Analysis of COVID-19 evolution in Senegal: impact of health care capacity

We consider a compartmental model from which we incorporate a time-dependent health care capacity having a logistic growth. This allows us to take into account the Senegalese authorities response in anticipating the growing number of infected cases. We highlight the importance of anticipation and timing to avoid overwhelming that could impact considerably the treatment of patients and the well-being of health care workers. A condition, depending on the health care capacity and the flux of new hospitalized individuals, to avoid possible overwhelming is provided. We also use machine learning approach to project forward the cumulative number of cases from March 02, 2020, until 1st December, 2020.

Predicting the cumulative number of cases for the COVID-19 epidemic in China from early data

We model the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic in China. We use early reported case data to predict the cumulative number of reported cases to a final size. The key features of our model are the timing of implementation of major public policies restricting social movement, the identification and isolation of unreported cases, and the impact of asymptomatic infectious cases.

Positively Invariant Subset for Non-Densely Defined Cauchy Problems

In this article we prove the positive invariance of a closed subset by the semiflow generated by a semi-linear non densely Cauchy problem. The condition impose to obtain such a property is a so called sub-tangential condition. We apply our results to a class of age structured population models.

Variation of constants formula and exponential dichotomy for non autonomous non densely defined Cauchy problems

In this paper we prove a variation of constants formula for a non autonomous and non homogeneous Cauchy problems whenever the linear part is not densely defined and is not a Hille-Yosida operator. By using this variation of constants formula we derive a necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of exponential dichotomy for the evolution family generated by the associated non autonomous homogeneous problem. We also prove a persistence result of the exponential dichotomy for small perturbations. Finally we illustrate our result by consider a parabolic equation with non local and non autonomous boundary conditions.

Persistence of exponential trichotomy for linear operators: A Lyapunov-Perron approach

In this article we revisit the perturbation of exponential trichotomy of linear difference equation in Banach space by using a Perron-Lyapunov fixed point formulation for the perturbed evolution operator. This approach allows us to directly re-construct the perturbed semiflow without using shift spectrum arguments. These arguments are presented to the case of linear autonomous discrete time dynamical system. This result is then coupled to Howland semigroup procedure to obtain the persistence of exponential trichotomy for non-autonomous difference equations as well as for linear random difference equations in Banach spaces.
