has not limitations of known Van der Waals-like phase transitions theories. Based on this approach, geometrothermodynamics of gravitating systems with axially symmetric metric is investigated. It has been shown that such geometrothermodynamics occurs in space-ti,e with Newman-Unti-Tamburino metric.

Multiple-relaxation-time Finsler-Lagrange dynamics in a compressed Langmuir monolayer

In this paper an information geometric approach has been proposed to describe the two-dimensional (2d) phase transition of the first order in a monomolecular layer (monolayer) of amphiphilic molecules deposited on air/water interface. The structurization of the monolayer was simulated as an entropy evolution of a statistical set of microscopic states with a large number of relaxation times. The electrocapillary forces are considered as information constraints on the statistical manifold. The solution curves of Euler-Lagrange equations and the Jacobi field equations point out contracting pencils of geodesic trajectories on the statistical manifold, which may change into spreading ones, and converse. It was shown that the information geometrodynamics of the first-order phase transition in the Langmuir monolayer finds an appropriate realization within the Finsler-Lagrange framework.

Enhancement of Raman Light Scattering in Dye-Labeled Rat Glioma Cells by Langmuir-Blodgett CNT-Bundles Arranged on Metal-Containing Conducting Polymer Film

We have fabricated layered nanocomposite consisting of a nanoporous anodic alumina sublayer (AOA), an ultrathin metal-containing polymer Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) film coating AOA, and multi-walled carbon nanotube (MCNT) - bundles which are arranged on the LB-film. MCNTs were preliminarily chemically modified by carboxyl groups and functionalized by stearic acid. We have experimentally observed an enhancement of Raman light scattering on surface plasmons in the LB-monolayers. This enhancement is due to charge and energy transfer. We demonstrate that propidium iodide (PI) fluorescence is quenched by the MCNT-bundles. A method of two-dimensional system imaging based on the MCNT-enhanced Raman spectroscopy has been proposed. This method has been applied to visualize focal adhesion sites on membranes of living PI-labeled rat glioma cells.

Finsler geometrization of classic theory for fields on the interphase boundary including monomolecular 2D-system

We prove that the Ricci scalar curvature and the Berwald scalar curvature of a two-dimensional Finsler space, considered over a vector field on the 3-dimensional flat space, are naturally related to 2-dimensional electro-capillary phenomena effects observed for a compressed monolayer. The Cartan tensor and the nonlinear Barthel connection of the Finsler model are determined, and the geometric objects which depend on compression speed and on the characteristics of the electrically charged double layer are used in order to reveal several classes of structure formation within the phase transition of the first order.

Jet theoretical Yang-Mills energy in the geometric dynamics of 2D-monolayer

Langmuir-Blodgett films (LB-films) consist from few LB-monolayers which are high structured nanomaterials that are very promising materials for applications. We use a geometrical approach to describe structurization into LB-monolayers. Consequently, we develop on the 1-jet space J^1([0,\infty),R^2) the single-time Lagrange geometry (in the sense of distinguished (d-) connection, d-torsions and an abstract anisotropic electromagnetic-like d-field) for the Lagrangian governing the 2D-motion of a particle of monolayer. One assumed that an expansion near singular points for the constructed geometrical Lagrangian theory describe phase transitions to LB-monolayer. Trajectories of particles in a field of the electrocapillarity forces of monolayer have been calculated in a resonant approximation utilizing some Jacobi equations. A jet geometrical Yang-Mills energy is introduced and some physical interpretations are given.
