Global universality of the two-layer neural network with the $k$-rectified linear unit

This paper concerns the universality of the two-layer neural network with the $k$-rectified linear unit activation function with $k=1,2,\ldots$ with a suitable norm without any restriction on the shape of the domain. This type of result is called global universality, which extends the previous result for $k=1$ by the present authors. This paper covers $k$-sigmoidal functions as an application of the fundamental result on $k$-rectified linear unit functions.

Atomic decomposition for Morrey-Lorentz spaces

In this paper, we consider the atomic decomposition for Morrey-Lorentz spaces and applications. Morrey-Lorentz spaces, which have structures of Morrey spaces, Lorentz spaces and their weak-type spaces, are introduced by M. A. Ragusa in 2012. Our study gave some extension of the atomic decomposition to Morrey-Lorentz spaces. As an application, the Olsen inequality can be obtained more sharpness.

Complex Energy Spectrum and Time Evolution of QBIC States in a Two-Channel Quantum wire with an Adatom Impurity

We provide detailed analysis of the complex energy eigenvalue spectrum for a two-channel quantum wire with an attached adatom impurity. The study is based on our previous work [Phys. Rev. Lett. 99, 210404 (2007)], in which we presented the quasi-bound states in continuum (or QBIC states). These are resonant states with very long lifetimes that form as a result of two overlapping continuous energy bands one of which, at least, has a divergent van Hove singularity at the band edge. We provide analysis of the full energy spectrum for all solutions, including the QBIC states, and obtain an expansion for the complex eigenvalue of the QBIC state. We show that it has a small decay rate of the order $g^6$, where $g$ is the coupling constant. As a result of this expansion, we find that this state is a non-analytic effect resulting from the van Hove singularity; it cannot be predicted from the ordinary perturbation analysis that relies on Fermi's golden rule. We will also numerically demonstrate the time evolution of the QBIC state using the effective potential method in order to show the stability of the QBIC wave function in comparison with that of the other eigenstates.

A microscopic model of triangular arbitrage

We introduce a microscopic model which describes the dynamics of each dealer in multiple foreign exchange markets, taking account of the triangular arbitrage transaction. The model reproduces the interaction among the markets well. We explore the relation between the parameters of the present microscopic model and the spring constant of a macroscopic model that we proposed previously.

Universal Finite-Size Scaling Function of the Ferromagnetic Heisenberg Chain in a Magnetic Field,

The finite-size scaling function of the magnetization of the ferromagnetic Heisenberg chain is argued to be universal with respect to the magnitude of the spin. The finite-size scaling function is given explicitly by an analytical calculation in the classical limit $S=\infty.$ The universality is checked for $S=1/2$ and $1$ by means of numerical calculations. Critical exponents are obtained as well. It is concluded that this universal scaling function originates in the universal behavior of the correlation function.
