Statistical Non-linear Reconstruction Loss for Image Anomaly Detection

Reconstruction-based methods are a cornerstone of unsupervised image anomaly detection, but they remain vulnerable to \emph{outlier leakage}, where standard mean squared error (MSE) loss drives the model to faithfully reconstruct anomalous patterns. We propose a Non-linear Reconstruction Loss that applies a sigmoid-based squashing function to suppress high-magnitude features, preventing outliers from dominating optimization while preserving sensitivity to normal patterns. In addition, we introduce a statistical calibration scheme that selects the scaling factor $k$ from the confidence interval (CI) of the normal feature distribution, enabling data-driven control of the suppression strength. Our approach achieves competitive or superior anomaly detection performance compared to state-of-the-art methods, reaching 99.0\% Image-AUROC and 97.3\% Pixel-AUROC on MVTec-AD, and 95.3\% Image-AUROC and 99.0\% Pixel-AUROC on VisA. These results indicate that non-linear gradient suppression is an effective mechanism for mitigating outlier leakage and improving anomaly localization in unified industrial inspection settings. On some Sobolev and Pólya-Szegö type inequalities with weights and applications

We are motivated by studying a boundary-value problem for a class of semilinear degenerate elliptic equations \begin{align}\tag{P}\label{P} \begin{cases} - Δ_x u - |x|^{2α} \dfrac{\partial^2 u}{\partial y^2} = f(x,y,u) & \textrm{in } Ω, u = 0 & \textrm{on } \partial Ω, \end{cases} \end{align} where $x = (x_1, x_2) \in \mathbb{R}^2$, $Ω$ is a bounded smooth domain in $\mathbb{R}^3$, $(0,0,0) \in Ω$, and $α> 0$. In this paper, we will study this problem by establishing embedding theorems for weighted Sobolev spaces. To this end, we need a new Pólya-Szegö type inequality, which can be obtained by studying an isoperimetric problem for the corresponding weighted area. Our results then extend the existing ones in \cite{nga, Luyen2} to the three-dimensional context.

An Efficient Approach for Machine Translation on Low-resource Languages: A Case Study in Vietnamese-Chinese

Despite the rise of recent neural networks in machine translation, those networks do not work well if the training data is insufficient. In this paper, we proposed an approach for machine translation in low-resource languages such as Vietnamese-Chinese. Our proposed method leveraged the power of the multilingual pre-trained language model (mBART) and both Vietnamese and Chinese monolingual corpus. Firstly, we built an early bird machine translation model using the bilingual training dataset. Secondly, we used TF-IDF technique to select sentences from the monolingual corpus which are the most related to domains of the parallel dataset. Finally, the first model was used to synthesize the augmented training data from the selected monolingual corpus for the translation model. Our proposed scheme showed that it outperformed 8% compared to the transformer model. The augmented dataset also pushed the model performance.

Effective Route Scheme of Multicast Probing to Locate High-loss Links in OpenFlow Networks

With the prevalence of cloud computing and contents delivery networking, OpenFlow-based centrally-managed networks with flexible and dynamic traffic engineering are demanded. To maintain a high quality of service of the network, detecting and locating high-loss links is essential. Therefore, in this paper, a measurement framework is proposed to promptly locate all high-loss links with a minimized load on both data-plane and control-plane incurred by the measurement, which assumes only standard OpenFlow functions. It combines an active measurement by probing multicast packets along a designed route and a passive measurement by collecting flow-stats of the probing flow at selected switch ports in an appropriate sequential order to access switches. In particular, by designing the measurement route based on the backbone-and-branch tree (BBT) route scheme, the measurement accuracy and the measurement overhead (i.e., the number of accesses to switches until locating all high-loss links) can be balanced. The numerical simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of our proposal.

Cohomological dimensions of specialization-closed subsets and subcategories of modules

Let R be a commutative noetherian ring. In this paper, we study specialization-closed subsets of Spec R. More precisely, we first characterize the specialization-closed subsets in terms of various closure properties of subcategories of modules. Then, for each nonnegative integer n we introduce the notion of n-wide subcategories of R-modules to consider the question asking when a given specialization-closed subset has cohomological dimension at most n.

Some Applications of Lie Groups in Theory of Technical Progress

In recent decades, we have known some interesting applications of Lie theory in the theory of technological progress. Firstly, we will discuss some results of R. Saito in \cite{rS1980} and \cite{rS1981} about the application modeling of Lie groups in the theory of technical progress. Next, we will describe the result on Romanian economy of G. Zaman and Z. Goschin in \cite{ZG2010}. Finally, by using Sato's results and applying the method of G. Zaman and Z. Goschin, we give an estimation of the GDP function of Viet Nam for the 1995-2018 period and give several important observations about the impact of technical progress on economic growth of Viet Nam.

Some properties of generalized local cohomology modules with respect to a pair of ideals

We introduce a notion of generalized local cohomology modules with respect to a pair of ideals $(I,J)$ which is a generalization of the concept of local cohomology modules with respect to $(I,J).$ We show that generalized local cohomology modules $H^i_{I,J}(M,N)$ can be computed by the Čech cohomology modules. We also study the artinianness of generalized local cohomology modules $H^i_{I,J}(M,N).$
