The Morel-Voevodsky Construction over Algebraic Stacks

In this article, we give a construction of the (un-)stable motivic homotopy category of an algebraic stack in the spirit of Morel-Voevodsky. We prove that this new construction agrees with the stable motivic homotopy category defined by Chowdhury and D'Angelo. As an application, we extend Bachmann's spectral rigidity theorem to algebraic stacks. Moreover, we extend the construction of the framed motivic homotopy category to algebraic stacks and prove Hoyois' Reconstruction Theorem in this setting. Finally, we discuss an extension of the formalism of cocomplete coefficient systems à la Drew-Gallauer to algebraic stacks.

A Motivic Riemann-Roch Theorem for Deligne-Mumford Stacks

We develop a motivic cohomology theory, representable in the Voevodsky's triangulated category of motives, for smooth separated Deligne-Mumford stacks and show that the resulting higher Chow groups are canonically isomorphic to the higher $K$-theory of such stacks. This generalises the Grothendieck-Riemann-Roch theorem to the category of smooth Deligne-Mumford stacks.

$\mathbb{A}^1$-connected stacky curves and the Brauer group of moduli of elliptic curves

Given a smooth scheme X with an action by an affine algebraic group G, we give a formula to compute the Nisnevich sheaf of the motivic connected components of the quotient stack [X/G] in the case of an orbifold. We apply it to identify all the $\mathbb{A}^1$-connected stacky curves and prove the $\mathbb{A}^1$ -connectedness of the moduli stack of elliptic curves. We also prove homotopy purity for the smooth algebraic stacks and recover a computation of the Picard group of stacky orbifold curves by computing their mixed motive.

On the Motivic Homotopy Type of Algebraic Stacks

We construct smooth presentations of algebraic stacks that are local epimorphisms in the Morel-Voevodsky $\mathbb{A}^1$-homotopy category. As a consequence we show that the motive of a smooth stack (in Voevodsky's triangulated category of motives) has many of the same properties as the motive of a smooth scheme.

Nisnevich local Good compactifications

For a local complete intersection morphism, we establish fiberwise denseness in the $n$-dimensional irreducible components of the compactification Nisnevich locally.

The Nisnevich Motive of an Algebraic Stack

We construct the motive of an algebraic stack in the Nisnevich topology. For stacks which are Nisnevich locally quotient stacks, we give a presentation of the motive in terms of simplicial schemes. We also show that for quotient stacks the motivic cohomology agrees with the Edidin-Graham-Totaro Chow groups with integer coefficients.

Grothendieck-Serre Conjecture for Quasi-split Reductive Groups

We prove the Grothendieck-Serre conjecture for quasi-split reductive groups schemes. Our method involves reducing to the Borel subgroup in order to conclude the result from purity for tori and the structure theorem for unipotent radicals of parabolic subgroups in a reductive group.

Quasi-affineness and the 1-Resolution Property

We prove that, under mild hypothesis, every normal algebraic space which satisfies the $1$-resolution property is quasi-affine. More generally, we show that for algebraic stacks satisfying similar hypotheses, the 1-resolution property guarantees the existence of a finite flat cover by a quasi-affine scheme.
