Wall Crossing and the Fourier-Mukai Transform for Grassmann Flops

We prove the crepant transformation conjecture for relative Grassmann flops over a smooth base $B$. We show that the $I$-functions of the respective GIT quotients are related by analytic continuation and a symplectic transformation. We verify that the symplectic transformation is compatible with Iritani's integral structure, that is, that it is induced by a Fourier-Mukai transform in $K$-theory.

Seiberg-like duality for resolutions of determinantal varieties

We study the genus-zero Gromov-Witten theory of two natural resolutions of determinantal varieties, termed the PAX and PAXY models. We realize each resolution as lying in a quiver bundle, and show that the respective quiver bundles are related by a quiver mutation. We prove that generating functions of genus-zero Gromov-Witten invariants for the two resolutions are related by a specific cluster change of variables. Along the way, we obtain a quantum Thom-Porteous formula for determinantal varieties and prove a Seiberg-like duality statement for certain quiver bundles.

Mirror Map for Landau-Ginzburg models with nonabelian groups

BHK mirror symmetry as introduced by Berglund--H\"ubsch and Marc Krawitz between Landau--Ginzburg (LG) models has been the topic of much study in recent years. An LG model is determined by a potential function and a group of symmetries. BHK mirror symmetry is only valid when the group of symmetries is comprised of the so-called diagonal symmetries. Recently, an extension to BHK mirror symmetry to include nonabelian symmetry groups has been conjectured. In this article, we provide a mirror map at the level of state spaces between the LG A-model state space and the LG B-model state space for the mirror model predicted by the BHK mirror symmetry extension for nonabelian LG models. We introduce two technical conditions, the Diagonal Scaling Condition, and the Equivariant $\Phi$ condition, under which a bi-degree preserving isomorphism of state spaces (the mirror map) is guaranteed to exist, and we prove that the condition is always satisfied if the permutation part of the group is cyclic of prime order.

On some K3 surfaces with order sixteen automorphism

We consider K3 surfaces of Picard rank 14 which admit a purely nonsymplectic automorphism of order 16. The automorphism acts on the second cohomology group with integer coefficients and we compute the invariant sublattice for the action. We show that all of these K3 surfaces admit an elliptic fibration and we compute the invariant lattices in a geometric way by using special curves of the elliptic fibration. The computation of these lattices plays an important role when one wants to study moduli spaces and mirror symmetry for lattice polarized K3 surfaces.

Mirror Symmetry for Nonabelian Landau-Ginzburg Models

We consider Landau-Ginzburg models stemming from groups comprised of non-diagonal symmetries, and we describe a rule for the mirror LG model. In particular, we present the non-abelian dual group $G^\star$, which serves as the appropriate choice of group for the mirror LG model. We also describe an explicit mirror map between the A-model and the B-model state spaces for two examples. Further, we prove that this mirror map is an isomorphism between the untwisted broad sectors and the narrow diagonal sectors for Fermat type polynomials., we prove that this mirror map is an isomorphism between the untwisted broad sectors and the narrow diagonal sectors for Fermat type polynomials.

Borcea-Voisin Mirror Symmetry for Landau-Ginzburg models

FJRW theory is a formulation of physical Landau-Ginzburg models with a rich algebraic structure, rooted in enumerative geometry. As a consequence of a major physical conjecture, called the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence, several birational morphisms of Calabi-Yau orbifolds should correspond to isomorphisms in FJRW theory. In this paper it is shown that not only does this claim prove to be the case, but is a special case of a wider FJRW isomorphism theorem, which in turn allows for a proof of mirror symmetry for a new class of cases in the Landau-Ginzburg setting. We also obtain several interesting geometric applications regarding the Chen-Ruan cohomology of certain Calabi-Yau orbifolds.

On divisorial (i) classes

In this paper we introduce and study divisorial (i) classes for the blow up of projective space in several points for i=-1,0 and 1. We generalize Noether's inequality, and we prove that all divisorial (i) classes are in bijective correspondence with the orbit of the Weyl group action on one exceptional divisor following Nagata's original approach. Moreover, we prove that the irreducibility condition from the definition of divisorial (i) classes can be replaced by the numerical condition of having positive intersection with all divisorial (-1) classes of smaller degree via the Mukai pairing.

Mirror symmetry for K3 surfaces

For certain K3 surfaces, there are two constructions of mirror symmetry that are very different. The first, known as BHK mirror symmetry, comes from the Landau-Ginzburg model for the K3 surface; the other, known as LPK3 mirror symmetry, is based on a lattice polarization of the K3 surface in the sense of Dolgachev's definition. There is a large class of K3 surfaces for which both versions of mirror symmetry apply. In this class we consider the K3 surfaces admitting a certain purely nonsymplectic automorphism of order 4, 8, or 12, and we complete the proof that these two formulations of mirror symmetry agree for this class of K3 surfaces.

When are Multiples of Polygonal Numbers again Polygonal Numbers?

Euler showed that there are infinitely many triangular numbers that are three times other triangular numbers. In general, it is an easy consequence of the Pell equation that for a given square-free m > 1, the relation P=mP' is satisfied by infinitely many pairs of triangular numbers P, P'. After recalling what is known about triangular numbers, we shall study this problem for higher polygonal numbers. Whereas there are always infinitely many triangular numbers which are fixed multiples of other triangular numbers, we give an example that this is false for higher polygonal numbers. However, as we will show, if there is one such solution, there are infinitely many. We will give conditions which conjecturally assure the existence of a solution. But due to the erratic behavior of the fundamental unit in quadratic number fields, finding such a solution is exceedingly difficult. Finally, we also show in this paper that, given m > n > 1 with obvious exceptions, the system of simultaneous relations P = mP', P = nP'' has only finitely many possibilities not just for triangular numbers, but for triplets P, P', P'' of polygonal numbers, and give examples of such solutions.

BHK mirror symmetry for K3 surfaces with non-symplectic automorphism

In this paper we consider the class of K3 surfaces defined as hypersurfaces in weighted projective space, and admitting a non-symplectic automorphism of non-prime order, excluding the orders 4, 8, and 12. We show that on these surfaces the Berglund-Hübsch-Krawitz mirror construction and mirror symmetry for lattice polarized K3 surfaces constructed by Dolgachev agree; that is, both versions of mirror symmetry define the same mirror K3 surface.

Givental-type reconstruction at a non-semisimple point

In this paper we consider the orbifold curve, which is a quotient of an elliptic curve $\mathcal{E}$ by a cyclic group of order 4. We develop a systematic way to obtain a Givental-type reconstruction of Gromov-Witten theory of the orbifold curve via the product of the Gromov-Witten theories of a point. This is done by employing mirror symmetry and certain results in FJRW theory. In particular, we present the particular Givental's action giving the CY/LG correspondence between the Gromov-Witten theory of the orbifold curve $\mathcal{E} / \mathbb{Z}_4$ and FJRW theory of the pair defined by the polynomial $x^4+y^4+z^2$ and the maximal group of diagonal symmetries. The methods we have developed can easily be applied to other finite quotients of an elliptic curve. Using Givental's action we also recover this FJRW theory via the product of the Gromov-Witten theories of a point. Combined with the CY/LG action we get a result in "pure" Gromov-Witten theory with the help of modern mirror symmetry conjectures.

A proof of the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence via the crepant transformation conjecture

We establish a new relationship (the MLK correspondence) between twisted FJRW theory and local Gromov-Witten theory in all genera. As a consequence, we show that the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence is implied by the crepant transformation conjecture for Fermat type in genus zero. We use this to then prove the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for Fermat type, generalizing the results of A. Chiodo and Y. Ruan.

A Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the mirror quintic

We prove a version of the Landau-Ginzburg/Calabi-Yau correspondence for the mirror quintic. In particular we calculate the genus-zero FJRW theory for the pair (W, G) where W is the Fermat quintic polynomial and G = SL(W). We identify it with the Gromov-Witten theory of the mirror quintic three-fold via an explicit analytic continuation and symplectic transformation. In the process we prove a mirror theorem for the corresponding Landau-Ginzburg model (W,G).

FJRW-rings and Mirror Symmetry

We verify the Landau-Ginzburg Mirror Symmetry Conjecture for Arnol'd's list of unimodal and bimodal quasi-homogeneous singularities with G the maximal diagonal symmetry group, and include a discussion of eight axioms which facilitate the computation of FJRW-rings.
