Graph skein modules and symmetry of spatial graphs

In this paper, we compute the graph skein algebra of the punctured disk with two holes. Then, we apply the graph skein techniques developed here to establish necessary conditions for a spatial graph to have a symmetry of order $p$, where $p$ is a prime. The obstruction criteria introduced here extend some results obtained earlier for symmetric spatial graphs.

Equivariant Khovanov homology associated with symmetric links

Let $Δ$ be a trivial knot in the three-sphere. For every finite cyclic group $G$ of odd order, we construct a $G$-equivariant Khovanov homology with coefficients in the filed $\F_{2}$. This homology is an invariant of links up to isotopy in $(S^{3},Δ)$. Another interpretation is given using the categorification of the Kauffman bracket skein module of the solid torus. Our techniques apply in the case of graphs as well to define an equivariant version of the graph homology which categorifies the chromatic polynomial. Keywords: Khovanov homology, group action, equivariant Jones polynomial, skein modules.

Strong periodicity of links and the coefficients of the Conway polynomial

Przytycki and Sokolov proved that a three-manifold admits a semi-free action of the finite cyclic group of order $p$ with a circle as the set of fixed points if and only if $M$ is obtained from the three-sphere by surgery along a strongly $p-$periodic link $L$. Moreover, if the quotient three-manifold is an integral homology sphere, then we may assume that $L$ is orbitally separated. This paper studies the behavior of the coefficients of the Conway polynomial of such a link. Namely, we prove that if $L$ is a strongly $p$-periodic orbitally separated link and $p$ is an odd prime, then the coefficient $a_{2i}(L)$ is congruent to zero modulo $p$ for all $i$ such that $2i<p-1$. \\

Skein Algebras of the solid torus and symmetric spatial graphs

We use the topological invariant of spatial graphs introduced by S. Yamada to find necessary conditions for a spatial graph to be periodic with a prime period. The proof of the main result is based on computing the Yamada skein algebra of the solid torus then proving that this algebra injects into the Kauffman bracket skein algebra of the solid torus.

A new criterion for knots with free periods

Let $p\geq 2$ and $q\neq 0$ an integer. A knot $K$ in the three-sphere is said to be a $(p,q)$-lens knot if and only if it covers a link in the lens space $L(p,q)$. In this paper, we use the second coefficient of the HOMFLY polynomial to provide a necessary condition for a knot to be a $(p,q)$-lens knot. As an application, it is shown that this criterion rules out the possibility of being $(5,1)$-lens for 80 among the 84 knots with less than 9 crossings.

Quantum invariants and finite group actions on three-manifolds

A 3-manifold $M$ is said to be $p$-periodic ($p\geq 2$ an integer) if and only if the finite cyclic group of order $p$ acts on $M$ with a circle as the set of fixed points. This paper provides a criterion for periodicity of rational homology three-spheres. Namely, we give a necessary condition for a rational homology three-sphere to be periodic with a prime period. This condition is given in terms of the quantum SU(3) invariant. We also discuss similar results for the Murakami-Ohtsuki-Okada invariant.
