Permanental vectors with nonsymmetric kernels

A permanental vector with a symmetric kernel and index $2$ is a squared Gaussian vector. The definition of permanental vectors is a natural extension of the definition of squared Gaussian vectors to nonsymmetric kernels and to positive indexes. The only known permanental vectors either have a positive definite kernel or are infinitely divisible. Are there some others? We present a partial answer to this question.

Characterization of positively correlated squared Gaussian processes

We solve a conjecture raised by Evans in 1991 on the characterization of the positively correlated squared Gaussian vectors. We extend this characterization from squared Gaussian vectors to permanental vectors. As side results, we obtain several equivalent formulations of the property of infinite divisibility for squared Gaussian processes.

Dynkin's isomorphism theorem and the stochastic heat equation

Consider the stochastic heat equation $\partial_t u = \sL u + \dot{W}$, where $\sL$ is the generator of a [Borel right] Markov process in duality. We show that the solution is locally mutually absolutely continuous with respect to a smooth perturbation of the Gaussian process that is associated, via Dynkin's isomorphism theorem, to the local times of the replica-symmetric process that corresponds to $\sL$.In the case that $\sL$ is the generator of a Lévy process on $\R^d$, our result gives a probabilistic explanation of the recent findings of Foondun et al.

On the continuity of local times of Borel right Markov processes

The problem of finding a necessary and sufficient condition for the continuity of the local times for a general Markov process is still open. Barlow and Hawkes have completely treated the case of the Lévy processes, and Marcus and Rosen have solved the case of the strongly symmetric Markov processes. We treat here the continuity of the local times of Borel right processes. Our approach unifies that of Barlow and Hawkes and of Marcus and Rosen, by using an associated Gaussian process, that appears as a limit in a CLT involving the local time process.

On Permanental Processes

Permanental processes can be viewed as a generalisation of squared centered Gaussian processes. We develop in this paper two main subjects. The first one analyses the connections of these processes with the local times of general Markov processes. The second deals with Bosonian point processes and the Bose-Einstein condensation. The obtained results in both directions are related and based on the notion of infinite divisibility.
