Proper moduli spaces of isolated non-normal singularities

We study the moduli of isolated non-normal singularities by introducing the functor $\mathrm{Crimp}_S^d(X)$ of crimpings of $(X \to S)$ corank $d$. This globalizes Ishii's moduli functor of subrings of finite colength. By verifying Artin's criteria, we prove that if $X \to S$ is a separated morphism of finite presentation, then $\mathrm{Crimp}_S^d(X)$ is represented by a separated algebraic space of finite presentation over $S$, which is proper when $X \to S$ is proper. We use this to construct a semistability condition and moduli space for geometrically unibranch curves of genus zero.

Diffusion Once and Done: Degradation-Aware LoRA for Efficient All-in-One Image Restoration

Diffusion models have revealed powerful potential in all-in-one image restoration (AiOIR), which is talented in generating abundant texture details. The existing AiOIR methods either retrain a diffusion model or fine-tune the pretrained diffusion model with extra conditional guidance. However, they often suffer from high inference costs and limited adaptability to diverse degradation types. In this paper, we propose an efficient AiOIR method, Diffusion Once and Done (DOD), which aims to achieve superior restoration performance with only one-step sampling of Stable Diffusion (SD) models. Specifically, multi-degradation feature modulation is first introduced to capture different degradation prompts with a pretrained diffusion model. Then, parameter-efficient conditional low-rank adaptation integrates the prompts to enable the fine-tuning of the SD model for adapting to different degradation types. Besides, a high-fidelity detail enhancement module is integrated into the decoder of SD to improve structural and textural details. Experiments demonstrate that our method outperforms existing diffusion-based restoration approaches in both visual quality and inference efficiency.

UniLDiff: Unlocking the Power of Diffusion Priors for All-in-One Image Restoration

All-in-One Image Restoration (AiOIR) has emerged as a promising yet challenging research direction. To address the core challenges of diverse degradation modeling and detail preservation, we propose UniLDiff, a unified framework enhanced with degradation- and detail-aware mechanisms, unlocking the power of diffusion priors for robust image restoration. Specifically, we introduce a Degradation-Aware Feature Fusion (DAFF) to dynamically inject low-quality features into each denoising step via decoupled fusion and adaptive modulation, enabling implicit modeling of diverse and compound degradations. Furthermore, we design a Detail-Aware Expert Module (DAEM) in the decoder to enhance texture and fine-structure recovery through expert routing. Extensive experiments across multi-task and mixed degradation settings demonstrate that our method consistently achieves state-of-the-art performance, highlighting the practical potential of diffusion priors for unified image restoration. Our code will be released.

Plug-Play Plasmonic Metafibers for Ultrafast Fiber Lasers

Metafibers expand the functionalities of conventional optical fibers to unprecedented nanoscale light manipulations by integrating metasurfaces on the fiber tips, becoming an emerging light-coupling platform for both nanoscience and fiber optics communities. Mostly exploring the isolated bare fibers, current metafibers remain as proof-of-concept demonstrations due to a lack of standard interfaces with the universal fiber networks. Here, we develop new methodologies to fabricate well-defined plasmonic metasurfaces directly on the end facets of commercial single mode fiber jumpers using standard planar technologies and provide a first demonstration of their practical applications in the nonlinear optics regime. Featuring plug-play connections with fiber circuitry and arbitrary metasurfaces landscapes, the metafibers with tunable plasmonic resonances are implemented into fiber laser cavities, yielding all-fiber sub-picosecond (minimum 513 fs) soliton mode locked lasers at optical wavelengths of 1.5 micrometer and 2 micrometer, demonstrating their unusual polarimetric nonlinear transfer functions and superior saturation absorption responses. Novel insights into the physical mechanisms behind the saturable absorption of plasmonic metasurfaces are provided. The nanofabrication process flow is compatible with existing cleanroom technologies, offering metafibers an avenue to be a regular member of functionalized fiber components. The work paves the way towards next generation of ultrafast fiber lasers, optical frequency combs, optical neural networks and ultracompact "all-in-fibers" optical systems for sensing, imaging, communications, and many others.

Thermal Conductivity of PAAm Hydrogel and its Crosslinking Effect

As the interface between human and machine becomes blurred, hydrogel incorporated electronics and devices have emerged to be a new class of flexible/stretchable electronic and ionic devices due to their extraordinary properties, such as soft, mechanically robust and biocompatible. However, heat dissipation in these devices could be a critical issue and remains unexplored. Here, we report the experimental measurements and equilibrium molecular dynamic (EMD) simulations of thermal conduction in polyacrylamide (PAAm) hydrogels at room temperature. The thermal conductivity of the PAAm hydrogels can be modulated from 0.33 to 0.51 Wm-1K-1 by changing the crosslinking density. The crosslinking density dependent thermal conductivity in hydrogels is explained by the competition between the increased conduction pathways and the enhanced phonon scattering effect. The assumption is further supported by both the equilibrium swelling ratio measurement and molecular simulation of hydrogels. Our study offers fundamental understanding of thermal transport in soft materials and provides design guidance for hydrogel-based devices.
