On the Drinfeld doubles of Laistrygonian algebras in positive characteristic

In this work, we study restricted Laistrygonian algebras over a field of positive characteristic $p$. We compute their Drinfeld double $\mathtt{D_p(q,a)}$ and give explicit presentations by generators and relations. We prove that $\mathtt{D_p(q,a)}$ is a pointed Hopf algebra. For $\mathtt{D_p(1,a)}$, we describe an abelian exact sequence of Hopf algebras and identify one of its quotients as a restricted enveloping Lie algebra. This exact sequence enables us to classify the finite-dimensional simple $\mathtt{D_p(1,a)}$-modules. We also introduce an infinite-dimensional Hopf algebra covering the restricted Drinfeld double and study its relation with the corresponding finite-dimensional case. Using this covering together with a Frobenius map, we construct a $3\times 3$ commutative diagram whose rows and columns are exact sequences of Hopf algebras. In particular, our approach provides a unified treatment of the Drinfeld doubles associated with restricted Laistrygonian algebras in arbitrary positive characteristic.

Hopf algebras over Chevalley groups

We show that every finite-dimensional pointed Hopf algebra over a finite simple Chevalley group, different from $PSL_2(q)$ with q= 3 mod 4 (and from $PSL_3(2)\simeq PSL_2(7)$), is isomorphic to the corresponding group algebra. To do this, we complete the analysis of the Nichols algebras of Yetter-Drinfeld modules over such groups whose support is a semisimple orbit, begun in arXiv:1506.06794, arXiv:2301.03361. In addition to the techniques used in loc. cit., we introduce a general procedure to determine when a semisimple conjugacy class in a Chevalley or Steinberg group is of type C and a new criterion based on the results of arXiv:2411.02304 that applies to arbitrary racks. Throughout the process, we obtain results on Nichols algebras over racks beyond the framework of Chevalley groups.

The Green ring of a restricted enveloping algebra in characteristic 2

Let $\Bbbk$ be an algebraically closed field of characteristic $2$ and let $\mathfrak{fsl}(2)$ be the unique, up to isomorphism, $3$-dimensional simple Lie algebra over $\Bbbk$. Denote by $\mathfrak{m}$ the minimal $2$-envelope of $\mathfrak{fsl}(2)$ and by $\mathfrak{u}(\mathfrak{m})$ its corresponding restricted enveloping algebra. The non-isomorphic finite-dimensional indecomposable $\mathfrak{u}(\mathfrak{m})$-modules were classified in \cite{ABDF}. In this paper, the Green ring (or representation ring) for $\mathfrak{u}(\mathfrak{m})$ is calculated. Also, the semisimplification of the representation category of $\mathfrak{u}(\mathfrak{m})$ is determined.

On the super Jordan plane

We study algebraic properties of the super Jordan plane~$\mathcal B$ introduced by I. Angiono, I. Heckenberger and the first named author. Concretely we show that $\mathcal B$ is super-prime and has a super-simple super-artinian ring of fractions. We also compute the groups of superalgebra and braided Hopf algebra automorphisms. Instrumental for our approach is the embedding of the Jordan plane as a subalgebra of $\mathcal B$.

On the finite generation of the cohomology of bosonizations

We use deformation sequences of (Hopf) algebras, extending the results of Negron and Pevtsova, to show that bosonizations of some suitable braided Hopf algebras by some suitable finite-dimensional Hopf algebras have finitely generated cohomology. In fact, our results are shown in more generality for smash products. As applications, we prove the bosonizations of some Nichols algebras (such as Nichols algebras of diagonal type, the restricted Jordan plane, Nichols algebras of direct sums of Jordan blocks plus points labeled with 1), by some suitable finite-dimensional Hopf algebras, have finitely generated cohomology, recovering some known results as well as providing new examples.

On the Drinfeld double of the restricted Jordan plane in characteristic $2$

We consider the restricted Jordan plane in characteristic $2$, a finite-dimensional Nichols algebra quotient of the Jordan plane that was introduced by Cibils, Lauve and Witherspoon. We extend results from \texttt{arXiv:2002.02514} on the analogous object in odd characteristic. We show that the Drinfeld double of the restricted Jordan plane fits into an exact sequence of Hopf algebras whose kernel is a normal local commutative Hopf subalgebra and the cokernel is the restricted enveloping algebra of a restricted Lie algebra $\mathfrak m$ of dimension 5. We show that $\mathfrak u(\mathfrak m)$ is tame and compute explicitly the indecomposable modules. An infinite-dimensional Hopf algebra covering the Drinfeld double of the restricted Jordan plane is introduced. Various quantum Frobenius maps are described.

On the finite generation of the cohomology of abelian extensions of Hopf algebras

A finite-dimensional Hopf algebra is called quasi-split if it is Morita equivalent to a split abelian extension of Hopf algebras. Combining results of Schauenburg and Negron, it is shown that every quasi-split finite-dimensional Hopf algebra satisfies the finite generation cohomology conjecture of Etingof and Ostrik. This is applied to a family of pointed Hopf algebras in odd characteristic introduced by Angiono, Heckenberger and the first author, proving that they satisfy the aforementioned conjecture.

We classify finite GK-dimensional Nichols algebras ${\mathscr B}(V)$ of rank 4 such that $V$ arises as a Yetter-Drinfeld module over an abelian group but it is not a direct sum of points and blocks.

A class of finite-by-cocommutative Hopf algebras

We present a rich source of Hopf algebras starting from a cofinite central extension of a Noetherian Hopf algebra and a subgroup of the algebraic group of characters of the central Hopf subalgebra. The construction is transparent from a Tannakian perspective. We determine when the new Hopf algebras are co-Frobenius, or cosemisimple, or Noetherian, or regular, or have finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension.

Poisson orders on large quantum groups

We develop a Poisson geometric framework for studying the representation theory of all contragredient quantum super groups at roots of unity. This is done in a uniform fashion by treating the larger class of quantum doubles of bozonizations of all distinguished pre-Nichols algebras arXiv:1405.6681 belonging to a one-parameter family; we call these algebras \emph{large} quantum groups. We prove that each of these quantum algebras has a central Hopf subalgebra giving rise to a Poisson order in the sense of arXiv:math/0201042.. We describe explicitly the underlying Poisson algebraic groups and Poisson homogeneous spaces in terms of Borel subgroups of complex semisimple algebraic groups of adjoint type. The geometry of the Poisson algebraic groups and Poisson homogeneous spaces that are involved and its applications to the irreducible representations of the algebras $U_{\mathfrak{q}} \supset U_{\mathfrak{q}}^{\geqslant} \supset U_{\mathfrak{q}}^+$ are also described. Besides all (multiparameter) big quantum groups of De Concini--Kac--Procesi and big quantum super groups at roots of unity, our framework also contains the quantizations in characteristic 0 of the 34-dimensional Kac-Weisfeler Lie algebras in characteristic 2 and the 10-dimensional Brown Lie algebras in characteristic 3. The previous approaches to the above problems relied on reductions to rank two cases and direct calculations of Poisson brackets, which is not possible in the super case since there are 13 kinds of additional Serre relations on up to 4 generators. We use a new approach that relies on perfect pairings between restricted and non-restricted integral forms.

On the finite-dimensional representations of the double of the Jordan plane

We continue the study of the Drinfeld double of the Jordan plane, denoted by $\mathcal D$ and introduced in arXiv:2002.02514. The simple finite-dimensional modules were computed in arXiv:2108.13849; it turns out that they factorize through $U(\spl_2(\Bbbk))$. Here we introduce the Verma modules and the category $\mathfrak O$ for $\mathcal D$, which have a resemblance to the similar ones in Lie theory but induced from indecomposable modules of the 0-part of the triangular decomposition. Accordingly, there is the notion of highest weight rank (hw-rk). We classify the indecomposable modules of hw-rk one and find families of hw-rk two. The Gabriel quiver of $\mathcal D$ is computed implying that it has a wild representation type.

On the Laistrygonian Nichols algebras that are domains

We consider a class of Nichols algebras $\mathscr{B} (\mathfrak L_q( 1, \mathscr{G}))$ introduced in [3] which are domains and have many favorable properties like AS-regular and strongly noetherian. We classify their finite-dimensional simple modules and their point modules.

Lie algebras arising from Nichols algebras of diagonal type

Let ${\mathcal B}_{\mathfrak{q}}$ be a finite-dimensional Nichols algebra of diagonal type with braiding matrix $\mathfrak{q}$, let $\mathcal{L}_{\mathfrak{q}}$ be the corresponding Lusztig algebra as in arXiv:1501.04518 and let $\operatorname{Fr}_{\mathfrak{q}}: \mathcal{L}_{\mathfrak{q}} \to U(\mathfrak{n}^{\mathfrak{q}})$ be the corresponding quantum Frobenius map as in arXiv:1603.09387. We prove that the finite-dimensional Lie algebra $\mathfrak{n}^{\mathfrak{q}}$ is either 0 or else the positive part of a semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}^{\mathfrak{q}}$ which is determined for each $\mathfrak{q}$ in the list of arXiv:math/0605795.
