Compilation of isomeric ratios of light particle induced nuclear reactions

Experimental isomeric ratios of light (A$\le$4) particle-induced nuclear reactions were compiled for the product nuclides having metastable states with half-lives longer than 0.1 sec. The experimental isomeric ratio data were taken from the EXFOR library and reviewed. When an experiment reports isomer production cross sections instead of isomeric ratios, the cross sections taken from the EXFOR library were converted to the isomeric ratios by us. During compilation, questionable data (e.g.,preliminary data compiled in EXFOR in parallel with their final data, sum of isomer production cross sections larger than the total production cross sections) were excluded. As an application of the new compilation, goodness-of-fit was studied for the isomeric ratios predicted by the reaction model code TALYS-1.96.

Towards a More Complete and Accurate Experimental Nuclear Reaction Data Library (EXFOR): International Collaboration Between Nuclear Reaction Data Centres (NRDC)

The International Network of Nuclear Reaction Data Centres (NRDC) coordinated by the IAEA Nuclear Data Section (NDS) is successfully collaborating in the maintenance and development of the EXFOR library. As the scope of published data expands (e.g., to higher energy, to heavier projectile) to meet the needs from the frontier of sciences and applications, it becomes nowadays a hard and challenging task to maintain both completeness and accuracy of the whole EXFOR library. The paper describes evolution of the library with highlights on recent developments.

Uncertainties of calculated coincidence-summing correction factors in gamma-ray spectrometry

Uncertainty propagation to the $γ$-$γ$ coincidence-summing correction factor from the covariances of the nuclear data and detection efficiencies have been formulated. The method was applied in the uncertainty analysis of the coincidence-summing correction factors in the $γ$-ray spectrometry of the $^{134}$Cs point source using a p-type coaxial HPGe detector.

Mean-Field Effects on Collective Flows in High-Energy Heavy-Ion Collisions at 2-158A GeV energies

Collective flows in heavy-ion collisions from AGS ($(2-11)A$ GeV) to SPS ($(40,158)A$ GeV) energies are investigated in a nonequilibrium transport model with nuclear mean-field (MF). Sideward $ $, directed $v_1$, and elliptic flows $v_2$ are systematically studied with different assumptions on the nuclear equation of state (EOS). We find that momentum dependence in the nuclear MF is important for the understanding of the proton collective flows at AGS and SPS energies. Calculated results with momentum dependent MF qualitatively reproduce the experimental data of proton sideward, directed, and elliptic flows in a incident energy range of $(2-158)A$ GeV.

Systematic Study of Elliptic Flow at RHIC Energy

We study the elliptic flow systematically from SIS to RHIC energies in a realistic dynamical cascade model. We compile our results with the recent data from STAR and PHOBOS experiments on elliptic flow of charged particles in Au + Au collisions at RHIC energy. From the analysis of elliptic flow as a function of different dynamical variables such as transverse momenta, pseudorapidity and centrality at RHIC energy, we found a good fitting with data at 1.5 times a scaling factor to our simulation model, which characterizes that the model is required to have extra pressure generated from the subsequent parton scatterings. In energy dependence of elliptic flow, we observe a re-hardening nature at RHIC energies, which may probably signal the possible formation of quark-gluon plasma.

Sideward Peak of Intermediate Mass Fragments in High Energy Proton Induced Reactions

Intermediate mass fragment (IMF) formation in the 12 GeV proton induced reaction on Au target is analyzed by using a combined framework of a transport model (JAM/MF) and a newly developed non-equilibrium percolation (NEP) model. In this model, we can well reproduce the mass distribution of fragments. In addition, the sideward peaked angular distribution would emerge under the condition that the fragment formation time is very short, around 20 fm/c. Within this short time period, the un-heated part of the residual nucleus is kept to have doughnut shape, then the Coulomb repulsion from this shape strengthens the sideward peak of IMF.

Re-Hardening of Hadron Transverse Mass Spectra in Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collisions

We analyze the spectra of pions and protons in heavy-ion collisions at relativistic energies from 2 A GeV to 65+65 A GeV by using a jet-implemented hadron-string cascade model. In this energy region, hadron transverse mass spectra first show softening until SPS energies, and re-hardening may emerge at RHIC energies. Since hadronic matter is expected to show only softening at higher energy densities, this re-hardening of spectra can be interpreted as a good signature of the quark-gluon plasma formation.

Study of relativistic nuclear collisions at AGS energies from p+Be to Au+Au with hadronic cascade model

A hadronic cascade model based on resonances and strings is used to study mass dependence of relativistic nuclear collisions from p+Be to Au+Au at AGS energies ($\sim 10\AGeV$) systematically. Hadron transverse momentum and rapidity distributions obtained with both cascade calculations and Glauber type calculations are compared with experimental data to perform detailed discussion about the importance of rescattering among hadrons. We find good agreement with the experimental data without any change of model parameters with the cascade model. It is found that rescattering is of importance both for the explanation of high transverse momentum tail and for the multiplicity of produced particles.
