Fourier and Helgason Fourier transforms for Vector Bundle-valued Differential Forms on Homogeneous Spaces

The major aim of studying harmonic analysis on any group or symmetric space is to understand enough of its structure to be able to prove the fundamental theorem on it via the Fourier transform map. To this end we employ the perspective of the functional equation satisfied by the classical Fourier transform to derive the Helgason Fourier transform given as the map $Ω^{l}(G/K,W)\longrightarrowΩ^{k}(G/K\times G/P,V[χ]):f\longmapsto \widehat{f}:G/K\times G/P\mapsto V[χ]:(x,b)\longmapsto\widehat{f}(x,b)$ (for $W-$valued differential forms $f\in Ω^{l}(G/K,W)$) as the $G-$ invariant vector bundle-valued differential form $\widehat{f}$ on the product space $G/K\times G/P$ whose image under the vector bundle-valued Poisson transform is the fibre convolution-integral $φ^{U^{σ,ν}}_{τ,l,k}* f$ on $G/K,$ where $φ^{U^{σ,ν}}_{τ,l,k}$ is the $W-$valued $τ-$spherical $l-$form on $G/K.$ Explicitly, we prove that $$\widehat{f}_{l,k,\varepsilon(λ)}(x,b)=({\bf C_{o}(λ)}^{-1}\circβ^{V}(λ))\circ(\int_{G/K}φ^{U^{σν},t}_{λ,l,k}\wedgeπ^{*}_{K}f)(x),$$ where $b\in G/P$ is a consequence of the boundary map $β^{V}(λ),$ ${\bf C_{o}(λ)}$ is the vector bundle-valued Harish-Chandra $c-$function and for some $λ-$linear relation, $\varepsilon(λ).$ The Fourier transform is found to be the map $Ω^{l}(G/K,W)\longrightarrowΩ^{k}(G/K\times G/P,W)$ $:f\mapsto f^{\triangle}:$ $G/P\times G/K\longrightarrow W$ $:(b,x)\longmapsto f^{\triangle}(b,x)$ and is then established to be explicitly given as $f^{\triangle}_{l,k,\upsilon(λ)}(b,x)=$ $$\int_{G/P}ϕ_{k,l,λ}\wedgeπ^{*}_{P}(({\bf C_{o}(λ)}^{-1}\circβ^{V}(λ))\circ(\int_{G/K}φ^{U^{σν},t}_{λ,l,k}\wedgeπ^{*}_{K}f)(x)),$$ where $\upsilon(λ)$ is some $λ-$linear relation.

On the Lie algebra of a Malcev algebra

This paper develops the structure theory of a Malcev algebra via the consideration of its most important and largest Lie (sub-) algebra. We introduce the notion of a Lie algebra which uniquely corresponds to a Malcev algebra and use this correspondence to derive some basic properties of some types of ideals in the Malcev algebra. We then prove the exact nature of the root-space decomposition of a Malcev algebra.

Paley-Wiener theorem for the Joint-Eigenspace Fourier transform on noncompact symmetric spaces

This paper conducts a geometric analysis of the Joint-Eigenspace Fourier transform of the symmetric space of the non-compact type. Our study shows how the Poisson transform builds up the well-known Helgason Fourier transform for an analysis of the complete duality of the underlying symetric space. Among other results, we establish an inversion formula, a Plancherel formula and (as our main result) a Paley-Wiener theorem for the Joint-Eigenspace Fourier transform on any noncompact symmetric space.

On the operator-valued Fourier transform of the Harish-Chandra Schwartz Algebra

We establish a $K-$type decomposition of the Harish-Chandra Schwartz algebra $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G),$ for any real-rank $1$ reductive group $G$ with a maximal compact subgroup $K$ and $0<p\leq2.$ This decomposition is then used to give an infinite-matrix-realization of the operator-valued Fourier image $$\mathfrak{F}:\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)\rightarrow \mathcal{C}^{p}(\hat{G})$$ of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)$ as a Fr$\acute{e}$chet multiplication algebra in which every member of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(\hat{G})$ consists of a countable block-matrices of the form $$((\mathfrak{F}_{B}(\breveα)_{(γ,m)}(Λ)\otimes\mathfrak{F}_{H}(\breveα)_{(γ,l)}(Q:χ:ν))_{γ\in F, (l,m)\in\mathbb{Z}^{2}})_{F\subset \hat{K},|F|<\infty}$$ for every $α\in \mathcal{C}^{p}(G).$ This proves Trombi's conjecture for $G$ of real rank $1$ and the technique leads to a proof of the fundamental theorem of harmonic analysis for any arbitrary real-rank reductive group $G.$

Non-spherical Harish-Chandra Fourier transforms on real reductive groups

The Harish-Chandra Fourier transform, $f\mapsto\mathcal{H}f,$ is a linear topological algebra isomorphism of the spherical (Schwartz) convolution algebra $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G//K)$ (where $K$ is a maximal compact subgroup of any arbitrarily chosen group $G$ in the Harish-Chandra class and $0<p\leq2$) onto the (Schwartz) multiplication algebra $\bar{\mathcal{Z}}({\mathfrak{F}}^ε)$ (of $\mathfrak{w}-$invariant members of $\mathcal{Z}({\mathfrak{F}}^ε),$ with $ε=(2/p)-1$). This is the well-known Trombi-Varadarajan theorem for spherical functions on the real reductive group, $G.$ Even though $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G//K)$ is a closed subalgebra of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G),$ a similar theorem cannot however be proved for the full Schwartz convolution algebra $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)$ except; for $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G/K)$ (whose method is essentially that of Trombi-Varadarajan, as shown by M. Eguchi); for few specific examples of groups (notably $G=SL(2,\R)$) and; for some notable values of $p$ (with restrictions on $G$ and/or on members of $\;\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)$). In this paper, we construct an appropriate image of the Harish-Chandra Fourier transform for the full Schwartz convolution algebra $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G),$ without any restriction on any of $G,p$ and members of $\;\mathcal{C}^{p}(G).$ Our proof, that the Harish-Chandra Fourier transform, $f\mapsto\mathcal{H}f,$ is a linear topological algebra isomorphism on $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G),$ equally shows that its image $\mathcal{C}^{p}(\widehat{G})$ can be nicely decomposed, that the full invariant harmonic analysis is available and implies that the definition of the Harish-Chandra Fourier transform may now be extended to include all $p-$tempered distributions on $G$ and to the zero-Schwartz spaces

The full Bochner theorem on real reductive groups

The major results of Barker $[3.],$ leading to the spherical Bochner theorem and its (spherical) extension, were made possible through the spherical transform theory of Trombi-Varadarajan $[14.]$ and were greatly controlled by the non-availability of the full (non-spherical) Harish-Chandra Fourier transform theory on a general connected semisimple Lie group, $G.$ Sequel to the recently announced results of Oyadare $[13.],$ where the full image of the Schwartz-type algebras, $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G),$ under the full Fourier transform is computed to be $\mathcal{C}^{p}(\widehat{G}):=\{(\widehat{ξ_{1}})^{-1}\cdot h\cdot (\widehat{ξ_{1}})^{-1}:h\in\bar{\mathcal{Z}}({\mathfrak{F}}^ε)\}$ with $\bar{\mathcal{Z}}({\mathfrak{F}}^ε)$ given as the Trombi-Varadarajan image of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G//K),$ the present paper now gives the full Bochner theorem for $G$ by lifting the results of $[3.]$ to full non-spherical status. An extension of the full Bochner theorem to all of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G),$ $1\leq p\leq2,$ is established. It is also conjectured that every positive-definite distribution $T$ on $G$ which corresponds to a Bochner measure $μ$ on ${\mathfrak{F}}^ε$ extends uniquely to an element of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)'$ if and only if $T$ can be expressed as a finite sum of derivatives of a class of functions exclusively parameterized by members of ${\mathfrak{F}}^ε$ and $supp\; (μ)\subset{\mathfrak{F}}^ε,$ with $ε=(\frac{2}{p})-1$ for all $1\leq p\leq2.$ This gives the non-spherical abstract version of the extension theorem for any positive-definite distribution on $G.$ Our results confirm the one-to-one correspondence between tempered invariant positive-definite distributions and the Bochner measures of the case $SU(1,1)/\{\pm1\}$ (as computed in Barker $[5.]$) for all $G.$

Fourier Transform of Schwartz Algebras on Groups in the Harish-Chandra class

It is well-known that the Harish-Chandra transform, $f\mapsto\mathcal{H}f,$ is a topological isomorphism of the spherical (Schwartz) convolution algebra $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G//K)$ (where $K$ is a maximal compact subgroup of any arbitrarily chosen group $G$ in the Harish-Chandra class and $0<p\leq2$) onto the (Schwartz) multiplication algebra $\bar{\mathcal{Z}}({\mathfrak{F}}^ε)$ (of $\mathfrak{w}-$invariant members of $\mathcal{Z}({\mathfrak{F}}^ε),$ with $ε=(2/p)-1$). The same cannot however be said of the full Schwartz convolution algebra $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G),$ except for few specific examples of groups (notably $G=SL(2,\mathbb{R})$) and for some notable values of $p$ (with restrictions on $G$ and/or on $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)$). Nevertheless the full Harish-Chandra Plancherel formula on $G$ is known for all of $\mathcal{C}^{2}(G)=:\mathcal{C}(G).$ In order to then understand the structure of Harish-Chandra transform more clearly and to compute the image of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)$ under it (without any restriction) we derive an absolutely convergent series expansion (in terms of known functions) for the Harish-Chandra transform by an application of the full Plancherel formula on $G.$ This leads to a computation of the image of $\mathcal{C}(G)$ under the Harish-Chandra transform which may be seen as a concrete realization of Arthur's result and be easily extended to all of $\mathcal{C}^{p}(G)$ in much the same way as it is known in the work of Trombi and Varadarajan.

Abstract Peter-Weyl theory for semicomplete orthonormal sets

The central concept in the harmonic analysis of a compact group is the completeness of Peter-Weyl orthonormal basis as constructed from the matrix coefficients of a maximal set of irreducible unitary representations of the group, leading ultimately to the direct sum decomposition of its $L^{2}-$ space. A Peter-Weyl theory for a semicomplete orthonormal set is also possible and is here developed in this paper for compact groups. Existence of semicomplete orthonormal sets on a compact group is proved by an explicit construction of the standard Riemann-Lebesgue semicomplete orthonormal set. This approach gives an insight into the role played by the $L^{2}-$ space of a compact group, which is discovered to be just an example (indeed the largest example for every semicomplete orthonormal set) of what is called a prime-Parseval subspace, which we proved to be dense in the usual $L^{2}-$ space, serves as the natural domain of the Fourier transform and breaks up into a direct-sum decomposition. This paper essentially gives the harmonic analysis of the prime-Parseval subsapce of a compact group corresponding to any semicomplete orthonormal set, with an introduction to what is expected for all connected semisimple Lie groups through the notion of a $K-$semicomplete orthonormal set.

Non-gaussian $r-$congruences

This paper is an invitation to the study and use of general theory of non-gaussian $r-$congruences in the theory of numbers. In this work we classify the two kinds of $r-$congruences that exist (namely the trivial and non-trivial types) and establish their foundational properties as well as their algebra. Among other results, we show that the consideration of the non-trivial $r-$ congruences entails the elucidation of a distinguished cyclic subgroup of the permutation group, while the trivial $r-$congruences (chief among which is the well-known gaussian congruence) leads to the trivial subgroup. The order of this cyclic group is also computed.

On Quasi-Symmetric Polynomially Bounded Fréchet Algebras

This paper concerns the notion of a symmetric algebra and its generalization to a quasi-symmetric algebra. We study the structure of these algebras in respect to their hull-kernel regularity and existence of some ideals, especially the hull-minimal ideals.

Series Analysis and Schwartz Algebras of Spherical Convolutions on Semisimple Lie Groups

We give the exact contributions of Harish-Chandra transform, $(\mathcal{H}f)(λ),$ of Schwartz functions $f$ to the harmonic analysis of spherical convolutions and the corresponding $L^{p}-$ Schwartz algebras on a connected semisimple Lie group $G$ (with finite center). One of our major results gives the proof of how the Trombi-Varadarajan Theorem enters into the spherical convolution transform of $L^{p}-$ Schwartz functions.

On harmonic analysis of spherical convolutions on semisimple Lie groups

This paper contains a non-trivial generalization of the Harish-Chandra transforms on a connected semisimple Lie group $G,$ with finite center, into what we term spherical convolutions. Among other results we show that its integral over the collection of bounded spherical functions at the identity element $e \in G$ is a weighted Fourier transforms of the Abel transform at $0.$ Being a function on $G,$ the restriction of this integral of its spherical Fourier transforms to the positive-definite spherical functions is then shown to be (the non-zero constant multiple of) a positive-definite distribution on $G,$ which is tempered and invariant on $G=SL(2,\mathbb{R}).$ These results suggest the consideration of a calculus on the Schwartz algebras of spherical functions. The Plancherel measure of the spherical convolutions is also explicitly computed.

Galois groups of Fermat polynomials and the arithmetic groups of Diophantine curves

This paper develops a framework of algebra whereby every Diophantine equation is made quickly accessible by a study of the corresponding row entries in an array of numbers which we call the Newtonian triangles. We then apply this framework to the understandimg of the Fermat's Last Theorem and discuss some of its direct consequences.
