A market resilient data-driven approach to option pricing

In this paper, we present a data-driven ensemble approach for option price prediction whose derivation is based on the no-arbitrage theory of option pricing. Using the theoretical treatment, we derive a common representation space for achieving domain adaptation. The success of an implementation of this idea is shown using some real data. Then we report several experimental results for critically examining the performance of the derived pricing models.

Local solution to an energy critical 2-D stochastic wave equation with exponential nonlinearity in a bounded domain

We prove the existence and the uniqueness of a local maximal solution to an $H^1$-critical stochastic wave equation with multiplicative noise on a smooth bounded domain $\mathcal{D} \subset \mathbb{R}^2$ with exponential nonlinearity. First, we derive the appropriate deterministic and stochastic Strichartz inequalities in suitable spaces and, then use them in arguments based on fixed point method to show the local well-posedness result. We also present an explosion result for the constructed unique local maximal solution.

Random dynamical system generated by the 3D Navier-Stokes equation with rough transport noise

We consider the Navier-Stokes system in three dimensions perturbed by a transport noise which is sufficiently smooth in space and rough in time. The existence of a weak solution was proved recently, however, as in the deterministic setting the question of uniqueness remains a major open problem. An important feature of systems with uniqueness is the semigroup property satisfied by their solutions. Without uniqueness, this property cannot hold generally. We select a system of solutions satisfying the semigroup property with appropriately shifted rough path. In addition, the selected solutions respect the well accepted admissibility criterium for physical solutions, namely, maximization of the energy dissipation. Finally, under suitable assumptions on the driving rough path, we show that the Navier-Stokes system generates a measurable random dynamical system. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first construction of a measurable single-valued random dynamical system in the state space for an SPDE without uniqueness.

Decay of correlations in stochastic quantization: the exponential Euclidean field in two dimensions

We present two approaches to establish the exponential decay of correlation functions of Euclidean quantum field theories (EQFTs) via stochastic quantization (SQ). In particular we consider the elliptic stochastic quantization of the Høegh--Krohn (or $\exp (αϕ)_2$) EQFT in two dimensions. The first method is based on a path-wise coupling argument and PDE apriori estimates while the second on estimates of the Malliavin derivative of the solution to the SQ equation.

Wave maps in dimension $1+1$ with an external forcing

This paper aims to establish the local and global well-posedness theory in $L^1$, inspired by the approach of Keel and Tao [Internat. Math. Res. Notices, 1998], for the forced wave map equation in the ``external'' formalism. In this context, the target manifold is treated as a submanifold of a Euclidean space. As a corollary, we reprove Zhou's [Math. Z., 1999] uniqueness result, leading to the uniqueness of weak solutions with locally finite energy. Additionally, we achieve the scattering of such solutions through a conformal compactification argument.

Stochastic Modified Flows for Riemannian Stochastic Gradient Descent

We give quantitative estimates for the rate of convergence of Riemannian stochastic gradient descent (RSGD) to Riemannian gradient flow and to a diffusion process, the so-called Riemannian stochastic modified flow (RSMF). Using tools from stochastic differential geometry we show that, in the small learning rate regime, RSGD can be approximated by the solution to the RSMF driven by an infinite-dimensional Wiener process. The RSMF accounts for the random fluctuations of RSGD and, thereby, increases the order of approximation compared to the deterministic Riemannian gradient flow. The RSGD is build using the concept of a retraction map, that is, a cost efficient approximation of the exponential map, and we prove quantitative bounds for the weak error of the diffusion approximation under assumptions on the retraction map, the geometry of the manifold, and the random estimators of the gradient.

Pseudo-differential calculi and entropy estimates with Orlicz modulation spaces

We deduce continuity properties for pseudo-differential operators with symbols in Orlicz modulation spaces when acting on other Orlicz modulation spaces. In particular we extend well-known results in the literature. We also show that the entropy functional is continuous on a suitable Orlicz modulation space between $M^p$ and $M^2$ when $p<2$, though the functional is discontinuous on $M^2=L^2$.

Non-linear Young equations in the plane and pathwise regularization by noise for the stochastic wave equation

We study pathwise regularization by noise for equations on the plane in the spirit of the framework outlined by Catellier and Gubinelli (Stochastic Process. Appl., 2016). To this end, we extend the notion of non-linear Young equations to a two dimensional domain and prove existence and uniqueness of such equations. This concept is then used in order to prove regularization by noise for stochastic equations on the plane. The statement of regularization by noise is formulated in terms of the regularity of the local time associated to the perturbing stochastic field. For this, we provide two quantified example: a fractional Brownian sheet and the sum of two one-parameter fractional Brownian motions. As a further illustration of our regularization results, we also prove well-posedness of a 1D non-linear wave equation with a noisy boundary given by fractional Brownian motions. A discussion of open problems and further investigations is provided.

Regime Switching Optimal Growth Model with Risk Sensitive Preferences

We consider a risk-sensitive optimization of consumption-utility on infinite time horizon where the one-period investment gain depends on an underlying economic state whose evolution over time is assumed to be described by a discrete-time, finite-state, Markov chain. We suppose that the production function also depends on a sequence of i.i.d. random shocks. For the sake of generality, the utility and the production functions are allowed to be unbounded from above. Under the Markov regime-switching model, it is shown that the value function of optimization problem satisfies an optimality equation and that the optimality equation has a unique solution in a particular class of functions. Furthermore, we show that an optimal policy exists in the class of stationary policies. We also derive the Euler equation of optimal consumption. Furthermore, the existence of the unique joint stationary distribution of the optimal growth process and the underlying regime process is examined. Finally, we present a numerical solution by considering power utility and some hypothetical values of parameters in a regime switching extension of Cobb-Douglas production rate function.

Large Deviations for $(1+1)$-dimensional Stochastic Geometric Wave Equation

We consider stochastic wave map equation on real line with solutions taking values in a $d$-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold. We show first that this equation has unique, global, strong in PDE sense, solution in local Sobolev spaces. The main result of the paper is a proof of the Large Deviations Principle for solutions in the case of vanishing noise.

Risk Sensitive Portfolio Optimization in a Jump Diffusion Model with Regimes

This article studies a portfolio optimization problem, where the market consisting of several stocks is modeled by a multi-dimensional jump-diffusion process with age-dependent semi-Markov modulated coefficients. We study risk sensitive portfolio optimization on the finite time horizon. We study the problem by using a probabilistic approach to establish the existence and uniqueness of the classical solution to the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation. We also implement a numerical scheme to investigate the behavior of solutions for different values of the initial portfolio wealth, the maturity, and the risk of aversion parameter.
