An exact spacetime polymer gas for finite-temperature $\mathbb Z_N$ homological quantum code

We study finite-temperature $P$-form $\mathbb Z_N$ homological codes via an exact finite-Trotter quantum-to-classical map to a $(d+1)$-dimensional spacetime model with electric and magnetic topological background charges. The resulting background-resolved partition functions admit an exact reformulation in terms of closed magnetic and electric defect polymers, with opposite-species interactions governed by linking phases. By bounding this complex polymer gas by positive same-species hard-core majorant gases, we obtain an explicit low-activity criterion under which all background-dependent partition functions are uniformly controlled and homologically nontrivial polymers are exponentially suppressed on the scale of the spacetime systole. We also derive an exact higher-form Kramers-Wannier duality exchanging electric and magnetic backgrounds, Wilson and 't Hooft operators, and $P$-form and $(d-P)$-form theories. Finally, for prime $N$, we identify an exact source-free gauge-theory specialization coupled to the plaquette random-cluster model, which imports sharp phase-transition results on special geometries into the spacetime framework.

Universality of Gaussian-Mixture Reverse Kernels in Conditional Diffusion

We prove that conditional diffusion models whose reverse kernels are finite Gaussian mixtures with ReLU-network logits can approximate suitably regular target distributions arbitrarily well in context-averaged conditional KL divergence, up to an irreducible terminal mismatch that typically vanishes with increasing diffusion horizon. A path-space decomposition reduces the output error to this mismatch plus per-step reverse-kernel errors; assuming each reverse kernel factors through a finite-dimensional feature map, each step becomes a static conditional density approximation problem, solved by composing Norets' Gaussian-mixture theory with quantitative ReLU bounds. Under exact terminal matching the resulting neural reverse-kernel class is dense in conditional KL.

Symmetry topological field theory and non-abelian Kramers-Wannier dualities of generalised Ising models

For a class of two-dimensional Euclidean lattice field theories admitting topological lines encoded into a spherical fusion category, we explore aspects of their realisations as boundary theories of a three-dimensional topological quantum field theory. After providing a general framework for explicitly constructing such realisations, we specialise to non-abelian generalisations of the Ising model and consider two operations: gauging an arbitrary subsymmetry and performing Fourier transforms of the local weights encoding the dynamics of the theory. These are carried out both in a traditional way and in terms of the three-dimensional topological quantum field theory. Whenever the whole symmetry is gauged, combining both operations recovers the non-abelian Kramers-Wannier duals à la Freed and Teleman of the generalised Ising models. Moreover, we discuss the interplay between renormalisation group fixed points of gapped symmetric phases and these generalised Kramers-Wannier dualities.

Refined Invariants and Quantum Curves from Supersymmetric Localization

We study an Aganagic-Vafa brane supported on a special Lagrangian submanifold $\mathcal{L}$ in a non-compact toric Calabi-Yau threefold $\mathcal{X}$. From the perspective of geometric engineering, the Aganagic-Vafa branes give rise to a special class of half-BPS codimension-two defects in 5d $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric field theories in the presence of $Ω$-background. We propose that the defect partition functions give generating functions of refined, non-negative, integral open BPS invariants of the pair $(\mathcal{X},\mathcal{L})$, across different Kähler moduli chambers they are expanded in. In the Nekrasov-Shatashvili limit, the partition function provides a partially resummed solution to a $q$-difference equation that quantizes the mirror curve of $\mathcal{X}$ in an unambiguous fashion, in a polarization determined by the discrete labels of the Aganagic-Vafa brane. We demonstrate our method at examples of $\mathbb{C}^3$, resolved conifold, resolved $A_1$-singularity, local $F_0$, and local $F_1$.

R-matrices and Miura operators in 5d Chern-Simons theory

We derive Miura operators for $W$- and $Y$-algebras from first principles as the expectation value of the intersection between a topological line defect and a holomorphic surface defect in 5-dimensional non-commutative $\mathfrak{gl}(1)$ Chern-Simons theory. The expectation value, viewed as the transition amplitude for states in the defect theories forming representations of the affine Yangian of $\mathfrak{gl}(1)$, satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation and is thus interpreted as an R-matrix. To achieve this, we identify the representations associated with the line and surface defects by calculating the operator product expansions (OPEs) of local operators on the defects, as conditions that anomalous Feynman diagrams cancel each other. We then evaluate the expectation value of the defect intersection using Feynman diagrams. When the line and surface defects are specified, we demonstrate that the expectation value precisely matches the Miura operators and their products.

Elliptic Stable Envelopes for Certain Non-Symplectic Varieties and Dynamical $R$-Matrices for Superspin Chains from the Bethe/Gauge Correspondence

We generalize Aganagic-Okounkov's theory of elliptic stable envelopes, and its physical realization in Dedushenko-Nekrasov's and Bullimore-Zhang's works, to certain varieties without holomorphic symplectic structure or polarization. These classes of varieties include, in particular, classical Higgs branches of 3d $\mathcal N=2$ quiver gauge theories. The Bethe/gauge correspondence relates such a gauge theory to an anisotropic/elliptic superspin chain, and the stable envelopes compute the $R$-matrix that solves the dynamical Yang-Baxter equation (dYBE) for this spin chain. As an illustrative example, we solve the dYBE for the elliptic $\mathfrak{sl}(1|1)$ spin chain with fundamental representations using the corresponding 3d $\mathcal N=2$ SQCD whose classical Higgs branch is the Lascoux resolution of a determinantal variety. Certain Janus partition functions of this theory on $I \times \mathbb E$ for an interval $I$ and an elliptic curve $\mathbb E$ compute the elliptic stable envelopes, and in turn the geometric elliptic $R$-matrix, of the anisotropic $\mathfrak{sl}(1|1)$ spin chain. Furthermore, we consider the 2d and 1d reductions of elliptic stable envelopes and the $R$-matrix. The reduction to 2d gives the K-theoretic stable envelopes and the trigonometric $R$-matrix, and a further reduction to 1d produces the cohomological stable envelopes and the rational $R$-matrix. The latter recovers Rimányi-Rozansky's results that appeared recently in the mathematical literature.

Line Operators in 4d Chern-Simons Theory and Cherkis Bows

We show that the phase spaces of a large family of line operators in 4d Chern-Simons theory with $\text{GL}_n$ gauge group are given by Cherkis bow varieties with $n$ crosses. These line operators are characterized by Hanany-Witten type brane constructions involving D3, D5, and NS5 branes in an $Ω$-background. Linking numbers of the five-branes and mass parameters for the D3 brane theories determine the phase spaces and in special cases they correspond to vacuum moduli spaces of 3d $\mathcal{N}=4$ quiver theories. Examples include line operators that conjecturally create T, Q, and L-operators in integrable spin chains.

Superspin chains from superstring theory

We present a correspondence between two-dimensional $\mathcal{N} = (2,2)$ supersymmetric gauge theories and rational integrable $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ spin chains with spin variables taking values in Verma modules. To explain this correspondence, we realize the gauge theories as configurations of branes in string theory and map them by dualities to brane configurations that realize line defects in four-dimensional Chern-Simons theory with gauge group $\mathrm{GL}(m|n)$. The latter configurations embed the superspin chains into superstring theory. We also provide a string theory derivation of a similar correspondence, proposed by Nekrasov, for rational $\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ spin chains with spins valued in finite-dimensional representations.

Topological Holography: The Example of The D2-D4 Brane System

We propose a toy model for holographic duality. The model is constructed by embedding a stack of $N$ D2-branes and $K$ D4-branes (with one dimensional intersection) in a 6D topological string theory. The world-volume theory on the D2-branes (resp. D4-branes) is 2D BF theory (resp. 4D Chern-Simons theory) with $\mathrm{GL}_N$ (resp. $\mathrm{GL}_K$) gauge group. We propose that in the large $N$ limit the BF theory on $\mathbb{R}^2$ is dual to the closed string theory on $\mathbb R^2 \times \mathbb R_+ \times S^3$ with the Chern-Simons defect on $\mathbb R \times \mathbb R_+ \times S^2$. As a check for the duality we compute the operator algebra in the BF theory, along the D2-D4 intersection -- the algebra is the Yangian of $\mathfrak{gl}_K$. We then compute the same algebra, in the guise of a scattering algebra, using Witten diagrams in the Chern-Simons theory. Our computations of the algebras are exact (valid at all loops). Finally, we propose a physical string theory construction of this duality using a D3-D5 brane configuration in type IIB -- using supersymmetric twist and $Ω$-deformation.

Disk, interval, point: on constructions of quantum field theories with holomorphic action functionals

Bosonic quantum field theories with holomorphic action functionals are realized by two types of constructions involving supersymmetric quantum field theories, compactified on an interval in one type and compactified on a disk and deformed in the other. We establish the equivalence between the two types of constructions by reducing the disk to the interval and the interval to a point. As examples, we discuss constructions of zero-dimensional gauged sigma model, gauged quantum mechanics, gauged symplectic bosons in two dimensions, and Chern-Simons theory and its higher-dimensional variants.

2D BPS Rings from Sphere Partition Functions

We consider extremal correlation functions, involving arbitrary number of BPS (chiral or twisted chiral) operators and exactly one anti-BPS operator in 2D N=(2,2) theories. These correlators define the structure constants in the rings generated by the BPS operators with their operator product expansions. We present a way of computing these correlators from the sphere partition function of a deformed theory using localization. Relating flat space and sphere correlators is nontrivial due to operator mixing on the sphere induced by conformal anomaly. We discuss the supergravitational source of this complication and a resolution thereof. Finally, we demonstrate the process for the Quintic GLSM and the Landau-Ginzburg minimal models.

Correlation Functions of Coulomb Branch Operators

We consider the correlation functions of Coulomb branch operators in four-dimensional N=2 Superconformal Field Theories (SCFTs) involving exactly one anti-chiral operator. These extremal correlators are the "minimal" non-holomorphic local observables in the theory. We show that they can be expressed in terms of certain determinants of derivatives of the four-sphere partition function of an appropriate deformation of the SCFT. This relation between the extremal correlators and the deformed four-sphere partition function is non-trivial due to the presence of conformal anomalies, which lead to operator mixing on the sphere. Evaluating the deformed four-sphere partition function using supersymmetric localization, we compute the extremal correlators explicitly in many interesting examples. Additionally, the representation of the extremal correlators mentioned above leads to a system of integrable differential equations. We compare our exact results with previous perturbative computations and with the four-dimensional tt^* equations. We also use our results to study some of the asymptotic properties of the perturbative series expansions we obtain in N=2 SQCD.

Kahler Potential and Ambiguities in 4d N=2 SCFTs

The partition function of four-dimensional N=2 superconformal field theories on S^4 computes the exact Kahler potential on the space of exactly marginal couplings [1]. We present a new elementary proof of this result using supersymmetry Ward identities. The partition function is a section rather than a function, and is subject to ambiguities coming from Kahler transformations acting on the Kahler potential. This ambiguity is realized by a local supergravity counterterm in the underlying SCFT. We provide an explicit construction of the Kahler ambiguity counterterm in the four dimensional N=2 off-shell supergravity theory that admits S^4 as a supersymmetric background.

Modeling Electronic and Thermal Characteristics of Ge/Si-Core/Shell Nanowire Quantum Dot in the Coulomb Blockade Regime

We investigate the transport characteristics of Ge/Si-Core/Shell nanowire with Coulomb Blockade in presence of external magneto-electric fields from a theoretical basis. Using the effective Luttinger-Kohn Hamiltonian we calculate the valence band energy states of the nanowire and find out the state density at mili-Kelvin temperature. We explore the current-voltage and conductance-voltage characteristics. The observed transport characteristics are in close agreement with experimental data. We find these characteristics to be sensitive to the coupling of the quantum dot with the reservoirs. The quantum nature of the characteristics becomes less prominent with increasing temperature, as expected.
