Chiral fluids: a few theoretical issues

We review briefly a few topics concerning physics of fluids whose constituents are massless fermions interacting in chiral invariant way. Macroscopic manifestations of the chral anomaly is one of central issues. Another topic is ultraviolet vs infrared sensistivity of chiral magnetic and vortical effects. To clarify dynamical issues involved we rely mostly on a (well-known) toy model of pionic superfluidity.

Quark-hadron duality in hydrodynamics: an example

We consider the problem of transferring overall rotation of quark-gluon plasma to polarization of hyperons along the rotation axis. As a toy theoretical model, we exploit that of pionic superfluidity induced by chemical potentials violating isotopic symmetry. Apparently, the model accounts only for the light degrees of freedom, that is pions. The rotation, however, results in vortices which are infinitely thin in the hydrodynamic approximation. Field theory resolves the singularity and predicts that the core of the vortices is build up on spins of baryons. We review consequences from the quark-hadron duality in this case. First, an anomalous triangle graph in effective field theory turns to be dual to the vorticity term in the standard hydrodynamic expansion. And, then, the overall coefficient determining the polarization of baryons is fixed by duality with the triangle graph in the fundamental field theory.

Hawking radiation and the Bloom-Gilman duality

The decay widths of the quantum black hole precursors, determined from the poles of the resummed graviton propagator, are matched to the expected lifetime given by the Hawking decay. In this way, we impose a sort of duality between a perturbative description and an essentially non-perturbative description, bearing some similarity with the Bloom-Gilman duality for the strong interactions. General relations are then obtained for the widths and masses of the poles in terms of the number of particle species and the renormalisation scale of gravity.

Hadron tomography and its application to gravitational radii of hadrons

Hadron tomography has been investigated by three-dimensional structure functions, such as generalized parton distributions (GPDs) and generalized distribution amplitudes (GDAs). The GDAs are $s$-$t$ crossed quantities of the GPDs, and both functions probe gravitational form factors for hadrons. We determined the pion GDAs by analyzing Belle data on the differential cross section for the two-photon process $γ^* γ\to π^0 π^0$. From the determined GDAs, we calculated timelike gravitational form factors of the pion and they were converted to the spacelike form factors by using the dispersion relation. These gravitational form factors $Θ_1$ and $Θ_2$ indicate mechanical (pressure, shear force) and gravitational-mass (or energy) distributions, respectively. Then, gravitational radii are calculated for the pion from the form factors, and they are compared with the pion charge radius. We explain that the new field of gravitational physics can be developed in the microscopic level of quarks and gluons.

How to measure the linear polarization of gluons in unpolarized proton using the heavy-quark pair leptoproduction

We study the azimuthal $\cos φ$ and $\cos 2φ$ asymmetries in heavy-quark pair leptoproduction, $lN\rightarrow l^{\prime}Q\bar{Q}X$, as probes of linearly polarized gluons inside unpolarized proton, where the azimuth $φ$ is the angle between the lepton scattering plane $(l,l^{\prime})$ and the heavy quark production plane $(N,Q)$. First, we determine the maximal values for the $\cos φ$ and $\cos 2φ$ asymmetries allowed by the photon-gluon fusion with unpolarized gluons; these predictions are large, $(\sqrt{3}-1)/2$ and $1/3$, respectively. Then we calculate the contribution of the transverse-momentum dependent gluonic counterpart of the Boer-Mulders function, $h_{1}^{\perp g}$, describing the linear polarization of gluons inside unpolarized proton. Our analysis shows that the maximum values of the azimuthal distributions depend strongly on the gluon polarization; they vary from 0 to 1 depending on $h_{1}^{\perp g}$. We conclude that the azimuthal $\cos φ$ and $\cos 2φ$ asymmetries in heavy-quark pair leptoproduction are predicted to be large and very sensitive to the contribution of linearly polarized gluons. For this reason, future measurements of the azimuthal distributions in charm and bottom production at the proposed EIC and LHeC colliders seem to be very promising for determination of the linear polarization of gluons inside unpolarized proton.

Tomography and gravitational radii for hadrons by three-dimensional structure functions

Three-dimensional tomography of hadrons can be investigated by generalized parton distributions (GPDs), transverse-momentum-dependent parton distributions (TMDs), and generalized distribution amplitudes (GDAs). The GDA studies had been only theoretical for a long time because there was no experimental measurement until recently, whereas the GPDs and TMDs have been investigated extensively by deeply virtual Compton scattering and semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering. Here, we report our studies to determine pion GDAs from recent KEKB measurements on the differential cross section of $γ^* γ\to π^0 π^0$. Since an exotic-hadron pair can be produced in the final state, the GDAs can be used also for probing internal structure of exotic hadron candidates in future. The other important feature of the GDAs is that the GDAs contain information on form factors of the energy-momentum tensor for quarks and gluons, so that gravitational form factors and radii can be calculated from the determined GDAs. We show the mass (energy) and the mechanical (pressure, shear force) form factors and radii for the pion. Our analysis should be the first attempt for obtaining gravitational form factors and radii of hadrons by analysis of actual experimental measurements. We believe that a new field of gravitational physics is created from the microscopic level in terms of elementary quarks and gluons.

3D structure of hadrons by generalized distribution amplitudes and gravitational form factors

Generalized distribution amplitudes (GDAs) are one type of three-dimensional structure functions, and they are related to the generalized distribution functions (GPDs) by the $s$-$t$ crossing of the Mandelstam variables. The GDA studies provide information on three-dimensional tomography of hadrons. The GDAs can be investigated by the two-photon process $γ^* γ\to h\bar h$, and the GPDs are studied by the deeply virtual Compton scattering $γ^* h \to γh$. The GDA studies had been pure theoretical topics, although the GPDs have been experimentally investigated, because there was no available experimental measurement. Recently, the Belle collaboration reported their measurements on the $γ^* γ\to π^0 π^0$ differential cross section, so that it became possible to find the GDAs from their measurements. Here, we report our analysis of the Belle data for determining the pion GDAs. From the GDAs, the timelike gravitational form factors $Θ_1 (s)$ and $Θ_2 (s)$ can be calculated, which are mechanical (pressure, shear force) and mass (energy) form factors, respectively. They are converted to the spacelike form factors by using the dispersion relation, and then gravitational radii are evaluated for the pion. The mass and mechanical radii are obtained from $Θ_2$ and $Θ_1$ as $\sqrt {\langle r^2 \rangle_{\text{mass}}} =0.56 \sim 0.69$ fm and $\sqrt {\langle r^2 \rangle_{\text{mech}}} =1.45 \sim 1.56$ fm, whereas the experimental charge radius is $\sqrt {\langle r^2 \rangle_{\text{charge}}} =0.672 \pm 0.008$ fm for the charged pion. Future developments are expected in this new field to explore gravitational physics in the quark and gluon level.

Model predictions for azimuthal spin asymmetries for HERMES and COMPASS kinematics

We have presented the results for the single and double spin asymmetries in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scatterings for proton in a light front quark-diquark model. The asymmetries generated by the T-even TMDs are discussed here. The model predictions are found to agree with the available data. We also present our model predictions for the Collins asymmetry for the future electron-ion collider experiments.

Nucleon structure functions in the truncated moments approach

We demonstrate advantages of the truncated Mellin moments (TMM) approach in the analysis of DIS data. We present a novel method for determination of the Bjorken sum rule (BSR) from restricted in $x$ variable experimental data. We show how to incorporate different uncertainties for each kinematic bin. We apply our analysis to recent COMPASS data.

Study of Spin through Gluon Poles

Based on the use of contour gauge and collinear factorization, we propose a new set of single spin asymmetry which can be measured in polarized Drell-Yan process by SPD@NICA. We stress that the discussed single transverse spin asymmetries exist owing to the gluon poles manifesting in the twist-3 or twist-2$\otimes$twist-3 parton distributions related to the transverse-polarized Drell-Yan process.

Angular distributions in pion-nucleon Drell-Yan process

We study the Drell-Yan process in the polarized pion-nucleon scattering. We calculate the $U(1)_\text{em}$ gauge invariant hadron tensors. To this end, we have to take into account two diagrams---the standard diagram and an additional one---both diagrams are required to get the gauge invariant hadron tensor. We obtain a new single transverse spin asymmetry that probes gluon poles and chiral-odd distribution functions. The process of pion-nucleon scattering in the limit of large Feynman $x$ is described by a convolution of two non-collinear exclusive-channel distribution amplitudes, which demonstrates the duality between different factorization regimes.

Determination of the properties of vector mesons in external magnetic field by Quenched $SU(3)$ Lattice QCD

We investigate the ground state energies of vector $ρ^{\pm}$ and $K^{\pm *}$ mesons depending on the magnetic field value in the $SU(3)$ lattice gauge theory. It has been shown that the energy of a vector particle depends on its spin projection on the field axis. The magnetic dipole polarizability and hyperpolarizabilities give significant contributions to the energy value which prevents the formation of the charged vector meson condensate at high magnetic fields. We calculate the g-factor of $ρ^{\pm}$ and $K^{\pm*}$ mesons and the dipole magnetic polarizability of $ρ^{\pm}$ mesons.

Cut Moments approach in the analysis of DIS data

We review the main results on the generalization of the DGLAP evolution equations within the cut Mellin moments (CMM) approach, which allows one to overcome the problem of kinematic constraints in Bjorken $x$. CMM obtained by multiple integrations as well as multiple differentiations of the original parton distribution also satisfy the DGLAP equations with the simply transformed evolution kernel. The CMM approach provides novel tools to test QCD; here we present one of them. Using appropriate classes of CMM, we construct the generalized Bjorken sum rule that allows us to determine the Bjorken sum rule value from the experimental data in a restricted kinematic range of $x$. We apply our analysis to COMPASS data on the spin structure function $g_1$.

Graviton propagator, renormalization scale and black-hole like states

We study the analytic structure of the resummed graviton propagator, inspired by the possible existence of black hole precursors in its spectrum. We find an infinite number of poles with positive mass, but both positive and negative effective width, and studied their asymptotic behaviour in the infinite sheet Riemann surface. We find that the stability of these precursors depend crucially on the value of the normalisation point scale.

QCD predictions for the azimuthal asymmetry in charm leptoproduction for the COMPASS kinematics

We present the QCD predictions for the azimuthal $\cos 2φ$ asymmetry in charm leptoproduction for the kinematics of the COMPASS experiment at CERN. The asymmetry is predicted to be large, about 15%. The radiative corrections to the QCD predictions for the $\cos 2φ$ distribution are estimated to be small, less than 10%. Our calculations show that the azimuthal asymmetry in charm production is well defined in pQCD: it is stable both perturbatively and parametrically, and practically insensitive to theoretical uncertainties in the input parameters. We analyze the nonperturbative contributions to the $\cos 2φ$ distribution due to the gluon transverse motion in the target and the $c$-quark fragmentation. Because of the $c$-quark low mass, the nonperturbative contributions are expected to be sizable, about (30--40)%. We conclude that extraction of the azimuthal asymmetries from available COMPASS data will provide valuable information about the transverse momentum dependent distribution of the gluon in the proton and the $c$-quark hadronization mechanism. Finally, we discuss the $\cos 2φ$ asymmetry as a probe of the gluonic analogue of the Boer-Mulders function, $h_{1}^{\perp g}$, describing the linear polarization of gluons inside unpolarized proton.

Drell-Yan-like processes and duality

We calculate the gauge invariant Drell-Yan-like hadron tensors. In connection with new COMPASS results, we propose the single spin asymmetry which probes gluon poles together with chiral-odd and time-odd functions. The relevant pion production as a particular case of Drell-Yan-like process has been discussed. For the meson-induced Drell-Yan process, we model an analog of the twist three distribution function, which is a collinear function in inclusive channel, by means of two non-collinear distribution amplitudes which are associated with exclusive channel. This modelling demonstrates the fundamental duality between different factorization regimes.

Systematic Comparison of Tsallis Statistics for Charged Pions Produced In $pp$ Collisions

The energy dependence of Tsallis statistics parameters is presented for charged pions produced at beam energies ranging between 6.3 GeV and 7 TeV. It is found that deviations from Boltzmann statistics are monotonically growing with beam energy. This may be attributed to the dominance of low $x$ at higher energies leading to the power-like NLO QCD spectra for which Tsallis statistics may serve as effective theory. At the same time, for larger $x$ at lower beam energies the Gaussian falloff of transverse-momentum-dependent distributions is crucial and correspondent effective description is provided by the Boltzmann distribution.

Drell-Yan hadron tensor: contour gauge and gluon propagator

We consider the gauge invariant Drell-Yan hadron tensor which includes the standard and non-standard diagram contributions. The non-standard diagram contribution is appeared owing to the complexity of the twist three $B^V(x_1,x_2)$-function where the gluon pole manifests. We use the contour gauge conception which allows us to fix easily the spurious uncertainties in the gluon propagator. The contour gauge condition is generated by the corresponding Wilson lines in both the standard and non-standard diagrams. We demonstrate the substantial role of the non-standard diagram for forming of the relevant contour in the Wilson path-ordered exponential that leads to the spurious singularity fixing.
