Reduction of Cosymplectic groupoids by cosymplectic moment maps

The Marsden-Weinstein-Meyer symplectic reduction has an analogous version for cosymplectic manifolds. In this paper we extend this cosymplectic reduction to the context of groupoids. Moreover, we prove how in the case of an algebroid associated to a cosymplectic groupoid, the integration commutes with the reduction (analogously to what happens in Poisson geometry). On the other hand, we show how the cosymplectic reduction of a groupoid induces a symplectic reduction on a canonical symplectic subgroupoid. Finally, we study what happens to the multiplicative Chern class associated with the $S^1$-central extensions of the reduced groupoid.

Poly-symplectic Geometry and the AKSZ Formalism

We extend the AKSZ formulation of the Poisson sigma model to more general target spaces, and we develop the general theory of graded geometry for poly-symplectic and poly-Poisson structures. In particular we prove a Schwarz-type theorem and transgression for graded poly-symplectic structures, recovering the action functional and the poly-symplectic structure of the reduced phase space of the poly-Poisson sigma model, from the AKSZ construction.

On polar actions invariant solutions of semilinear equations on manifolds

In this paper we put together some tools from differential topology and analysis in order to study second order semi-linear partial differential equations on a Riemannian manifold $M$. We look for solutions that are constants along orbits of a given group action. Using some results obtained by Helgason in [J DIFFER GEOM,6(3), 411-419] we are able to write a (reduced) second order semi-linear problem on a submanifold $Σ$. This submanifold is, in certain sense, transversal to the orbits of the group actions and its existence is assumed. We describe precise conditions on the Riemannian Manifold $M$ and the submanifold $Σ$ in order to be able to write the reduced equation on $Σ$. These conditions are satisfied by several particular cases including some examples treated separately in the literature such as the sphere, surfaces of revolution and others. Our framework also includes the setup of polar actions or exponential coordinates. Using this procedure, we are left with a second order semi-linear equation posed on a submanifold. In particular, if the submanifold $Σ$ is one-dimensional, we can use suitable tools from analysis to obtain existence and properties of solutions.

On higher Dirac structures

We study higher-order analogues of Dirac structures, extending the multisymplectic structures that arise in field theory. We define higher Dirac structures as involutive subbundles of $TM+\wedge^k TM^*$ satisfying a weak version of the usual lagrangian condition (which agrees with it only when $k=1$). Higher Dirac structures transversal to $TM$ recover the higher Poisson structures introduced in [8] as the infinitesimal counterparts of multisymplectic groupoids. We describe the leafwise geometry underlying an involutive isotropic subbundle in terms of a distinguished 1-cocycle in a natural differential complex, generalizing the presymplectic foliation of a Dirac structure. We also identify the global objects integrating higher Dirac structures.

Poly-symplectic groupoids and poly-Poisson structures

We introduce poly-symplectic groupoids, which are natural extensions of symplectic groupoids to the context of poly-symplectic geometry, and define poly-Poisson structures as their infinitesimal counterparts. We present equivalent descriptions of poly-Poisson structures, including one related with AV-Dirac structures. We also discuss symmetries and reduction in the setting of poly-symplectic groupoids and poly-Poisson structures, and use our viewpoint to revisit results and develop new aspects of the theory initiated by D.Iglesias, J.C Marrero and M. Vaquero.
