CWebGen -- A tool to study colour structure of scattering amplitudes in IR limit

Infrared singularities in perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) are captured by the Soft function, which can be calculated efficiently using Feynman diagrams known as webs. The starting point for calculating Soft function using webs is to compute the web mixing matrices using a well known replica trick algorithm. We present a package implemented in Mathematica to calculate these mixing matrices. Along with the package, we provide several state-of-the art computations.

Correlator webs of massive multiparton amplitudes at four loops: A study of boomerang webs

Logarithm of the soft function can be organized into sets of Feynman diagrams known as Cwebs. We introduced a new formalism in~\cite{Agarwal:2022wyk}, that allows to determine several of the building blocks of Cweb mixing matrices without explicit computations. In~\cite{Agarwal:2022xec} we used this formalism to obtain the diagonal blocks of four general classes of Cwebs to all orders in perturbation theory which also covered all the four loop Boomerang Cwebs connecting four Wilson lines. In this work we present complete mixing matrices and exponentiated colour factors for Boomerang Cwebs at four loops that connect three and four Wilson lines. Also, we present a more efficient version of the algorithm of generating Cwebs that was presented in~\cite{Agarwal:2020nyc}. This new algorithm has been used to generate the Cwebs in the present work.

Next-to-leading power corrections to the event shape variables

We investigate the origin of next-to-leading power corrections to the event shapes thrust and $c$-parameter, at next-to-leading order. For both event shapes we trace the origin of such terms in the exact calculation, and compare with a recent approach involving the eikonal approximation and momentum shifts that follow from the Low-Burnett-Kroll-Del Duca theorem. We assess the differences both analytically and numerically. For the $c$-parameter both exact and approximate results are expressed in terms of elliptic integrals, but near the elastic limit it exhibits patterns similar to the thrust results.

Deciphering Colour Building Blocks of Massive Multiparton Amplitudes at 4-loops and beyond

The soft function in non-abelian gauge theories exponentiate, and their logarithms can be organised in terms of the collections of Feynman diagrams called Cwebs. The colour factors that appear in the logarithm are controlled by the web mixing matrices. Direct construction of the diagonal blocks of Cwebs using the new concepts of Normal ordering, basis Cweb and Fused-Web was recently carried out in~\cite{Agarwal:2022wyk}. In this article we establish correspondence between the boomerang webs introduced in ~\cite{Gardi:2021gzz} and non-boomerang Cwebs. We use this correspondence together with Uniqueness theorem and Fused web formalism introduced in ~\cite{Agarwal:2022wyk} to obtain the diagonal blocks of four general classes of Cwebs to all orders in perturbation theory which also cover all the four loop Boomerang Cwebs connecting four Wilson lines. We also fully construct the mixing matrix of a special Cweb to all orders in perturbation theory.

Building blocks of Cwebs in multiparton scattering amplitudes

The correlators of Wilson-line operators in non-abelian gauge theories are known to exponentiate, and their logarithms can be organised in terms of the collections of Feynman diagrams called Cwebs. The colour factors that appear in the logarithm correspond to completely connected diagrams and are determined by the web mixing matrices. In this article we introduce several new concepts: (a) Normal ordering of the diagrams of a Cweb, (b) Fused-Webs (c) Basis and Family of Cwebs. We use these ideas together with a Uniqueness theorem that we prove to arrive at an understanding of the diagonal blocks, and several null matrices that appear in the mixing matrices. We demonstrate using our formalism that, once the basis Cwebs present upto order $α_{s}^{n}$ are determined, the number of exponentiated colour factors for several classes of Cwebs starting at order $α_{s}^{n+1}$ can be predicted. We further provide complete results for the mixing matrices, to all orders in perturbation theory, for two special classes of Cwebs using our framework.

The Infrared Structure of Perturbative Gauge Theories

Infrared divergences in the perturbative expansion of gauge theory amplitudes and cross sections have been a focus of theoretical investigations for almost a century. New insights still continue to emerge, as higher perturbative orders are explored, and high-precision phenomenological applications demand an ever more refined understanding. This review aims to provide a pedagogical overview of the subject. We briefly cover some of the early historical results, we provide some simple examples of low-order applications in the context of perturbative QCD, and discuss the necessary tools to extend these results to all perturbative orders. Finally, we describe recent developments concerning the calculation of soft anomalous dimensions in multi-particle scattering amplitudes at high orders, and we provide a brief introduction to the very active field of infrared subtraction for the calculation of differential distributions at colliders.

Power corrections to event shapes using eikonal dressed gluon exponentiation

Event shapes are classical tools for the determination of the strong coupling and for the study of hadronization effects in electron-positron annihilation. In the context of analytical studies, hadronization corrections take the form of power-suppressed contributions to the cross-section, which can be extracted from the perturbative ambiguity of Borel-resummed distributions. We propose a simplified version of the well-established method of Dressed Gluon Exponentiation (DGE), which we call Eikonal DGE (EDGE), which determines all dominant power corrections to event shapes by means of strikingly elementary calculations. We believe our method can be generalized to hadronic event shapes and jet shapes of relevance for LHC physics.

Cwebs beyond three loops in multiparton amplitudes

Correlators of Wilson-line operators in non-abelian gauge theories are known to exponentiate, and their logarithms can be organised in terms of collections of Feynman diagrams called webs. In [1] we introduced the concept of Cweb, or correlator web, which is a set of skeleton diagrams built with connected gluon correlators, and we computed the mixing matrices for all Cwebs connecting four or five Wilson lines at four loops. Here we complete the evaluation of four-loop mixing matrices, presenting the results for all Cwebs connecting two and three Wilson lines. We observe that the conjuctured column sum rule is obeyed by all the mixing matrices that appear at four-loops. We also show how low-dimensional mixing matrices can be uniquely determined from their known combinatorial properties, and provide some all-order results for selected classes of mixing matrices. Our results complete the required colour building blocks for the calculation of the soft anomalous dimension matrix at four-loop order.

Multiparton webs beyond three loops

Correlators of Wilson-line operators are fundamental ingredients for the study of the infrared properties of non-abelian gauge theories. In perturbation theory, they are known to exponentiate, and their logarithm can be organised in terms of collections of Feynman diagrams called webs. We study the classification of webs to high perturbative orders, proposing a set of tools to generate them recursively: in particular, we introduce the concept of Cweb, or correlator web, which is a set of skeleton diagrams built with connected gluon correlators, instead of individual Feynman diagrams. As an application, we enumerate all Cwebs entering the soft anomalous dimension matrix for multi-parton scattering amplitudes at four loops, and we compute the mixing matrices for all Cwebs connecting four or five Wilson lines at that loop order, verifying that they obey sum rules that were derived or conjectured in the literature. Our results provide the colour building blocks for the calculation of the soft anomalous dimension matrix at four-loop order.

Resummed transverse momentum distribution of pseudo-scalar Higgs boson at NNLO$_A$+NNLL

In this article we have studied the transverse momentum distribution of the pseudo-scalar Higgs boson at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The small $\pt$ region which provides the bulk of the cross section is not accessible to fixed order perturbation theory due to the presence of large logarithms in the series. Using the universal infrared behaviour of the QCD we resum these large logarithms up to next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy. We observe a significant reduction in theoretical uncertainties due to the unphysical scales at NNLL level compared to the previous order. We present the $p_T$ distribution matched to NNLO$_A$+NNLL, valid for the whole $p_T$ region and provide a detailed phenomenological study in the context of both 14 TeV and 13 TeV LHC using different choices of masses, scales and parton distribution functions which will be useful for the search of such particle at the LHC in near future.

$W^+W^-$ production in Large extra dimension model at next-to-leading order in QCD at the LHC

We present next-to-leading order QCD corrections to production of two $W$ bosons in hadronic collisions in the extra dimension ADD model. Various kinematical distributions are obtained to order $α_s$ in QCD by taking into account all the parton level subprocesses. We estimate the impact of the QCD corrections on various observables and find that they are significant. We also show the reduction in factorization scale uncertainty when ${\cal O}(α_s)$ effects are included.

Di-jet production at the LHC through unparticles

We report the phenomenological impact of unparticles in the production of di-jet at the LHC. We compute the scalar, spin-1 and spin-2 unparticle contributions to the dijet cross sections and present our results in different kinematical distributions. We find that the scalar unparticle contribution is dominant over that of the spin-1 and spin-2 unparticles for the same coupling values.
