Leading-twist to higher-twist generalized parton distributions of the pseudoscalar mesons at non-zero skewness

We investigate the multidimensional partonic structure of spin-0 mesons, specifically the pion and the kaon, by evaluating their complete set of eight generalized parton distributions (GPDs) up to twist-4. Utilizing the light-front quark model (LFQM) with the Brodsky-Huang-Lepage (BHL) prescription, we compute these distributions in the kinematically rich non-zero skewness ($\xi \neq 0$) domain, strictly within the DGLAP region, $x \in [\xi, 1]$. To construct a three-dimensional tomographic picture, we perform Fourier transforms of the momentum-space GPDs to obtain the impact parameter dependent parton distribution functions (IPDPDFs) in the transverse plane and the corresponding diffraction patterns in the longitudinal coordinate space. The numerical results explicitly reveal the consequences of $\mathrm{SU}(3)$ flavor symmetry breaking, as the strange quark in the kaon dynamically shifts spatial localizations compared to the lighter up quarks. We also observe that while higher-twist correlations exhibit massive amplitude scaling in the pion, they are heavily suppressed by the larger macroscopic mass of the kaon.

Role of higher twist distributions in the tomography of proton

We have studied the higher-twist distributions of the proton, including T-even and T-odd transverse momentum-dependent parton distributions (TMDs). Under the umbrella of the light-front framework, we have chosen two distinctive approaches of quark-spectator systems for comparison, one inspired by the soft-wall AdS/QCD and another with a dipolar form factor at the nucleon-quark-diquark vertex. The comprehensive picture at higher-twist provided by both T-even and T-odd TMDs not only aids deeper insights into the internal structure of the proton in the quark sector but also provides an interpretation of different components of the energy-momentum tensor in quantum chromodynamics. Hence, using these standard parton distribution functions, further predictions regarding the physical insights of gravitational TMDs in momentum space are also provided.

Space-like Sachs electric and magnetic form factors of the baryons in the asymmetric nuclear medium

In the present work, we have studied the space-like baryon Sachs form factors in the isospin asymmetric nuclear medium using the vector meson dominance (VMD) model. The in-medium effects are incorporated through the medium-modified masses of vector mesons which are calculated using the QCD sum rule approach taking density dependent scalar quark and gluon condensates as inputs from chiral SU(3) quark mean field (CQMF) model. The effective magnetic moments of the baryons are also calculated in the CQMF model. In the framework of VMD model, the photon couples to the nucleons through intermediary vector mesons with the same quantum number as that of a photon. This coupling leads to the relation of isoscalar and isovector Dirac and Pauli form factors which are then used to calculate the Sachs electric and magnetic form factors, which provide physically measurable quantities that represent the electric and magnetic distributions of the baryons. The present work aims to study the effects of asymmetric nuclear matter at finite temperature on the Sachs form factors of baryons in the space-like region. The electric and magnetic charge radii have also been calculated for the baryons in free space and dense asymmetric nuclear matter. The results obtained have been compared with other available phenomenological models, lattice simulations, and experimental data.

Mechanical properties of proton in the momentum space

We study the parametrization of the energy-momentum tensor for the case of a proton in momentum space in terms of gravitational transverse momentum-dependent distributions (TMDs). These gravitational TMDs are investigated with the inclusion of higher-twist contributions to predict the mechanical properties, specifically the transverse pressure and shear force distributions, along with the polarization-dependent $\Pi^q_S$ and $\Pi^q_A$ terms. The corresponding distributions are computed individually for both $u$ and $d$ quark flavors. The calculations have been performed in the light-cone framework using the spectator diquark model. A strong binding contribution to the transverse pressure is observed in the low-momentum space for both quark flavors of the proton.

Chiral-odd generalized parton distributions of spin-1/2 baryons

We present the tomographical structure of baryons by studying the nonforward matrix elements of lightlike correlation functions of the tensor current. At the leading twist, with the tensor current, four chiral-odd distributions are in count. We calculate these distributions in a diquark spectator model with light-front formalism by considering purely transverse momentum transfer, i.e., zero skewness. Predictions for the nucleons and light hyperons are studied, emphasizing the difference arising from their different quark flavors.

Gravitational form factors of baryons in a spectator diquark model

Energy momentum tensor (EMT) expresses the interaction between the gravitation and the matter fields, in which the scattering off the graviton is a natural but infeasible probe. However, the EMT can be accessed indirectly through electromagnetic interactions in quantum chromodynamics. The matrix elements of the local EMT operator are parameterized by gravitational form factors, which are subsequently related to the generalized parton distributions. Within the diquark spectator model, we investigate the gravitational form factors of baryons. We consider all the feasible pairs of quark-diquark systems to understand the behavior of each constituent quark flavor of strange and non-strange baryons.

Kaon structure modifications in strange hadronic matter

We present the valence quark distributions of the kaons in an isospin asymmetric dense strange medium consisting of nucleons and hyperons. The comparative analysis of in-medium parton distribution functions, electromagnetic form factors, and charge densities with respect to the free space distributions is studied in the light-cone quark model. The medium effects are incorporated in these distribution functions by using the effective quark masses, computed from the chiral SU(3) quark mean field model for finite values of baryonic density, isospin asymmetry, and strangeness fraction parameters. We observe a suppression of the kaon electromagnetic form factors and a redistribution of charge density in high-density strange matter.

$D$ and $D^*$ mesons in isospin asymmetric nuclear medium

We investigate the properties of pseudoscalar $D$ and vector $D^*$ mesons in an isospin asymmetric nuclear medium using a hybrid approach that integrates the light-front quark model with the chiral SU(3) quark mean field model. The influence of isospin asymmetric nuclear medium is examined by utilizing the in-medium quark masses derived from the chiral SU(3) quark mean field model as an input in the light-front quark model to study the medium modification of $D$ mesons. We examine the impact of isospin asymmetry and baryon density at zero and finite temperature on the effective masses, weak decay constants, and distribution amplitudes of the pseudoscalar mesons $D^0$, $D^+$, $D_s$, and the vector mesons $D^{0*}$, $D^{+*}$, and $D_s^*$. Our results indicate significant medium-induced changes for pseudoscalar $D$ and vector $D^*$ mesons having $u/d$ as one of their constituent quarks, while a comparatively reduced effect is observed for mesons containing a strange quark. In contrast to temperature and isospin asymmetry, changes in the baryon density of the nuclear medium have a larger effect on different properties of $D$ and $D^*$ mesons.

Chiral-odd generalized parton distributions for the low-lying octet baryons

We have studied the chiral-odd generalized parton distributions (GPDs) for the octet baryons within the framework of diquark spectator model, emphasizing the difference arising from different quark flavors of $p$, $\Sigma^+$ and $\Xi^o$. The quark-quark correlator for the tensor current has been solved to investigate the transversely polarized quark dynamics using light-cone wave functions. In the forward limit, transversity distributions of all the constituent quark flavors of $p$, $\Sigma^+$, and $\Xi^o$ have been studied. Additionally, the lowest moment of GPD $H_T$ and the combination of GPDs $E_T$ and $\tilde{H}_T$ have also been investigated. Our results are comparable with other available model predictions and lattice data for the case of $p$. Furthermore, we have presented a comparative analysis of tensor charges and anomalous tensor magnetic moments for all the constituent quark flavors of the considered baryons, comparing them with available data obtained from different approaches.

Valence quark properties of charged kaons in symmetric nuclear matter

We calculate the leading twist valence quark transverse momentum parton distribution functions (TMDs) and generalized parton distributions (GPDs) of the charged kaons in an isospin symmetric nuclear matter at zero temperature by employing the light-cone quark model. The medium modifications of the unpolarized TMDs and GPDs have been carried out by taking inputs from the chiral SU($3$) quark mean field model. The electromagnetic form factors (EMFFs) and charge radii have been calculated from the unpolarized GPDs for both the vacuum and in-medium cases. We have also calculated the variation of average transverse and longitudinal momenta for the active quark at high baryonic density. These results are found to be in good agreement with the available experimental data as well as with other model predictions.

Impact of isospin asymmetric nuclear medium on pseudoscalar and vector $B$ mesons

In this study, using the light-front quark model, we examine how an isospin asymmetric nuclear medium affects the properties of pseudoscalar ($B^+, B^0$) and vector ($B^{\ast+}, B^{\ast0}$) mesons under different temperature values and degrees of isospin asymmetry. To simulate the in-medium modifications of the constituent quark masses, we employ the chiral SU(3) quark mean field model. Our analysis focuses on evaluating the effective masses, weak decay constants, and distribution amplitudes (DAs) of $B$ mesons in isospin-asymmetric nuclear matter. The calculated vacuum values of the $B$ meson masses and decay constants show good agreement with existing experimental data, validating our approach to study the medium effects within the same framework.

Single spin asymmetry among hyperons using scalar diquark model

The Fourier transformed chiral even generalized parton distributions $(GPDs)$ for purely transverse momentum transfer $(\Delta^+=0)$ characterize an individual parton distribution of a hyperon in a perpendicular plane at some distance from the center of momentum of the system. Further, the presence of left-right asymmetry in the distorted parton distribution gives a clue for the presence of single-spin asymmetry. In order to have a deep insight into the distortions, we have exhibited the information about asymmetries from the spin flip matrix element of a $GPD$ for hyperons by employing scalar diquark model and also compared parton distributions of different possible combinations of quark-diquark pair to get substantial structural information on hyperons.

Effect of nuclear medium on the spatial distribution of pions

We calculate the valence quark generalized parton distributions (GPDs) of the lightest pseudoscalar meson, pion, in an isospin asymmetric nuclear matter at zero temperature by employing a light-cone quark model. The medium modifications in the unpolarized GPDs have been incorporated by taking inputs from the chiral SU($3$) quark mean field model. The electromagnetic form factors (EMFFs) and charge radii have been calculated for both the vacuum and in-medium cases. These results are found to be in agreement with the available experimental data and other model predictions.

Federated Learning for Discrete Optimal Transport with Large Population under Incomplete Information

Optimal transport is a powerful framework for the efficient allocation of resources between sources and targets. However, traditional models often struggle to scale effectively in the presence of large and heterogeneous populations. In this work, we introduce a discrete optimal transport framework designed to handle large-scale, heterogeneous target populations, characterized by type distributions. We address two scenarios: one where the type distribution of targets is known, and one where it is unknown. For the known distribution, we propose a fully distributed algorithm to achieve optimal resource allocation. In the case of unknown distribution, we develop a federated learning-based approach that enables efficient computation of the optimal transport scheme while preserving privacy. Case studies are provided to evaluate the performance of our learning algorithm.

Effect of Asymmetric Nuclear Medium on the Valence Quark Structure of the Kaons

The role of asymmetric nuclear medium on the properties of kaon is investigated at zero and finite temperature employing a hybrid approach integrating the light cone quark model (LCQM) and the chiral SU(3) quark mean field (CQMF) model. The in-medium quark masses are calculated within the CQMF model and are used as inputs to study the medium modifications in the kaon properties. In particular, we have analysed the impact of baryonic density, isospin asymmetry and temperature on the weak decay constant, distribution amplitudes (DAs) and parton quark distributions (PDFs) of valence quark structure of kaons. The effects of isospin asymmetry on the kaon doublet $K =\left(\begin{array}{c} K^{+} \\ K^{0} \end{array} \right)$ and antikaon doublet $\bar{K}$= ($K^-, \bar{K}^0$) are also studied. In order to compare with future experiments, we have also evolved the in-medium DAs and PDFs of kaons to $Q^2=16$ GeV$^2$. As compared to the temperature and isospin asymmetry, change in baryonic density of the nuclear medium makes more significant changes to the DAs and PDFs of kaons.

Transverse and spatial structure of light to heavy pseudoscalar mesons in light-cone quark model

In this work, we have investigated the transverse and spatial structure of light ($\pi^+ (u\bar d)$, $K^+(u\bar s)$) and heavy ($\eta_c(c\bar c)$, $\eta_b (b\bar b)$, $B$ and $D$) pseudoscalar mesons using the light-cone quark model. The transverse structure of these particles have been studied using the transverse momentum dependent parton distribution (TMDs). The leading twist unpolarized $f_1(x, \mathbf{k}_\perp^2)$ TMD has been solved using the quark-quark correlator. We have predicted the average momenta carried by the quark and antiquark of the considered mesons. For a complete description of mesons, we have also computed the leading twist unpolarized $H(x,0,-t)$ generalized parton distribution (GPD). Further, electromagnetic form factors (EMFFs), along with gravitational form factors (GFFs) have been derived by taking the zeroth and first moments of the unpolarized GPD. These EMFFs are found to be compatible with available lattice simulation results. Further, we have also calculated the parton distribution functions (PDFs) for both the quarks and the antiquarks of these mesons. The PDF sum rule has also been verified.

Does nuclear medium affect the transverse momentum-dependent parton distributions of valence quark of pions?

We calculate the valence quark transverse momentum-dependent parton distributions (TMDs) of the lightest pseudoscalar meson, pions, in isospin asymmetric nuclear matter at zero temperature by employing a light-cone quark model. The medium modifications in the pion unpolarized TMDs are induced through the effective quark masses computed using the chiral SU($3$) quark mean field model. The spin densities at different momentum fraction ($x$) have also been calculated at different baryonic densities.

Generalized parton distributions for low-lying octet baryons with non-zero skewness

We have performed the structural analysis of low-lying octet baryon members by assuming charge-isospin symmetry among quark flavors in transverse and longitudinal space. Using the light-cone spectator diquark model, we have investigated the electromagnetic form factors of the octet baryons and have compared them with the available data. Model scale has been estimated by comparing the valence $u$ quark's parton distribution function (PDF) of proton with the result of CTEQ5L parameterization. A comparative analysis of PDFs and generalized parton distributions (GPDs) for non-zero skewness among octet baryons has also been demonstrated. Fourier transform of the deeply virtual Compton scattering amplitude with respect to skewness has been further applied to study the diffraction patterns in the boost-invariant longitudinal position space.
