ELR-1000: A Community-Generated Dataset for Endangered Indic Indigenous Languages

We present a culturally-grounded multimodal dataset of 1,060 traditional recipes crowdsourced from rural communities across remote regions of Eastern India, spanning 10 endangered languages. These recipes, rich in linguistic and cultural nuance, were collected using a mobile interface designed for contributors with low digital literacy. Endangered Language Recipes (ELR)-1000 -- captures not only culinary practices but also the socio-cultural context embedded in indigenous food traditions. We evaluate the performance of several state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs) on translating these recipes into English and find the following: despite the models' capabilities, they struggle with low-resource, culturally-specific language. However, we observe that providing targeted context -- including background information about the languages, translation examples, and guidelines for cultural preservation -- leads to significant improvements in translation quality. Our results underscore the need for benchmarks that cater to underrepresented languages and domains to advance equitable and culturally-aware language technologies. As part of this work, we release the ELR-1000 dataset to the NLP community, hoping it motivates the development of language technologies for endangered languages.

What's Not on the Plate? Rethinking Food Computing through Indigenous Indian Datasets

This paper presents a multimodal dataset of 1,000 indigenous recipes from remote regions of India, collected through a participatory model involving first-time digital workers from rural areas. The project covers ten endangered language communities in six states. Documented using a dedicated mobile app, the data set includes text, images, and audio, capturing traditional food practices along with their ecological and cultural contexts. This initiative addresses gaps in food computing, such as the lack of culturally inclusive, multimodal, and community-authored data. By documenting food as it is practiced rather than prescribed, this work advances inclusive, ethical, and scalable approaches to AI-driven food systems and opens new directions in cultural AI, public health, and sustainable agriculture.

The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: DR6 Maps

We present Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) Data Release 6 (DR6) maps of the Cosmic Microwave Background temperature and polarization anisotropy at arcminute resolution over three frequency bands centered on 98, 150 and 220 GHz. The maps are based on data collected with the AdvancedACT camera over the period 2017--2022 and cover 19,000 square degrees with a median combined depth of 10 uK arcmin. We describe the instrument, mapmaking and map properties and illustrate them with a number of figures and tables. The ACT DR6 maps and derived products are available on LAMBDA at https://lambda.gsfc.nasa.gov/product/act/actadv_prod_table.html. The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: DR6 Power Spectra, Likelihoods and $\Lambda$CDM Parameters

We present power spectra of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) anisotropy in temperature and polarization, measured from the Data Release 6 maps made from Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) data. These cover 19,000 deg$^2$ of sky in bands centered at 98, 150 and 220 GHz, with white noise levels three times lower than Planck in polarization. We find that the ACT angular power spectra estimated over 10,000 deg$^2$, and measured to arcminute scales in TT, TE and EE, are well fit by the sum of CMB and foregrounds, where the CMB spectra are described by the $\Lambda$CDM model. Combining ACT with larger-scale Planck data, the joint P-ACT dataset provides tight limits on the ingredients, expansion rate, and initial conditions of the universe. We find similar constraining power, and consistent results, from either the Planck power spectra or from ACT combined with WMAP data, as well as from either temperature or polarization in the joint P-ACT dataset. When combined with CMB lensing from ACT and Planck, and baryon acoustic oscillation data from DESI DR1, we measure a baryon density of $\Omega_b h^2=0.0226\pm0.0001$, a cold dark matter density of $\Omega_c h^2=0.118\pm0.001$, a Hubble constant of $H_0=68.22\pm0.36$ km/s/Mpc, a spectral index of $n_s=0.974\pm0.003$, and an amplitude of density fluctuations of $\sigma_8=0.813\pm0.005$. Including the DESI DR2 data tightens the Hubble constant to $H_0=68.43\pm0.27$ km/s/Mpc; $\Lambda$CDM parameters agree between the P-ACT and DESI DR2 data at the $1.6\sigma$ level. We find no evidence for excess lensing in the power spectrum, and no departure from spatial flatness. The contribution from Sunyaev-Zel'dovich (SZ) anisotropy is detected at high significance; we find evidence for a tilt with suppressed small-scale power compared to our baseline SZ template spectrum, consistent with hydrodynamical simulations with feedback.

The Atacama Cosmology Telescope: DR6 Constraints on Extended Cosmological Models

We use new cosmic microwave background (CMB) primary temperature and polarization anisotropy measurements from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) Data Release 6 (DR6) to test foundational assumptions of the standard cosmological model and set constraints on extensions to it. We derive constraints from the ACT DR6 power spectra alone, as well as in combination with legacy data from Planck. To break geometric degeneracies, we include ACT and Planck CMB lensing data and baryon acoustic oscillation data from DESI Year-1, and further add supernovae measurements from Pantheon+ for models that affect the late-time expansion history. We verify the near-scale-invariance (running of the spectral index $d n_s/d\ln k = 0.0062 \pm 0.0052$) and adiabaticity of the primordial perturbations. Neutrino properties are consistent with Standard Model predictions: we find no evidence for new light, relativistic species that are free-streaming ($N_{\rm eff} = 2.86 \pm 0.13$, which combined with external BBN data becomes $N_{\rm eff} = 2.89 \pm 0.11$), for non-zero neutrino masses ($\sum m_\nu < 0.082$ eV at 95% CL), or for neutrino self-interactions. We also find no evidence for self-interacting dark radiation ($N_{\rm idr} < 0.134$), early-universe variation of fundamental constants, early dark energy, primordial magnetic fields, or modified recombination. Our data are consistent with standard BBN, the FIRAS-inferred CMB temperature, a dark matter component that is collisionless and with only a small fraction allowed as axion-like particles, a cosmological constant, and the late-time growth rate predicted by general relativity. We find no statistically significant preference for a departure from the baseline $\Lambda$CDM model. In general, models introduced to increase the Hubble constant or to decrease the amplitude of density fluctuations inferred from the primary CMB are not favored by our data.

Fusions of the Tensor Square of a Strongly Regular Graph

In this paper we determine all fusions of the association scheme $\mathcal{A} \otimes \mathcal{A}$, where $\mathcal{A}$ is the symmetric rank $3$ association scheme corresponding to a strongly regular graph. This includes both guaranteed fusions, which are fusions for all symmetric rank $3$ association schemes $\mathcal{A}$, and specific case fusions, which only exist under restrictions on the parameters of the association scheme. Along the way we will determine the fusions of wreath products of strongly regular graphs and the fusions of the tensor square of a symmetric rank $3$ table algebra. This extends recent work of the authors and Meagher, which solved the same problem for the generalized Hamming scheme $H(2,\mathcal{A})$ of the association scheme obtained from a strongly regular graph. The main results of this article show (1) the families of strongly regular graphs for which $\mathcal{A} \otimes \mathcal{A}$ has a special case fusion are the same families for which $H(2,\mathcal{A})$ has a special case fusion; and (2) the imprimitive strongly regular graphs are the only family of strongly regular graphs for which the wreath product $\mathcal{A} \wr \mathcal{A}$ has a special case fusion.

The $q$-Analogue of Zero Forcing for Certain Families of Graphs

Zero forcing is a combinatorial game played on a graph with the ultimate goal of changing the colour of all the vertices at minimal cost. Originally this game was conceived as a one player game, but later a two-player version was devised in-conjunction with studies on the inertia of a graph, and has become known as the $q$-analogue of zero forcing. In this paper, we study and compute the $q$-analogue zero forcing number for various families of graphs. We begin with by considering a concept of contraction associated with trees. We then significantly generalize an equation between this $q$-analogue of zero forcing and a corresponding nullity parameter for all threshold graphs. We close by studying the $q$-analogue of zero forcing for certain Kneser graphs, and a variety of cartesian products of structured graphs.

Fusions of the generalized Hamming scheme on a strongly-regular graph

In this paper we show that for any fusion $\mathcal{B}$ of an association scheme $\mathcal{A}$, the generalized Hamming scheme $H(n,\mathcal{B})$ is a nontrivial fusion of $H(n,\mathcal{A})$. We analyze the case where $\mathcal{A}$ is the association scheme on a strongly-regular graph, and determine the parameters of all strongly-regular graphs for which the generalized Hamming scheme, $H(2,\mathcal{A})$, has extra fusions, in addition to the one arising from the trivial fusion of $\mathcal{A}$.

A Quantitative Study of the Impact of Social Media Reviews on Brand Perception

This thesis can be categorized under the Influencer Marketing industry with respect to social media initiatives. Influencer marketing is a modern tactic used by brands to enhance their visibility to their target audience by using the services of influential people. The objective of this thesis is to quantify the impact of social media reviews on brand perception. Specifically, this thesis focuses on two diverse media platforms commonly used for sharing opinions about products or services by publishing audio-visual or textual reviews: YouTube and Yelp. First, we quantitatively analyze the impact of YouTube reviews of Smartphones on the audience through their response to these video reviews. Second, using our findings from 942 YouTube Smartphone reviews, we introduce a statistical model to predict audience engagement on a given video. Finally, we apply our method of quantifying the impact of reviews on the content published on Yelp.com in the restaurant industry. The results from this validation show that our method can be generically applied to other social media platforms and consumer-focused industries. Our method can be employed by brand managers to turn social media reviews into real-time feedback mechanism in order to improve brand perception in the minds of their target audience.
