Integrable potentials on spaces with curvature from quantum groups

A family of classical integrable systems defined on a deformation of the two-dimensional sphere, hyperbolic and (anti-)de Sitter spaces is constructed through Hamiltonians defined on the non-standard quantum deformation of a sl(2) Poisson coalgebra. All these spaces have a non-constant curvature that depends on the deformation parameter z. As particular cases, the analogues of the harmonic oscillator and Kepler--Coulomb potentials on such spaces are proposed. Another deformed Hamiltonian is also shown to provide superintegrable systems on the usual sphere, hyperbolic and (anti-)de Sitter spaces with a constant curvature that exactly coincides with z. According to each specific space, the resulting potential is interpreted as the superposition of a central harmonic oscillator with either two more oscillators or centrifugal barriers. The non-deformed limit z=0 of all these Hamiltonians can then be regarded as the zero-curvature limit (contraction) which leads to the corresponding (super)integrable systems on the flat Euclidean and Minkowskian spaces.

Curvature from quantum deformations

A Poisson coalgebra analogue of a (non-standard) quantum deformation of sl(2) is shown to generate an integrable geodesic dynamics on certain 2D spaces of non-constant curvature. Such a curvature depends on the quantum deformation parameter z and the flat case is recovered in the limit z\to 0. A superintegrable geodesic dynamics can also be defined in the same framework, and the corresponding spaces turn out to be either Riemannian or relativistic spacetimes (AdS and dS) with constant curvature equal to z. The underlying coalgebra symmetry of this approach ensures the existence of its generalization to arbitrary dimension.

Gaudin models with ${\CU}_q(\mathfrak{osp}(1 | 2))$ symmetry

We consider a Gaudin model related to the q-deformed superalgebra ${\CU}_q(\mathfrak{osp}(1 | 2))$. We present an exact solution to that system diagonalizing a complete set of commuting observables, and providing the corresponding eigenvectors and eigenvalues. The approach used in this paper is based on the coalgebra supersymmetry of the model.

Algebraic extensions of Gaudin models

We perform a Inönü--Wigner contraction on Gaudin models, showing how the integrability property is preserved by this algebraic procedure. Starting from Gaudin models we obtain new integrable chains, that we call Lagrange chains, associated to the same linear $r$-matrix structure. We give a general construction involving rational, trigonometric and elliptic solutions of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. Two particular examples are explicitly considered: the rational Lagrange chain and the trigonometric one. In both cases local variables of the models are the generators of the direct sum of $N$ $\mathfrak{e}(3)$ interacting tops.

Superintegrable Deformations of the Smorodinsky-Winternitz Hamiltonian

A constructive procedure to obtain superintegrable deformations of the classical Smorodinsky-Winternitz Hamiltonian by using quantum deformations of its underlying Poisson sl(2) coalgebra symmetry is introduced. Through this example, the general connection between coalgebra symmetry and quasi-maximal superintegrability is analysed. The notion of comodule algebra symmetry is also shown to be applicable in order to construct new integrable deformations of certain Smorodinsky-Winternitz systems.

Bäcklund transformations for the rational Lagrange chain

We consider a long--range homogeneous chain where the local variables are the generators of the direct sum of $N$ $\mathfrak{e}(3)$ interacting Lagrange tops. We call this classical integrable model rational ``Lagrange chain'' showing how one can obtain it starting from $\mathfrak{su}(2)$ rational Gaudin models. Moreover we construct one- and two--point integrable maps (Bäcklund transformations).

Separation of variables and Bäcklund transformations for the symmetric Lagrange top

We construct the 1- and 2-point integrable maps (Bäcklund transformations) for the symmetric Lagrange top. We show that the Lagrange top has the same algebraic Poisson structure that belongs to the $sl(2)$ Gaudin magnet. The 2-point map leads to a real time-discretization of the continuous flow. Therefore, it provides an integrable numerical scheme for integrating the physical flow. We illustrate the construction by few pictures of the discrete flow calculated in MATLAB.

Exact solution of a supersymmetric Gaudin model

A special case of the Gaudin model related to the superalgebra $osp(1,2)$ is investigated. An exact solution for the model in the spin-1/2 representation is presented. A complete set of commuting observables is diagonalized and the corresponding eigenvectors and eigenvalues are explicitly calculated. The approach used in this paper is based on the co-algebra symmetry of the model, already known from the spin-1/2 Calogero-Gaudin system.

Classical Dynamical Systems from q-algebras:"cluster" variables and explicit solutions

A general procedure to get the explicit solution of the equations of motion for N-body classical Hamiltonian systems equipped with coalgebra symmetry is introduced by defining a set of appropriate collective variables which are based on the iterations of the coproduct map on the generators of the algebra. In this way several examples of N-body dynamical systems obtained from q-Poisson algebras are explicitly solved: the q-deformed version of the sl(2) Calogero-Gaudin system (q-CG), a q-Poincare' Gaudin system and a system of Ruijsenaars type arising from the same (non co-boundary) q-deformation of the (1+1) Poincare' algebra. Also, a unified interpretation of all these systems as different Poisson-Lie dynamics on the same three dimensional solvable Lie group is given.

What is the relativistic Volterra lattice?

We develop a systematic procedure of finding integrable ''relativistic'' (regular one-parameter) deformations for integrable lattice systems. Our procedure is based on the integrable time discretizations and consists of three steps. First, for a given system one finds a local discretization living in the same hierarchy. Second, one considers this discretization as a particular Cauchy problem for a certain 2-dimensional lattice equation, and then looks for another meaningful Cauchy problems, which can be, in turn, interpreted as new discrete time systems. Third, one has to identify integrable hierarchies to which these new discrete time systems belong. These novel hierarchies are called then ''relativistic'', the small time step $h$ playing the role of inverse speed of light. We apply this procedure to the Toda lattice (and recover the well-known relativistic Toda lattice), as well as to the Volterra lattice and a certain Bogoyavlensky lattice, for which the ''relativistic'' deformations were not known previously.

A systematic construction of completely integrable Hamiltonians from coalgebras

A universal algorithm to construct N-particle (classical and quantum) completely integrable Hamiltonian systems from representations of coalgebras with Casimir element is presented. In particular, this construction shows that quantum deformations can be interpreted as generating structures for integrable deformations of Hamiltonian systems with coalgebra symmetry. In order to illustrate this general method, the $so(2,1)$ algebra and the oscillator algebra $h_4$ are used to derive new classical integrable systems including a generalization of Gaudin-Calogero systems and oscillator chains. Quantum deformations are then used to obtain some explicit integrable deformations of the previous long-range interacting systems and a (non-coboundary) deformation of the $(1+1)$ Poincaré algebra is shown to provide a new Ruijsenaars-Schneider-like Hamiltonian.

A Simple Lattice Version of the Nonlinear Schrodinger Equation and its Deformation with Exact Quantum Solution

A lattice version of quantum nonlinear Schrodinger (NLS) equation is considered, which has significantly simple form and fullfils most of the criteria desirable for such lattice variants of field models. Unlike most of the known lattice NLS, the present model belongs to a class which does not exhibit the usual symmetry properties. However this lack of symmetry itself seems to be responsible for the remarkable simplification of the relevant objects in the theory, such as the Lax operator, the Hamiltonian and other commuting conserved quantities as well as their spectrum. The model allows exact quantum solution through algebraic Bethe ansatz and also a straightforward and natural generalisation to the vector case, giving thus a new exact lattice version of the vector NLS model. A deformation representing a new quantum integrable system involving Tamm-Dancoff like $q$-boson operators is constructed.
