Electronic Origin of Ferromagnetic Excitations in the Candidate Spin-Triplet Superconductor CeSb2

The origin of quasi-one-dimensional (q1D) ferromagnetic (FM) excitations in the candidate spin-triplet superconductor CeSb$_2$ has remained unclear. Here we report an electronic mechanism for emergent q1D magnetism in the quasi-two-dimensional lattice of CeSb$_2$, revealed by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES). High-resolution ARPES resolves no spin-density-wave gap on the dispersive Fermi pockets, disfavoring a nesting-driven mechanism for the q1D FM excitations. Instead, resonant ARPES reveals a pronounced selective enhancement of Ce 4$f$ spectral weight on the $C_2$-distributed Fermi pockets aligned with the Ce ladder. This observation signifies band-selective Kondo coupling that generates strongly anisotropic magnetic exchange interactions, which can naturally account for both the q1D ferromagnetic excitations and the competing magnetic orders. Our results identify a band-selective Kondo coupling mechanism for emergent low-dimensional magnetism in correlated $f$-electron systems.

Beyond Mamba: Enhancing State-space Models with Deformable Dilated Convolutions for Multi-scale Traffic Object Detection

In a real-world traffic scenario, varying-scale objects are usually distributed in a cluttered background, which poses great challenges to accurate detection. Although current Mamba-based methods can efficiently model long-range dependencies, they still struggle to capture small objects with abundant local details, which hinders joint modeling of local structures and global semantics. Moreover, state-space models exhibit limited hierarchical feature representation and weak cross-scale interaction due to flat sequential modeling and insufficient spatial inductive biases, leading to sub-optimal performance in complex scenes. To address these issues, we propose a Mamba with Deformable Dilated Convolutions Network (MDDCNet) for accurate traffic object detection in this study. In MDDCNet, a well-designed hybrid backbone with successive Multi-Scale Deformable Dilated Convolution (MSDDC) blocks and Mamba blocks enables hierarchical feature representation from local details to global semantics. Meanwhile, a Channel-Enhanced Feed-Forward Network (CE-FFN) is further devised to overcome the limited channel interaction capability of conventional feed-forward networks, whilst a Mamba-based Attention-Aggregating Feature Pyramid Network (A^2FPN) is constructed to achieve enhanced multi-scale feature fusion and interaction. Extensive experimental results on public benchmark and real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method over various advanced detectors. Biased-Attention Guided Risk Prediction for Safe Decision-Making at Unsignalized Intersections

Autonomous driving decision-making at unsignalized intersections is highly challenging due to complex dynamic interactions and high conflict risks. To achieve proactive safety control, this paper proposes a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) decision-making framework integrated with a biased attention mechanism. The framework is built upon the Soft Actor-Critic (SAC) algorithm. Its core innovation lies in the use of biased attention to construct a traffic risk predictor. This predictor assesses the long-term risk of collision for a vehicle entering the intersection and transforms this risk into a dense reward signal to guide the SAC agent in making safe and efficient driving decisions. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively improves both traffic efficiency and vehicle safety at the intersection, thereby proving the effectiveness of the intelligent decision-making framework in complex scenarios. The code of our work is available at https://github.com/hank111525/SAC-RWB.

Joint-octamamba:an octa joint segmentation network based on feature enhanced mamba

OCTA is a crucial non-invasive imaging technique for diagnosing and monitoring retinal diseases like diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Current 2D-based methods for retinal vessel (RV) segmentation offer insufficient accuracy. To address this, we propose RVMamba, a novel architecture integrating multiple feature extraction modules with the Mamba state-space model. Moreover, existing joint segmentation models for OCTA data exhibit performance imbalance between different tasks. To simultaneously improve the segmentation of the foveal avascular zone (FAZ) and mitigate this imbalance, we introduce FAZMamba and a unified Joint-OCTAMamba framework. Experimental results on the OCTA-500 dataset demonstrate that Joint-OCTAMamba outperforms existing models across evaluation metrics. The code is available at https://github.com/lc-sfis/Joint-OCTAMamba.

Observation of Electride-like $s$ States Coexisting with Correlated $d$ Electrons in NdNiO$_2$

Despite exhibiting a similar $d_{x^2-y^2}$ band character to cuprates, infinite-layer nickelates host additional electron pockets that distinguish them from single-band cuprates. The elusive orbital origin of these electron pockets has led to competing theoretical scenarios. Here, using polarization-dependent and resonant angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES), we determine the orbital character of the Fermi surfaces in NdNiO$_2$. Our data reveal that the electron-like pocket arises predominantly from interstitial $s$ states, with negligible contributions from rare-earth 5$d$ and 4$f$ orbitals near the Fermi level. The observation of well-defined quantum well states indicates a uniform distribution of these interstitial electrons throughout the film thickness. By comparing with electronic structure of LaNiO$_2$, we find that the rare-earth element modulates the Ni-derived bands and hopping integrals through a chemical pressure effect. These findings clarify the role of rare-earth elements in shaping the low-energy electronic structure and establish the presence of electride-like interstitial $s$ states in a correlated oxide system, where electrons occupy lattice voids rather than atomic orbitals. The electride-like character offer new insight into the self-doping and superconductivity in infinite-layer nickelates.

High Temperature Superconductivity Dominated by Inner Underdoped CuO$_2$ Planes in Quadruple-Layer Cuprate (Cu,C)Ba$_2$Ca$_3$Cu$_4$O$_{11+\delta}$

The superconducting transition temperature ($T_{\mathrm{c}}$) of trilayer or quadruple-layer cuprates typically surpasses that of single-layer or bilayer systems. This observation is often interpreted within the ``composite picture", where strong proximity effect between inner CuO$_2$ planes (IPs) and outer CuO$_2$ planes (OPs) is crucial. Albeit intriguing, a straightforward scrutinization of this composite picture is still lacking. In this study, using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy to investigate (Cu,C)Ba$_2$Ca$_3$Cu$_4$O$_{11+\delta}$ (CuC-1234) with a high $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ of 110~K, we found that the OPs are not superconducting at the $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ of the material. Instead, the large pairing strength and phase coherence concurrently emerge at the underdoped IPs, suggesting that the high $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ is primarily driven by these underdoped IPs. Given that the $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ of CuC-1234 is comparable to other trilayer or quadruple-layer cuprates, our findings suggest that the conventional ``composite picture" is not universally required for achieving high $T_{\mathrm{c}}$. More importantly, we demonstrate that CuO$_2$ planes free of apical oxygen can support superconductivity up to 110~K even at a doping level of 0.07 holes per Cu, a level that lies deep in the underdoped regime of single- and bilayer cuprates. These findings provide new insights into the origin of high $T_{\mathrm{c}}$ in multilayer cuprates.

Choquet rating criteria, risk measures, and risk consistency

Credit ratings are widely used by investors as a screening device. We introduce and study several natural notions of risk consistency that promote prudent investment decisions in the framework of Choquet rating criteria. Three closely related notions of risk consistency are considered: with respect to risk aversion, the asset pooling effect, and the benefit of portfolio diversification. These notions are formulated either under a single probability measure or multiple probability measures. We show how these properties translate between rating criteria and the corresponding risk measures, and establish a hierarchical structure among them. These findings lead to a full characterization of Choquet risk measures and Choquet rating criteria satisfying risk consistency properties. Illustrated by case studies on collateralized loan obligations and catastrophe bonds, some classes of Choquet rating criteria serve as useful alternatives to the probability of default and expected loss criteria used in practice for rating financial products.

Large Processor Chip Model

Computer System Architecture serves as a crucial bridge between software applications and the underlying hardware, encompassing components like compilers, CPUs, coprocessors, and RTL designs. Its development, from early mainframes to modern domain-specific architectures, has been driven by rising computational demands and advancements in semiconductor technology. However, traditional paradigms in computer system architecture design are confronting significant challenges, including a reliance on manual expertise, fragmented optimization across software and hardware layers, and high costs associated with exploring expansive design spaces. While automated methods leveraging optimization algorithms and machine learning have improved efficiency, they remain constrained by a single-stage focus, limited data availability, and a lack of comprehensive human domain knowledge. The emergence of large language models offers transformative opportunities for the design of computer system architecture. By leveraging the capabilities of LLMs in areas such as code generation, data analysis, and performance modeling, the traditional manual design process can be transitioned to a machine-based automated design approach. To harness this potential, we present the Large Processor Chip Model (LPCM), an LLM-driven framework aimed at achieving end-to-end automated computer architecture design. The LPCM is structured into three levels: Human-Centric; Agent-Orchestrated; and Model-Governed. This paper utilizes 3D Gaussian Splatting as a representative workload and employs the concept of software-hardware collaborative design to examine the implementation of the LPCM at Level 1, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach. Furthermore, this paper provides an in-depth discussion on the pathway to implementing Level 2 and Level 3 of the LPCM, along with an analysis of the existing challenges.

RTLRepoCoder: Repository-Level RTL Code Completion through the Combination of Fine-Tuning and Retrieval Augmentation

As an essential part of modern hardware design, manually writing Register Transfer Level (RTL) code such as Verilog is often labor-intensive. Following the tremendous success of large language models (LLMs), researchers have begun to explore utilizing LLMs for generating RTL code. However, current studies primarily focus on generating simple single modules, which can not meet the demands in real world. In fact, due to challenges in managing long-context RTL code and complex cross-file dependencies, existing solutions cannot handle large-scale Verilog repositories in practical hardware development. As the first endeavor to exclusively adapt LLMs for large-scale RTL development, we propose RTLRepoCoder, a groundbreaking solution that incorporates specific fine-tuning and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for repository-level Verilog code completion. Open-source Verilog repositories from the real world, along with an extended context size, are used for domain-specific fine-tuning. The optimized RAG system improves the information density of the input context by retrieving relevant code snippets. Tailored optimizations for RAG are carried out, including the embedding model, the cross-file context splitting strategy, and the chunk size. Our solution achieves state-of-the-art performance on public benchmark, significantly surpassing GPT-4 and advanced domain-specific LLMs on Edit Similarity and Exact Match rate. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate the remarkable effectiveness of our approach and offer insights for future work.

Inferior interfacial superconductivity in 1 UC FeSe/SrVO$_3$/SrTiO$_3$ with screened interfacial electron-phonon coupling

Monolayer FeSe/TiO$_x$ and FeSe/FeO$_x$ interfaces exhibit significant superconductivity enhancement compared to bulk FeSe, with interfacial electron-phonon coupling (EPC) playing a crucial role. However, the reduced dimensionality in monolayer FeSe, which may drive superconducting fluctuations, complicates the understanding of the enhancement mechanisms. Here we construct a new superconducting interface: monolayer FeSe/SrVO$_3$/SrTiO$_3$, in which the itinerant electrons of highly metallic SrVO$_3$ films can screen all the high-energy Fuchs-Kliewer phonons, including those of SrTiO$_3$, making it the first FeSe/oxide system with screened interfacial EPC while maintaining the monolayer FeSe thickness. Despite comparable doping levels, the heavily electron-doped monolayer FeSe/SrVO$_3$ exhibits a lower pairing temperature ($T_\mathrm{g}$ $\sim$ 48 K) than FeSe/SrTiO$_3$ and FeSe/LaFeO$_3$. Our findings disentangle the contributions of interfacial EPC from dimensionality on enhancing $T_\mathrm{g}$ in FeSe/oxide interfaces, underscoring the importance of interfacial EPC in $T_\mathrm{g}$ enhancement. This FeSe/VO$_x$ interface also provides a platform for studying the interfacial superconductivity.

ITERTL: An Iterative Framework for Fine-tuning LLMs for RTL Code Generation

Recently, large language models (LLMs) have demonstrated excellent performance, inspiring researchers to explore their use in automating register transfer level (RTL) code generation and improving hardware design efficiency. However, the existing approaches to fine-tune LLMs for RTL generation typically are conducted on fixed datasets, which do not fully stimulate the capability of LLMs and require large amounts of reference data, which are costly to acquire. To mitigate these issues, we innovatively introduce an iterative training paradigm named ITERTL. During each iteration, samples are drawn from the model trained in the previous cycle. Then these new samples are employed for training in current loop. Furthermore, we introduce a plug-and-play data filtering strategy, thereby encouraging the model to generate high-quality, self-contained code. Our model outperforms GPT4 and state-of-the-art (SOTA) open-source models, achieving remarkable 53.8% pass@1 rate on VerilogEval-human benchmark. Under similar conditions of data quantity and quality, our approach significantly outperforms the baseline. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Orientation-dependent electron-phonon coupling in interfacial superconductors LaAlO3/KTaO3

The emergent superconductivity at the LaAlO3/KTaO3 interfaces exhibits a mysterious dependence on the KTaO3 crystallographic orientations. Here we show, by soft X-ray angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, that the interfacial superconductivity is contributed by mobile electrons with unexpected quasi-three-dimensional character, beyond the "two-dimensional electron gas" scenario in describing oxide interfaces. At differently-oriented interfaces, the quasi-three-dimensional electron gas ubiquitously exists and spatially overlaps with the small q Fuchs-Kliewer surface phonons. Intriguingly, electrons and the Fuchs-Kliewer phonons couple with different strengths depending on the interfacial orientations, and the stronger coupling correlates with the higher superconducting transition temperature. Our results provide a natural explanation for the orientation-dependent superconductivity, and the first evidence that interfacial orientations can affect electron-phonon coupling strength over several nanometers, which may have profound implications for the applications of oxide interfaces in general.

Dynamic Distribution of Edge Intelligence at the Node Level for Internet of Things

In this paper, dynamic deployment of Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architecture is proposed utilizing only IoT-level devices. By partitioning and pipelining the CNN, it horizontally distributes the computation load among resource-constrained devices (called horizontal collaboration), which in turn increases the throughput. Through partitioning, we can decrease the computation and energy consumption on individual IoT devices and increase the throughput without sacrificing accuracy. Also, by processing the data at the generation point, data privacy can be achieved. The results show that throughput can be increased by 1.55x to 1.75x for sharing the CNN into two and three resource-constrained devices, respectively.

Top-Related Meta-Learning Method for Few-Shot Object Detection

Many meta-learning methods are proposed for few-shot detection. However, previous most methods have two main problems, poor detection APs, and strong bias because of imbalance and insufficient datasets. Previous works mainly alleviate these issues by additional datasets, multi-relation attention mechanisms and sub-modules. However, they require more cost. In this work, for meta-learning, we find that the main challenges focus on related or irrelevant semantic features between categories. Therefore, based on semantic features, we propose a Top-C classification loss (i.e., TCL-C) for classification task and a category-based grouping mechanism for category-based meta-features obtained by the meta-model. The TCL-C exploits the true-label prediction and the most likely C-1 false classification predictions to improve detection performance on few-shot classes. According to similar appearance (i.e., visual appearance, shape, and limbs etc.) and environment in which objects often appear, the category-based grouping mechanism splits categories into disjoint groups to make similar semantic features more compact between categories within a group and obtain more significant difference between groups, alleviating the strong bias problem and further improving detection APs. The whole training consists of the base model and the fine-tuning phases. According to grouping mechanism, we group the meta-features vectors obtained by meta-model, so that the distribution difference between groups is obvious, and the one within each group is less. Extensive experiments on Pascal VOC dataset demonstrate that ours which combines the TCL-C with category-based grouping significantly outperforms previous state-of-the-art methods for few-shot detection. Compared with previous competitive baseline, ours improves detection APs by almost 4% for few-shot detection.

Pixel-Semantic Revise of Position Learning A One-Stage Object Detector with A Shared Encoder-Decoder

Recently, many methods have been proposed for object detection. They cannot detect objects by semantic features, adaptively. In this work, according to channel and spatial attention mechanisms, we mainly analyze that different methods detect objects adaptively. Some state-of-the-art detectors combine different feature pyramids with many mechanisms to enhance multi-level semantic information. However, they require more cost. This work addresses that by an anchor-free detector with shared encoder-decoder with attention mechanism, extracting shared features. We consider features of different levels from backbone (e.g., ResNet-50) as the basis features. Then, we feed the features into a simple module, followed by a detector header to detect objects. Meantime, we use the semantic features to revise geometric locations, and the detector is a pixel-semantic revising of position. More importantly, this work analyzes the impact of different pooling strategies (e.g., mean, maximum or minimum) on multi-scale objects, and finds the minimum pooling improve detection performance on small objects better. Compared with state-of-the-art MNC based on ResNet-101 for the standard MSCOCO 2014 baseline, our method improves detection AP of 3.8%.

Video Face Recognition System: RetinaFace-mnet-faster and Secondary Search

Face recognition is widely used in the scene. However, different visual environments require different methods, and face recognition has a difficulty in complex environments. Therefore, this paper mainly experiments complex faces in the video. First, we design an image pre-processing module for fuzzy scene or under-exposed faces to enhance images. Our experimental results demonstrate that effective images pre-processing improves the accuracy of 0.11%, 0.2% and 1.4% on LFW, WIDER FACE and our datasets, respectively. Second, we propose RetinacFace-mnet-faster for detection and a confidence threshold specification for face recognition, reducing the lost rate. Our experimental results show that our RetinaFace-mnet-faster for 640*480 resolution on the Tesla P40 and single-thread improve speed of 16.7% and 70.2%, respectively. Finally, we design secondary search mechanism with HNSW to improve performance. Ours is suitable for large-scale datasets, and experimental results show that our method is 82% faster than the violent retrieval for the single-frame detection.

Seeded growth of high-quality transition metal dichalcogenide single crystals via chemical vapor transport

Transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) are van der Waals layered materials with sizable and tunable bandgaps, offering promising platforms for two-dimensional electronics and optoelectronics. To this end, the bottleneck is how to acquire high-quality single crystals in a facile and efficient manner. As one of the most widely employed method of single-crystal growth, conventional chemical vapor transport (CVT) generally encountered problems including the excess nucleation that leads to small crystal clusters and slow growth rate. To address these issues, a seed crystal is introduced to suppress the nucleation and an inner tube is adopted as both a separator and a flow restrictor, favoring the growth of large-size and high-quality TMD single crystals successfully. Three examples are presented, the effective growth of millimeter-sized MoSe2 and MoTe2 single crystals, and the greatly shortened growth period for PtSe2 single crystal, all of which are synthesized in high quality according to detailed characterizations. The mechanism of seeded CVT is discussed. Furthermore, a phototransistor based on exfoliated multi-layered MoSe2 displays excellent photoresponse in ambient conditions, and considerably rapid rise and fall time of 110 and 125 us are obtained. This work paves the way for developing a facile and versatile method to synthesize high-quality TMD single crystals in laboratory, which could serve as favorable functional materials for potential low-dimensional optoelectronics.

Utilizing the Instability in Weakly Supervised Object Detection

Weakly supervised object detection (WSOD) focuses on training object detector with only image-level annotations, and is challenging due to the gap between the supervision and the objective. Most of existing approaches model WSOD as a multiple instance learning (MIL) problem. However, we observe that the result of MIL based detector is unstable, i.e., the most confident bounding boxes change significantly when using different initializations. We quantitatively demonstrate the instability by introducing a metric to measure it, and empirically analyze the reason of instability. Although the instability seems harmful for detection task, we argue that it can be utilized to improve the performance by fusing the results of differently initialized detectors. To implement this idea, we propose an end-to-end framework with multiple detection branches, and introduce a simple fusion strategy. We further propose an orthogonal initialization method to increase the difference between detection branches. By utilizing the instability, we achieve 52.6% and 48.0% mAP on the challenging PASCAL VOC 2007 and 2012 datasets, which are both the new state-of-the-arts.
