The cost rate of nonlinear remote stabilization on the Aubry--André lattice: a reflected off-spectral exponent and the sharp identity for almost every phase

We study the exponential rate $r(α,λ)$ of the energy $\mathcal{E}_N$ needed to steer a far site, at distance $N$, of an Aubry--André chain $H_λ$ via one boundary actuator with closed-loop margin $α$. An exact eigenbasis reduction writes $\mathcal{E}_N$ as a Cauchy quadratic form $\tilde b^\top C^{-1}\tilde b$ in the boundary-amplitude ratios, whose rate is the off-spectral Lyapunov exponent of the transfer cocycle at the reflected band edge $z^\star=2E_{\min}-2α-E_{\max}$, giving $r(α,λ)=γ_λ(z^\star)$. The rate lies in a bracket of width $\log_+(λ/2)$ whose ends coincide for $λ\le2$, the spectrum having logarithmic capacity $\max(1,λ/2)$. We prove the identity unconditionally, for every phase, on the whole metallic--critical range $0<λ\le2$: for $λ<2$ through subcritical almost reducibility as the sole external input, and at $λ=2$ because the Green's function there equals the Lyapunov exponent. For $λ>2$ the upper bound is unconditional, and the lower bound takes localization as its only external input: an inverse-free cocycle form makes $\mathcal{E}_N$ a cancellation-free positive sum, and a Christoffel--Darboux identity collapses its coefficients to $|c_k|=Q(δ_k)(\hatψ^{(k)}_N)^2$, where band-edge near-degeneracies cancel. With a three-distance lemma this yields $r=γ_λ(z^\star)$ at every Diophantine frequency and almost every phase, with gap $O(N^{-2/(2+τ)})$ for type $τ$ ($N^{-2/3}$ at bounded type), unconditionally for $λ\geλ_1$ and under a polynomial-prefactor localization hypothesis for $2<λ<λ_1$. The relative gap $1-r/γ_λ(z^\star)$ vanishes at both ends of the localized phase, with $g_{\mathbb{C}\setminusΣ_λ}(z^\star)\to\operatorname{arccosh}3$ as $λ\to\infty$.

Boundary Cochains and the Toeplitz Index on the Half-Lattice

We study the operator algebra of a rank-one boundary defect in a semi-infinite tight-binding chain, $T=U+\varepsilon E$ on $\ell^2(\mathbb{Z}_{\ge 0})$, with $U$ the forward unilateral shift and $E=\langle e_0,\cdot\rangle e_0$. The Lie algebra $\mathcal{A}=\mathrm{span}\{U^aE(U^*)^b,\,U^n\}$ has finitely supported, trace-zero commutators, the noncommutativity confined to the boundary and vanishing on the bulk. To each site we attach a $2$-cochain $ω_j(X,Y)=\langle e_j,[X,Y]e_j\rangle$; each is a Chevalley--Eilenberg coboundary, yet $H^2(\mathcal{A},\mathbb{C})$ is infinite-dimensional, carried by the abelian bulk and classifying the central extensions. On the polynomial Toeplitz algebra obtained by adjoining $U^*$, the total cochain $\sum_{j}ω_j(T_f,T_g)$ equals the symbol pairing $\frac{1}{2πi}\oint f\,dg$, which for conjugate symbols $g=1/f$ is the Fredholm index; the $ω_j$ thus form a site-resolved index density, $ω_j(U^n,(U^*)^n)=-\mathbf{1}_{\{j<n\}}$, localized at the edge. For modulated couplings with $\varepsilon_j\to c$, the index is fixed by the bulk limit and undergoes a topological transition as $|c|$ crosses~$1$, independently of the boundary profile.

Operator-Norm Transfer and Cohomological Rigidity for Quaternionic Quasi-Lie Structures with Application to Sliding Mode $β$-Exponential Stability

We develop operator-theoretic and cohomological tools for quaternionic quasi-Lie structures, with sliding mode control as a motivating application. Three main results are established. First, an exact operator-norm transfer under the quaternionic anti-isomorphism $a \mapsto \bar{a}$, which enables quantitative bounds from~\cite{Athmouni2026} to transfer between left- and right-module conventions with no constant factor. Second, a transcription of the cohomological rigidity result of~\cite{Athmouni2026} into a form usable here: in the homogeneous case, under a local cohomological non-obstruction hypothesis, an explicit bilinear correction $Ω$ produces a bracket satisfying the Jacobi identity exactly on a ball of admissible radius, with all quantitative constants expressed through $C_{2}$ and the admissible radius. Third, the projected Jacobi defect is shown to satisfy a generalized one-sided Lipschitz condition with computable constants, obtained via a uniform-selection argument handling state-dependence of the measurable selection. As an application, we develop a robust control framework with a cohomological matching condition replacing pointwise verification: an integral sliding surface yields $β$-exponential stability via an iterative linear matrix inequality (LMI) scheme. The work is purely analytical; closed-loop numerical simulations for multidimensional systems are deferred to a companion paper. The framework is restricted to the homogeneous quasi-Lie case; the Sobolev extension is conjectural, and algorithm termination is established conditionally on sufficient continuity assumptions on the LMI solution map.

Local Lie Theory in Quasi-Banach Lie Algebras: Convergence of the BCH Series and Geometric Implications

We develop a local Lie theory for Lie algebras equipped with a quasi-norm, i.e., complete topological vector spaces satisfying a relaxed triangle inequality $\|x+y\|\le \Ctri(\|x\|+\|y\|)$ with $\Ctri\ge 1$. We prove that the Baker--Campbell--Hausdorff (BCH) series converges in a neighborhood of the origin, provided the quasi-norm admits a continuous Lie bracket with finite continuity constant $\Cbracket$. The proof relies on the Aoki--Rolewicz theorem to construct an equivalent $p$-norm satisfying $p$-subadditivity, enabling rigorous Cauchy-sequence arguments in the complete quasi-metric space $(E, d_p)$. This yields a well-defined local Lie group structure via the exponential map. We analyze the geometric deformation induced by the quasi-norm exponent $p\in(0,1]$, showing that it modifies metric properties while preserving the underlying Lie algebraic structure. Numerical estimates of BCH coefficients up to degree $20$, with coefficients defined precisely via Hall--Lyndon basis projection, demonstrate that classical combinatorial bounds are conservative in the presence of algebraic cancellations, allowing significantly larger practical convergence radii in structured algebras. Applications include weak Schatten ideals $\mathcal{L}_{p,\infty}(H)$ for $0<p<1$ and certain Hardy-space operator algebras. \smallskip\noindent\textbf{Remark on the convergence radius.} The Catalan-majorant method yields convergence for $\|x\|+\|y\| < 1/(4\Cbracket)$; the additional factor $\Ctri$ appearing in the combined constant $\Ctotal = \Ctri\Cbracket$ is an artefact of switching to the $p$-norm to establish Cauchyness of partial sums. When the quasi-norm itself is directly a $p$-norm ($\Ctri=1$), no such penalty arises and the radius reduces to $1/(4\Cbracket)$.

Explicit Baker--Campbell--Hausdorff Radii in Special Banach--Malcev Algebras of Shifts

We establish explicit convergence radii for the Baker--Campbell--Hausdorff (BCH) series in special Banach--Malcev algebras of shifts-those embeddable into a Banach alternative algebra. Under the continuity estimate $\|[x,y]\|\leq B\|x\|\|y\|$, the series converges absolutely whenever $B(\|x\|+\|y\|)<1/(4K)$, where $K\geq1$ bounds the absolute BCH coefficients. The constant $1/(4K)$ stems from a Catalan-number majorization and is sharp in the exponential-weight model. We compute $B$ explicitly for operator, exponential, polynomial, damped, and tree-like shift algebras, including the non-Lie split-octonionic (Zorn) algebra ($B=2$, $ρ=1/(8K)$). All results require the speciality assumption; the framework does not apply to general Malcev algebras. Geometrically, $ρ=1/(4KB)$ is the analyticity radius of the induced Moufang loop; numerically, it governs stability of BCH-type integrators.

Spectral and Dynamical Analysis of Fractional Discrete Laplacians on the Half-Lattice

We investigate discrete fractional Laplacians defined on the half-lattice in several dimensions, allowing possibly different fractional orders along each coordinate direction. By expressing the half-lattice operator as a boundary restriction of the full-lattice one plus a bounded correction that is relatively compact with respect to it, we show that both operators share the same essential spectrum and the same interior threshold structure. For perturbations by a decaying potential, the conjugate-operator method provides a strict Mourre estimate on any compact energy window inside the continuous spectrum, excluding threshold points. As a consequence, a localized Limiting Absorption Principle holds, ensuring the absence of singular continuous spectrum, the finiteness of eigenvalues, and weighted propagation (transport) bounds. The form-theoretic construction also extends naturally to negative fractional orders. Overall, the relative compactness of the boundary correction guarantees that the interior-energy spectral and dynamical results obtained on the full lattice remain valid on the half-lattice without modification.

Local Rigidity of Quasi--Lie Brackets on Quaternionic Banach Modules and Applications to Nonlinear PDEs

We establish a local rigidity theorem for quasi--Lie brackets on quaternionic Banach right modules. Under quantitative control of antisymmetry and Jacobi defects, we construct an explicit bilinear correction that preserves right $\mathbb{H}$--linearity and restores the exact Lie property. The approach combines a radial homotopy operator, a controlled Neumann-series inversion, and a finite-rank adjustment, all with explicit operator estimates. This constructive framework bridges quaternionic functional analysis with rigidity theory and yields concrete applications to nonlinear PDEs, including local well-posedness and Beale--Kato--Majda continuation criteria with explicit thresholds.

Interior Spectral Windows and Transport for Discrete Fractional Laplacians on $d$-Dimensional Hypercubic Lattices

We study anisotropic fractional discrete Laplacians $Δ_{\mathbb{Z}^d}^{\vec{\mathbf{r}}}$ with exponents $\vec{\mathbf{r}}\in\mathbb{R}^d\setminus\{0\}$ on $\ell^2(\mathbb{Z}^d)$. We establish a Mourre estimate on compact energy intervals away from thresholds. As consequences we derive a Limiting Absorption Principle in weighted spaces, propagation estimates (minimal velocity and local decay), and the existence and completeness of local wave operators for perturbations $H=Δ_{\mathbb{Z}^d}^{\vec{\mathbf{r}}}+W(Q)$, where $W$ is an anisotropically decaying potential of long--range type. In the stationary scattering framework we construct the on--shell scattering matrix $S(λ)$, prove the optical theorem, and, under a standard trace--class assumption on $W$, establish the Birman--Krein formula $\det S(λ)=\exp(-2πi\,ξ(λ))$.

Limiting absorption principle for long-range perturbation in a graphene setting

In this paper, we examine the discrete Laplacian acting on a hexagonal lattice by introducing long-range modifications in both the metric and the potential. Our objective is to establish a Limiting Absorption Principle, excluding possible embedded eigenvalues. To this end, we employ the positive commutator technique as our method.

We establish the various properties as well as diverse relations of the ascent and descent spectra for bounded linear operators. We specially focus on the theory of subspectrum. Furthermore, we construct a new concept of convergence for such spectra.
